Human life is fragile; so much so that even something as thin as the air can
snuff it out.

†. Isa 40:6-7 . . All flesh is grass, and all its grace is like the blossom of the
field. The grass shall dry out, the blossom shall wilt, for a wind from the Lord
has blown upon it; behold the people is grass.

According to a report released on March 25, 2014 by the World Health
Organization; air pollution kills, on average, seven million people per
annum; and is linked to one in eight deaths (12.5%) world-wide. Think of it.
That percentage represents 894,630,800 deaths linked to air pollution per
annum out of a currently estimated 7,166,387,800+ people.

An estimated 4.3 million people died in 2012 as a result of indoor air
pollution, mostly from cooking inside with coal or wood stoves in developing
countries, according to a report by the public health agency of the United
Nations.

Air pollution is so lethal because it exacerbates other conditions like cardio
vascular diseases, cancer, and respiratory illnesses. Were people with those
conditions permitted to breathe clean air free of hazardous chemicals and
toxic particulates, they would live longer.

Pop Clock Update: 44 days have elapsed since beginning the thread. If the
figures in post #1 are within reason, then something like 2,577,564 new
arrivals have checked into the fiery sector of hades since December 10,
2014.

Hmmm, it occurs to me that God must be like the Nazis in WWII. Torture, cruelty and sadism described their barbaric treatment of Jews, Gypsies and foreigners.

Do you really think God is this way?

You, my friend, don't seem to understand that...

1Jn 4:16 ... God is love; ...

You seem to think that God will take great delight in torturing and tormenting the unsaved for all eternity.

NOTHING could be further from the truth.
The bible states that the Lord takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked.....

My point exactly. God does not torment or torture people forever, He puts them out of existence so they cannot make themselves and everyone around them miserable.

I want to add a thought for those who reject a literal HELL where suffering takes place......

Did Jesus ever lie and or deceive anyone?

In Luke 16 when Jesus tells the story of the rich man and Lazarus, would it not be a lie and or deceptive to use descriptions of a place that did not actually exist?

When the bible speaks of God turning men to destruction that they may be motivated to turn and serve....if destruction was not something to be feared why would he use such terms if one who is lost just dies and does not know anything and or perceive anything?

Why would Jesus tell the people to fear the one who can kill and cast into hell if one dies, goes to the ground and knows nothing, perceives nothing and does not feel anything?

Why would the beast, and false prophet and Satan be cast down to hell if hell was just a place where one sleeps and does not know anything and or feel anything?

Why would there be weeping and the gnashing of teeth in hell/lake of fire if it was a place where one is unaware of anything and does not know anything and if it is not literal does that make God a liar and or misleading about what hell is and or the lake of fire?

Answer all of the questions logically and with scripture and show how the Lord and God is not lying and or being misleading by the use of the language that is used!

I will remind you that it is IMPOSSIBLE for GOD to LIE and or MISLEAD!
To tell stories and use examples of a place that does not exist is both a lie and misleading and deceptive so the only LOGICAL CONCLUSION IS........!

I'm still waiting for one of these hell deniers to tell me/us why Jesus said that it would have been good for Judas if he had never been born?

Never born = doesn't exist.
Annihilated = doesn't exist.

What's up with that?

Oh trust me, hell is going to be very real. The suffering, although brief, will be much worse than you can imagine. These people will be thrown in the Lake of Fire and burned to death. There will be much weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth, but it won't go on and on and on.

God is not cruel or sadistic, but He is just and rejecting Him leaves one with a heavy price to pay.

Just out of curiosity, which of you would take your own child that was guilty of crimes and unrepentant, and torture them forever?

So, is that what the love of God is? Torturing people forever? Or burning them up and putting them out of their misery?

How does this jive with the smoke of their torment ascending before the throne for ever and ever? (the ages of ages)

We are reading this in a book that is symbols, allegories and metaphors.

Rev 17:6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

Is this woman really drunk on blood? Or has she shed the blood of true Christians in copious amounts and taken pleasure in doing so?

Rev 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

Have nations actually drunk wrath of fornication? Have the kings of the earth actually committed fornication with the streets and buildings of this city?

Remember what you are reading and where it is from.

I don't think this is a valid question based upon two things.....

1. One our mind is finite and we have a very difficult time forgetting anything...
2. God's mind is infinite and it states clearly that the memory of the wicked shall be forgotten....

God's ways are so much higher than our ways and are past finding out.....We cannot use our own worldly, human emotion to try and comprehend why God would allow a lost person to suffer the torment of the lake of fire for all eternal ages as our own reasoning would not allow us to comprehend this in a manner that would make sense to us.

We could easily use this same type of reasoning to ask...

1. Why would God tell Joshua to kill everybody at the siege and fall of Jericho including the children...
2. Why does God allow the children to suffer and starve to death in Somalia...
3. Why does God allow babies and small children to get cancer that eats them away to the bone and kills them....

Etc. If we try and comprehend all that God does or allows by our limited, finite view we will always fall short and miss the mark as to why God does what God does and or allows to be done.........

Just a thought or two.....

Trust me I do remember where that comes from and know full well that not all things written in Revelation are metaphorical and or symbolic....some of the book is literal and the book's name means to reveal and or take the cover off and is meant to be understood......I will also add to place the entire book under the categories you listed is also a little incorrect.....

Let me ask another question...

Does torture, suffering, pain and misery sound like something God would author? Or does it sound like something Satan would author? Who do you suppose promulgates this misinformation to portray God as an cruel, sadistic ogre?

What kinds of lies do you suppose Satan originally told the angels about God to subvert one-third of them?

Rev 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

Remember who is whom here...

Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Whom do you suppose has misrepresented what God is going to do? Nowhere in the Bible does the plain text indicate unimaginable suffering forever.

To which should we really ascribe suffering unimaginable pain forever and ever? Is this something God would think up? Or is it something that Satan would think up?

Refer back to post 66 and are you saying that the things stated by Jesus are misrepresented and or twisted? The plain text of the truth indicates suffering for the lost on an eternal scale.....and to say that it does not and or to indicate that Satan has twisted it denies the inspiration and truth of the scriptures given.....!

Because of context, no reason to believe it is metaphorical and not to mention the fact of ALL of the other SCRIPTURES that are given that INDICATE a place of ETERNAL suffering for those who reject Jesus...including the things that Jesus stated himself.......

Hey, John.

I have a serious question for you. IOW, I'm not trying to be antagonistic or anything, but I'm just wondering if you've ever considered what I'm about to say or not...

When one considers all of the deception, murder, heartbreak, rape, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., which Satan has inspired since the fall of man, do you HONESTLY believe that a just recompense of the same is to just be "burned to death"?

Remember, the lake of fire was originally prepared for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41) and those who join them there will suffer the same consequences for their sin as Satan and his angels suffer for theirs.

I heard a preacher say the following (I'm paraphrasing) many years ago and it's really stuck with me since then and I'm wondering what you think about the same. He said:

If I called you on the phone and told you that I was in court earlier today and that I had to pay a fine of $100.00 before leaving, then you'd probably say, "What were you there for...a traffic violation or something?" IOW, based upon MY PUNISHMENT, you could pretty much guess THE SEVERITY OF MY CRIME. In this instance, the $100.00 fine would indicate that my offense WAS MINOR. If, however, I called you on the phone and told you that I was in court earlier today and that I was sentenced to 5 consecutive life sentences in prison without any chance of parole, then you'd probably say, "Wow! What did you do...kill a bunch of people or something?" Again, based upon MY PUNISHMENT, you could pretty much guess THE SEVERITY OF MY CRIME. In this instance, the 5 consecutive life sentences in prison without any chance of parole would indicate that my offense WAS MAJOR.

Again, when we consider ALL OF THE SIN WHICH HAS EVER BEEN COMMITTED UNDER INSPIRATION OF SATAN SINCE THE GARDEN OF EDEN, is being "burned to death" a just recompense?

Personally, I'm sick and tired of hearing this whole "It makes God look like a sadistic monster!" nonsense.

Do you want to know what I think THE REAL PROBLEM is? You might at well say "yes" because I'm about to tell you:

Romans chapter 7

[12] Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
[13] Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.

I think that THE REAL PROBLEM is that people, many a professing Christian included, are so blind to God's Holiness that they don't see sin as being "EXCEEDING SINFUL", BUT IT IS!

God's Judgment will be just...

Luke 16 is a parable and what is the purpose of parables?

Luk 16:14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.
Luk 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

To whom was Jesus speaking to? The Pharisees...

Mat 13:10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
Mat 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
Mat 13:12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
Mat 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
Mat 13:14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
Mat 13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Mat 13:16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

Why did He speak in parables? He just finished saying to hide the meaning. He was speaking to His disciples here.

Now, when others were around, did He speak plainly?

Mat 13:34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:
Mat 13:35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
Mat 13:36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

Now did the disciples always get it? Says right there they did not.

I'll hit Luke 16 in the next post.
