yea, I have thought a lot about bailing recently, because of what you just said. but, I stay and contend with them for the sake of young and/or new believers, who can get really confused by all that garbage. but it is very sad.
Bible-Discussion is much worse than what goes on here. Thank you for staying and contending for the faith! :)

John 6:29;
"The work of God is this; to believe in the one he has sent."

There are no greater works we can do.
This is it.
Our belief in Jesus Christ by the grace of God is what saves us.
Not how many times we feed the poor.
Not anything else.
Don't add anything to the Gospel.
This is it.
But bro how could you confess you believe in Jesus Christ yet do no “works” when the scriptures clearly states; James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
In context with the scriptures; After the miracle, John 6:26-30 Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?
The people did not see the miracle; they just wanted a free feed.
Then they quoted Moses; John 6:31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
Basically Jesus explained the difference between the bread Moses gave (from God) was to save them from hunger (flesh); Jesus today is the bread of life (spiritual bread), John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
This is work of God/the meat which endureth unto everlasting life- Jesus Christ is the Word of God.
To confirm your belief one must be; James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Difference between the sheep and the goat; Matthew 25:32-33 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
The sheep; Matthew 25:34-40 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
The goat; Matthew 25:41-46 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
We cannot “add to salvation” but we need to follow God’s Will for salvation to secure our salvation.

by their own words do they condemn themselves...I never called them sinners, they confess with their own mouth that they are sinners, so am I to assume they are lying, I don't know.. and some even want to call holy men and women in the bible sinners....Ezekiel said that was an abomination,
Danile and Job were delivered by their own righteousness, yet they say none can be righteous, and its even a greater sin to try and be righteous, and even if you can then you don't need Jesus. These vain contentions are so childish. Nothing they say makes any biblical since..Jesus said, they say no one be can be holy.

You tell them the cure to their sin problem is to crucify the passions and desires of the flesh with great zeal in repentance like Paul said in 2 Cor 7-11, and they deem you filled with of hate speech coming to spoil their sin party. They believe in sin less management 12 step programs, and promise keeper rallies, that quickly die after the euphoria, hype and glitter is over...Not one of them will even dare to addresses 2 Cor. 7-11,they wouldn't touch it with a 10ft pole, that scripture is blackout with a marker in their bibles..Paul preached the goodness and severity of God that he have no blood on his hands, they only preach the goodness of God and omit the severity if God is disobeyed..Who am I to believe, the scriptures, or the promises of vain men who look for strength in numbers and gang stalk anyone who speaks of righteousness? Noah stood aloof and cared not about strength in numbers. Those numbers, nickels, and noses were swept away in the flood, and today the flood of lies covers the whole earth....They don't want to hear "put away all filthiness, and receive the engrafted word that can save your soul and make NO PROVISION for the lustful desires of the flesh". They call it hate speech...truly amazing that the turned the scriptures upside down good is evil, and evil is good...My, my!!

I don't think some of them even know that a saint is the opposite of a sinner....Oh when those sinners, oh when those sinners, oh when those sinners go marching in? Is that how that song goes? Makes one wonder at times...One would have to ask; if they could stop sinning would they even want to?

It is possible to have faith but not love, to have power and be social within Christianity and not
know Christ.

I have met people like this.

It is possible to act like you have faith but it is just a show. Everything is what you think others
want, a kind of self hypnosis.

How do we know the difference? Because inside you care, you want to help to touch others, to
have them know the King, to find living water flowing from the King.

To be hard hearted is to find it does not matter, nothing can touch you.
To walk with Christ is to have an open heart, to love others and really appreciate them and find
in each a blessing. Pain does occur but there is also healing.

May we all learn to walk in Christ's love, Amen.

What is apparent to me is in sharing some great insight's in Christ, for some it is like a curse.

This is so odd, except maybe in their past it stirs something with pain and trouble.
This is why when I see insults, slander etc I am confused unless it is just like hitting someone in
the face, meant to cause pain and that is all.

One contributed did confess they were hurt and just wanted retaliation.
In Christ these hurts need to be forgiven and we walk in love.

If we walk in hurt, we are walking in ourselves and not Christ.
This is were we have the opportunity to go to the cross and let Christ heal us.
He hurts with us and wants us to know His healing, Amen.

Just what we need on Christian Chat. Another judgmental, mean spirited, self righteous person to scold and condemn all those who don't agree with their false teachings.

I recently left the "Bible-Discussion" website because I was fed up with the toxic environment there. That forum had just about been completely hi jacked by false teachers, including sinless perfectionists, anti-Trinitarians, works salvationists etc.. and it was nothing but a war zone!

No love, no edification, just false teachings, false accusations, straw man arguments, argue, argue, argue! :(

Thank God for my brothers and sisters in Christ on Christian Chat who stand up for the truth and against false teachers. :)
I agree Dan.

These works of the flesh that insult and slander others are defiling to watch. It is so ironic that some of those that say we are to walk righteously and from a pure heart ( which everyone agrees is a description of Christ bearing His fruit in and through our lives ) - these same ones are slandering others, their posts are filled with malice and hatred, lies and all these works of the flesh are in the same list as those living a homosexual lifestyle. I see no difference from these with their insults and bad behavior.

Some of these it is apparent just to ignore them and not interact with them at all. I treat some of their posts like I do the porn ads that pop up from time to time on a PC.

We all can get heated up in some discussions but some of these people have been insulting others, slandering them and calling them names for over a year. Until they stop this foul behavior - it's best to not engage with them at all.

They curse others in the body of Christ with one mouth and then turn around and say "Bless the Lord". James talks about this type of behavior.

James 3:8-10 (NASB)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison.

[SUP]9 [/SUP] With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God;

[SUP]10 [/SUP] from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be this way.

I just bless them and leave them in the Lord's hands. He will be faithful to them and reveal Himself in all His beauty.

It is true an antagonistic spirit can create a response.

Praise be to Christ that His love overcomes all. As the soldier drove the nails in
Jesus forgave them. Though like refuse on a hill to be destroyed, yet He felt privilegedto be in the will of the Father. Though the pain was beyond belief He did not give up
because He knew what the Father would do, Amen to the King

20,000 posts in one year, and much of it pushing Joseph Prince's rebellious ilk?. Who could possibly have the time for that many posts and still have a life? Jesus says go and sin no more and he treats this like a porn add? No amount of foolishness even makes him blush..

well, many of us completely see what you are saying- works salvationism, and a bit of sinless perfectionism. wrong on both.

I find this idea of me slandering others when I have merely repeated back what
they are saying, means it is not the words that they dislike so much but the
feeling associated with them.

But I am not the one saying teaching is from demons, I am merely sharing Gods
word. We will not agree and we both know why. You have a life experience that
tells you what spiritual reality is, and we disagree.

If you encourage people to walk in Christs ways and read His word, amen.
God bless you. If you teach hatred and bitterness towards fellow believers
then you disown yourselves from love and the oneness we have in Christ,
and equally you will be disowned.
I assume you are referring to grace 7's post #1133 where he said " the whole doctrine of losing one's salvation when they are in Christ is demonically inspired and has done more harm......... "

peter, this is not saying that " Christ teachings are from demons " not, not not saying that. he meant that the teaching that one can lose salvation is inspired by evil

you were dead wrong of accusing and then slandering him for this. you owe him an apology. if you are " pure, holy, righteous " the way you say you are, you will give him one. because that is what God's people do. they are honest, truthful, and admit when they make mistakes.

Why did you dodge my question? Do you believe that you live a sinless, without fault of defect, flawless, absolutely perfect life (exactly as Jesus lived) 100% of the time? YES or NO. I am not arguing in favor of sin, but at the same time, I am not suffering from a terminal case of self righteousness either (1 John 1:8-10).
Of course he does....he should read his own posts....most of what he spews applies to himself....!

I noticed I have gotten one rep...amazing, and praise God for that, although it seems I'm not very effective...However, neither was Noah, who was a preacher of RIGHTEOUSNESS, He did horrible when it comes to effectiveness. he got no reps. at all, even after preaching for 120 years....
At least he preached the truth......

Someone must've mistakenly given you credit. It happens.

No, you're wrong here (seems to be a trend for you). ;)

Noah got 7 reps from family and 1 rep from God. And you're no Noah.

False teacher? Yep. :)
Imagine the lack of understanding.....some sins get chastisement and some send you to hell.....<--about as false and anti-biblical as.....You shall NOT surely die.......we know who said that one........

I have said MANY times I still have ignorance, not perfect in all knowledge, moments of anger, human flaws in that I was made subject to vanity for the divine purpose of the Creator who knows what is best for mankind, but I have departed from the vile sins of the flesh that will destroy my soul. Have you?
I fixed it for you....You break one of the least of the commandments YOU ARE GUILTY of the WHOLE.....SIN is SIN is SIN.....there is no such thing as BIG sins and LITTLE sins.....wake up to the truth...what you accuse of...you yourself are guilty of.....

I thought you put me on ignore? If you are asking me if I practice such sins found in Galatians 5:19-21 and 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, the answer is NO. Notice that Paul addresses such people in 1 Corinthians 6:9 as "unrighteous" which means they are not believers/not saved. Paul also goes on to say in verse 11 (talking about believers) - And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

You seem eager to accuse others of not departing from vile sins and judging them as condemned, yet judging yourself as "holier than thou." Reminds me of the Pharisees.
The error of these sinless workers for is to qualify and quantify sin.....JESUS and Paul were clear...Break one of the LEAST of the commandments makes one guilty of the whole....SIN is SIN...end of story.....a white lie is as bad as murder because both equal a transgression of the LAW.....
