The Holy Spirit is precise. And so is common Greek. It is Why Koine is used. a little study of it goes a long way in clearing up most misconceptions and preconcieved ideas.

but there have always been those who want their "truth" over and above The Truth.
I hear ya......the languages inspired and the nuances and tenses IN CONTEXT set us free form religious ineptitude and false religion that leads to hell........I study EVERY WORD and have found NUMEROUS examples where the English translations and transliterations have missed the mark big time.

Now I am even more confused.

You preach that salvation can be lost (meaning it must be maintained by some deed of your own) then ask me why I ask you why you are trying to save yourself?

do you even understand?
Do I even understand.
You're funny.

WHAT DEED did I say has to be done to maintain salvation?????

The reason you're Always confused by what I say is that you don't listen to what I'm saying.

You sure do talk about hell a lot.

Is it your fear of going to hell that makes you believe the lie that once you are saved you're Always saved??

That must be it...

Belief. That our faith is what saves us and not the object of our faith(The Lord Jesus Christ)

It's like having faith to board a plane to get us to point B. If mid flight we suddenly get paranoid and everybody around us says "we are going down" and we believe it. but the plane makes it without a hitch and lands safely. Was it the little bit of faith it took to board the plane that saved you or was it the plane?

The object of our faith is what saves us....The Lord Jesus Christ.

Is following Jesus like getting on a plane?

This sounds more and more like becoming a member of a group, and getting a group
ticket to paradise.

Jesus was always talking about reality, love and the heart.
Now however your analogies go, if your heart is full of the love of Jesus and overflows
to others then Amen.

But I suspect for you guys, in reality you do not believe a labelled person really knows
Christ, His word or walks in His ways, unless they buy into your version of faith.

Do you the truth? I do not know what will happen tomorrow, but I trust Christ will
keep me safe in His hands when I have faith in Him. It is that simple.

Nice.

But it's your side that is Always posting

EPHISIANS 2:8

So now it's Jesus that saves?
NOT FAITH??

Interesting concept.

Maybe it's Abraham that saves?
Or Moses?
Or David?

OF COURSE IT'S JESUS!

But you have to have FAITH IN HIM to BE IN HIM.

For you have been saved BY FAITH through GRACE.

What other new concept will you come up with to suit your own mistaken beliefs???

BTW,

Not every passenger in a plane has FAITH in that plane.
Many get on it all drugged up and scared to Death.
I liken them to the unsaved.

THE PILOT, OTOH, has FAITH in his Aircraft.
If HE loses faith in mid-flight,
YES, there's a good chance he'll freeze up and maybe crash.

Hi Grace,
I've seen this post of yours before.
Do you copy and paste?

I don't do that. Every single one of my posts is original
Really?............

13 In [a]Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in [c]Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is [d]given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.

STRONGS NT 4972: σφραγίζω

σφραγίζω (Revelation 7:3 Rec.st); 1 aorist ἐσφραγισα; 1 aorist middle participle σφραγισάμενος; passive, perfect participle ἐσφραγισμενος; 1 aorist ἐσφραγίσθην; (in 2 Corinthians 11:10 Rec.st gives the form σφραγίσεται de coniectura vel errore (Tdf.; see his note at the passage)); (σφραγίς, which see); the Sept. for חָתַם; to set a seal upon, mark with a seal, to seal;
a. for security: τί, Matthew 27:66; namely, τήν ἄβυσσον, to close it, lest Satan after being cast into it should come out; hence, the addition ἐπάνω αὐτοῦ, over him i. e. Satan, Revelation 20:3 (ἐν ᾧ —i. e. δώματι —κεραυνός ἐστιν
—i. e. δώματι —κεραυνός ἐστιν ἐσφραγισμενος, Aeschylus Eum. 828; middle σφραγίζομαι τήν θύραν, Bel and the Dragon, , Theod.).

b. Since things sealed up are concealed (as, the contents of a letter), (σφραγίζω means, tropically, to hide (Deuteronomy 32:34), keep in silence, keep secret: τί, Revelation 10:4; Revelation 22:10 (τάς ἁμαρτίας, Daniel 9:24, Theod.; τάς ἀνομίας, Job 14:17; τούς λόγους σιγή, Stobaeus, flor. 34, 9, p. 215; θαυματα πολλά σοφή σφρηγισσατο σιγή, Norm. paraphr. evang. Ioan. 21,140).
c. in order to mark a person or thing; hence, to set a mark upon by the impress of a seal, to stamp: angels are said σφραγίζειν τινας ἐπί τῶν μετώπων, i. e. with the seal of God (see σφραγίς, c.) to stamp his servants on their foreheads as destined for eternal salvation, and by this means to confirm their hopes, Revelation 7:3, cf. Ewald at the passage; (B. D., under the words, Cuttings and Forehead); hence, οἱ εσφραγισμένοι, fourteen times in Rec. Revelation 7:4-8, four times by G L T Tr WH (δεινοισι σημαντροισιν εσφραγισμένοι, Euripides, Iph. Taur. 1372); metaphorically: τινα τῷ πνεύματι and ἐν τῷ πνεύματι, respecting God, who by the gift of the Holy Spirit indicates who are his, passive, Ephesians 1:13; Ephesians 4:30; absolutely, middle with τινα, 2 Corinthians 1:22.

1 Peter 1:9 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

A Living Hope, and a Sure Salvation
1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,

To those who reside as aliens, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, who are chosen 2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, [a]to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace be yours in the fullest measure.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various [c]trials, 7 so that the [d]proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which [e]is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 8 and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and [f]full of glory, 9 obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of [g]your souls.

Ephesians 5:3-7 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

3 But immorality [a]or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints; 4 and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this you know with certainty, that no [c]immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not be partakers with them;

problem solved if you can see it.

New American Standard Bible
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
What many fail to understand is that the statement "that not of yourselves" is directed at the faith that saves...........

awesome truth missed by many!

Not hardly......You should KNOW....you peddle a Catholic version of salvation!
You really hate Catholics.
I sure hope you don't know any.

YOU would make them hate protestants.
You have much hate in your heart.
Jesus said that we're to love one another and that's how the world would know us.
How does the world see YOU, I wonder?

No wonder many turn away from our faith. They see people who talk the talk,
but don't walk the walk.

John 5:25-29
Look it up.

What must I do to be saved?
BELIEVE in Jesus.
You like Greek. What does BELIEVE mean??

And let's not forget
John 3:26
"HE WHO BELIEVES IN THE SON HAS ETERNAL LIFE
BUT HE WHO DOES NOT OBEY THE SON SHALL NOT SEE LIFE, BUT THE WRATH OF GOD ABIDES ON HIM." NASB

Hebrews 3:12-19
It's titles THE PERIL OF UNBELIEF

verse 12 take care BRETHREN......lest any one of you have AN UNBELIEVING HEART
verse 13 But ENCOURAGE one another day after day (why if we're saved no matter what??)
verse 14 For we have become partakers of Christ IF WE HOLD FAST THE BEGINNING OF OUR ASSURANCE FIRM UNTIL THE END.

But, of course, biblical truth means nothing to you.
Because of a few verses that SEEM to say what you want them to say.

Oh my!!!

I thought it meant that we're not saved by our own works.

Ephesians 2:9
"NOT AS A RESULT OF WORKS, THAT NO ONE SHOULD BOAST." NASB

Yes. You DO have your very own version of scripture...
