This is all a matter of identity! If I was a thief before I came to Christ..am I still a thief?..in the eyes of the world I am ( and in the eyes of self-righteous people that never sold I could still be thought of that way )

In Christ there is no such thing of being gay, being a thief, a gossiper..whatever. We are new creations in Christ!

It's a matter of indentity! Let's tell Christians who they really are now in Christ..and to stop identifying ourselves with the old habits of our former life or for those things that we still struggle with.
This is amazing!!!!

Thank God for the gifts of the Spirit in operation!!..great story!
Yes,truly there was rejoicing in that church that night. Sometimes we follow the Holy Spirit and think, this doesn't make sense,Ive got to be wrong. But great things happen when we obey

If you want to witness to the LGBTQ community, you do not tell them they are sinning whether or not they are acting out on their sexual identity. What would be the point of their repentance in such a case? They would always be sinning according to some here, even if they stopped practicing sexual immorality. So the point is extremely important, even if some wish to ignore it and pretend it isn't so. The point?

It is not a sin to be gay.

I truly thank many here because God has used you to deepen my understanding of His Amazing Grace. This is a post from a wonderful woman responding to a Bruce Jenner thread. I won't name her and I hope she doesn't mind me copy and pasting her post, but it had a huge impact on me with dealing not only with homosexuals, but all of those who are los, and don't know Jesus:

"I mean, when I was an alcoholic.. when I was a total pot head... when I lived to party and certainly looked the part.... when my mind was saturated with the world... my neighbor, a young blind Christian woman named Mary became my friend. I didn't know why because I wasn't worthy to be anyone's friend as I lived for myself.

Mary didn't preach, didn't try to force scripture down my throat, didn't point out my sins like I was a "filthy sinner" whom she was trying to save from hellfire. She was just this extremely joyful woman who was overflowing with exuberance and peace and.. (here's the clincher!) talked to Jesus like He was standing next to her. Every time I saw her walking her little doggie up the sidewalk, she was talking to Jesus and thanking Him for giving her sight. She was a blind girl. But she was praising the Lord for loving her and letting her see clearly. (Ok, now I'm crying my eyes out remembering that.) \:)/ Glory to God!

But when Mary talked to me, she just became my friend. I started asking questions about Jesus. Something in my heart (the Holy Spirit, of course) told me I was missing something, I was not whole, I was dark inside and I knew it just being in Mary's presence. She never told me I was lost without the Lord, I KNEW IT!

So you see my plight here. I can't point a finger or throw rocks at others. I don't know how to react to Bruce Jenner's situation. All I know is he ain't happy with himself or with life. Anyone who has to keep trying to win the world's approval does not approve of themselves in their own heart. Nor do they believe God approves of them. So I'll pray and ask the Lord to let Bruce know how much Jesus Christ yearns for him to be set free in his mind and to find rest in the Father's arms of love."

I don't have any LGTB friends but I have some old school acquaintances on like facebook. I think love. Letting them know that we love them. We don't love WHAT THEY DO. But they are still God's kids just like we are, they have just made a wrong turn.

I have a really vivid memory of a guy who was gay whom I went to high school with, I saw him later and he had worried that "I hated him" because he was gay since I was Christian. I responded with a happy no, and he was so relieved he just hugged me. I may not have been able to verbally witness to him, but maybe it opened the door to let him realize that not all of us are like that.

Well said! beautiful!

it reminds me of our Lord and the leper that came to Him..Lord..are you willing to heal me?

Jesus "reached out and touched him..saying I am willing..be cleansed!"
Imagine how that leper felt because no one was supposed to touch the unclean leper. It has been a long time since anyone touched him..he is an outcast in society.

The Old Covenant says - "do not go near the leper least you be defiled"

The New Covenant grace of our Lord Jesus - "reaches out " and touches him and heals him

Let's reach out and "touch" those around us with the love and compassion of Jesus!

They don't need to hear they are sinners and vile...they need to hear the gospel of Christ that makes them clean and whole and truly loved!

Your attitude stinks. Why dont you just admit you are a coward to speak it out! Well, you must have the full revelation of the truth before you can speak it out. By your own words on this site;Im no convinced you have it.
You would do well to apply your words to yourself.

They along with all of us need to hear the gospel of the grace of Christ

..telling them that they are going to hell ( whether true or not true ) and to stop sinning is NOT the gospel!

Preach Jesus and HIs love to them and they will respond to His love for them.
Yep, I'm pretty sure the Bible said "We love Him because He first loved us."... not... "We love Him because He told us we were going to burn."

Exactly!..let's get the horse where it belongs..in front of the cart...everything originates in Jesus!

That's why Jesus fulfills for us this commandment

Luke 10:25-29 (NASB)
[SUP]25 [/SUP] And a lawyer stood up and put Him to the test, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"
[SUP]26 [/SUP] And He said to him, "What is written in the Law? How does it read to you?"
[SUP]27 [/SUP] And he answered, "YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND; AND YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."
[SUP]28 [/SUP] And He said to him, "You have answered correctly; DO THIS AND YOU WILL LIVE."[SUP]29 [/SUP] But wishing to justify himself, he said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

The problem is..we can't do it!. .But Jesus did it for us so by believing in Him..this is fulfilled in us! Beautiful!

Yep, I'm pretty sure the Bible said "We love Him because He first loved us."... not... "We love Him because He told us we were going to burn."

I thought Q stood for Queer. Don't we all question?
Queer is actually a rude way of referencing gay folks. Some groups at various times have reclaimed it in referencing themselves (like Act Up--"We're queer, we're here, get used to it"), but for a hetero person to call someone gay "queer" is insulting.

They gave them selves that moniker, not me. And if you look it up (which I did) the "Q" in LGBTQ is interchangeably queer/questioning.

Actually, they DIDN'T give themselves that name. They were CALLED that for probably a century or so--as an insult. In the 20th century they RECLAIMED the word to try and make it positive (much like some black folks are with the n-word). It's just kindness for a hetero person to not use that word towards gays in general.

If you personally know someone who is gay and you use it with that person, that's a different sort of context. (Likely a teasing one).

Have no fellowship with the evil works of darkness ..but rather reprove them ...some of you sound like your not reproving but approving darkness.... the bible makes clear if you do that, you will share in the wrath of God with these folks...but don't believe the bible ...believe the gay propaganda. Im sure God was just joking when He had that wrote.

and there is this too....concerning judgment on people before the time.... could have something to do with different covenants now?.....just sayin'

Luke 9:54-56 (NASB)
[SUP]54 [/SUP] When His disciples James and John saw this, they said, "Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them?"
[SUP]55 [/SUP] But He turned and rebuked them, and said, "You do not know what kind of spirit you are of;
[SUP]56 [/SUP] for the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them.".

"reprove the darkness"..."have no fellowship with darkness" is from the New Covenant... the most spiritual book in the New Covenant as a matter of fact.

The verse says have no fellowship with THE WORKS, it does not say, dont love the people. Brother dont you think it is very dangerous for you to say: "you will share in the wrath of God with these folks"??? I see stones cast over and over again in these pages. What the bible does say clearly is, loving one another is fulfillment of the law.

If you love people..you help them get set free from bondage..you don't add to the deception that is destroying them.

Eph 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
