LET’S TALK ABOUT FAITH (November 26, 2020)

If we are not careful to study God’s Word, we will find ourselves believing that Grace was the only Gift at Salvation, while FAITH was something we brought about by our own doing. Faith was also a gift from God, for we OBTAINED this “Like precious FAITH”, and notice the avenue through which it came.

2 Peter 1:1
Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have OBTAINED LIKE PRECIOUS FAITH with us THROUGH THE RIGHTEOUSNESS of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

Notice when and where it was obtained/received. This is when man believes with the heart unto RIGHTEOUSNESS, which is man believing/trusting in the Gospel of Jesus Christ the very first time, and God dealing/giving to them the MEASURE/PORTION of FAITH

Romans 10:10
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 12:3
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as GOD HAS DEALT/GIVEN TO EVERY MAN THE MEASURE OF FAITH.

Bread Crumbs “Faith on the Run” November 27

It is absolutely amazing how quickly a Christian can move from the status of a great victory to the state of despondency and despair. We should understand that immediately following any spiritual victory there will come an increased effort of the powers of darkness to discourage and offend. The devil works through lies that seem plausible, even while the shout of victory is still on our lips. So beware and be ready for the onslaught of the enemy after a great blessing. This truth is illustrated convincingly in the life of Elijah. After succeeding magnificently on Mount Carmel, right after proving the prophets of Baal as powerless charlatans, and just after leading Israel back to the one true living God, his life is threatened by Queen Jezebel. Instead of believing God, Elijah takes off running. He winds up living in a cave where God comes to him and asks, “What are you doing here?” Elijah recognizes his mistake and returns to Israel to attend to his ministry. If you ever find yourself driven by fear and hiding out in a cave, understand that this is not where God desires you to be. It is time to leave that cave of despair, step back out in faith, and do what God has called you to do!

1 Kings 19:9 - And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah?

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 3:3
For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.

This man, referring to Jesus Christ, was counted worthy of more glory than Moses because the Housebuilder has more honor than the house itself. Jesus Christ is The Creator, The Redeemer, and the Judge of ALL things, for it is THIS MAN, who is the God Man, The Lord Jesus Christ which God has used in all these things.

No matter how much God has used anyone in this Life, we should always remember that He is God and we are not. I’m amazed at how often we slip into some mindset that makes us think God owes us something, or that we can tell Him what He ought to do, and if He does not, we turn our backs on Him. If we are learning of Him, which is not happening outside of the only avenue in which He has given us to learn, which is through faith in the Sacrifice of Christ, we will be learning of His great love and mercy toward us that is never ending! He was using Moses to reveal Himself, as He was using all those of the Old Covenant to point to the One who said the Scriptures were about Him. Jesus! The House Builder is coming soon and maybe even today.

LET’S TALK ABOUT FAITH (November 27, 2020)

Galatians 2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the FAITH of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Many translations and versions of the Bible have been written over the last 500 years of printing, and many times the text has been altered, which sometimes help us understand what is written, but at other times, it has removed the focus and blocked what we really needed to see and understand. This is one of those verses.

The phrase, “By the faith of the Son of God” absolutely means exactly what is written in the exact way it is written. It was “By the FAITH of Jesus” that He by the Grace of God tasted death for all men. We need to know this, for the measure/portion of FAITH that we have obtained has been measured out of His FAITH.

Jesus had to live by Grace through FAITH, and the FAITH and Grace we have access to today comes to us each day exclusively through the avenue of His taste of death for us.

Hebrews 2:9
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

Far worse than just not knowing how to live in victory

ONLY ONE OPTION FOR SERVING GOD

Romans 6:16
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin (The Sin Nature) unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Faith in the Cross of Christ is the only avenue which God has provided, NOT only for us to be saved, but for us to be able to serve Him, while faith in anything other forces us to be slaves to the Sin Nature, and we might think we are serving Him, but we are not!

I speak from years of experience of being wrong, but O the faithful mercies of our God who continues to offer His Way of Righteousness daily to those who will humble themselves, repent and follow Him!

"And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare HIS WORKS with rejoicing" Psalm 107:22. Notice GODS WORKS are always associated with the Sacrifice: The Cross of Christ... "For the Word of the Lord is Right and ALL of His Works are done in Truth (Christ Crucified)" Psalm 33:4...This is His Word that He has sent to all those who have drawn near unto the gates of death and who have cried out unto the Lord in their trouble. This is the Only Truth that God Works in with Great Power (1Cor.1:18) to deliver them from their destruction, heal them from their sickness, and save them out of their distresses. And we declare it with Thanksgiving and great Rejoicing!! GLORY!! Still Determined!! 1Cor.2:2

Bread Crumbs “Let There Be Thanksgiving” November 28

I will forever sing a song of thanksgiving to my Lord! I will praise Him for all the mercy that He has extended towards me, even during the times when my ignorant and rebellious heart refused to yield to His will and His way. He has never been unfaithful, though I have wandered far down the winding path of doubt and unbelief. He has always extended grace which I did not work for, earn, or deserve. His plan of redemption reached way down into the pit of my despair and set my feet on a rock that will not be moved by time, circumstances, or even my failure. He has shown me His love even when I have shown Him my back. He has set my feet in a large room and made my life joyous. His Spirit, ever-present within me, provides the power I need to live holy. His word is a lamp unto my feet and safely guides me over every rocky precipice that I encounter on life's journey. He sent His only begotten Son to die on a cruel cross so that all these benefits might be mine. Oh come, let us magnify the Lord together! Let us forever praise His holy name!

Psalm 34:3 - O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 3:4
For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.

Every natural/physical house is built by some natural/physical man, but behind all the buildings of man, there is God, for He is the builder of all things. There is nothing created that was not created by Jesus Christ, The Living Word of God (John 1:1-3, 14). As we progress through the Scriptures here we will see the House that God built is the only Eternal house in which all his people will dwell forever, and His name is Jesus Christ!

As soon as sin came into the heart of man through his disobedience to God in the Garden of Eden, God rushed into the Garden to find man, and although man was running from and hiding from God, God still searched him out because it was God who could not stand the distance between those He had created in His image and Himself. God would give the promise of a Redeemer (Genesis 3:15), and show man how it would come about through the sacrificial system (Genesis 3:21). The answer and the promise was Jesus Christ who would come and give His Life to become our Eternal dwelling place! We are either IN Christ through faith in His blood or we are on the outside looking in just as in the days of Noah!

LET’S TALK ABOUT FAITH (November 28, 2020)

Men cannot work for faith, but rather God gives the Believer faith so that faith can work for us (Romans 12:3, Galatians 2:20, 2 Pet 1:1)

Faith is always used in verb form, which means it is an action word. This is why James writes that faith without works is dead

James 2:17-20
17 Even so FAITH, IF IT HAS NOT WORKS IS DEAD, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD?

Works can never produce faith, but proper faith (Faith in the Cross of Christ) will always produce, by the Spirit of God, proper works. This is why LAW can never work, because it is what we are working toward.

"This is the day which the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it" Psalm 118:24. Praise the Lord!! Everyday is a great day to rejoice and be glad when you have been set free from Sin and delivered from destruction! As brother Hatter says, You just don't know how close to Hell I came!! It's sad to see so many in the church that never have a testimony of Victory but only complain all the time about how bad life has treated them. It's all because they are still wrapped up in themselves rather than clinging to the Cross and becoming wrapped up in Jesus (Gal.2:20) where self is dethroned in the heart so the Peace and Joy of the Lord can reign. Glory!! There is Victory in the Cross but it's up to you to walk in it. (1Cor.15:57 ~ 2Cor.2:14) I'm glad to be on the Winning Team and not the whining team!! Clinging to the Cross and going on with Jesus!!

You can only convince people that you are determined to only know and preach the message of Christ and Him Crucified (The Gospel) if you are determined to unembrace and renounce everything else. (1Cor.2:2, James1:8) While some are earnestly contending for The Faith, some are earnestly pretending! Jude1:3
Take heed!!

Satan desires that every Believer would attend a church, but one that's not preaching the Cross, because the Cross is where he is defeated - Col.2:15, Hbr.2:14. If you’re in a church that’s not preaching the Cross, a spirit led you there, that’s for sure, but the Holy Spirit did not lead you there because He is the Spirit of Truth. It makes no difference how many programs and activities they have, Satan always makes everything that is wrong very attractive. It makes no difference how big the building is and how large the crowds are, Satan is financing very well everyplace that is not preaching the Cross and The Truth that sets Free. Don't perish with the foolish - 1Cor.1:18.

Bread Crumbs “The Power of Believing” November 29

In the Christian, the power source for life, living, and labor is the indwelling person of the Holy Spirit. Jesus told His disciples that, “Without me you can do nothing.” After rising from the dead and ascending to the right hand of the Father, Jesus sent back the person of the Holy Spirit to live in all who would believe in Him. The Holy Spirit's first task is to bring the believer from death to life. We were dead in trespasses and sins, but by God's grace through faith, we have been made alive in Christ. Secondly, the Holy Spirit wants to help us in our everyday life. As the believer maintains faith in Christ and the Cross, the Holy Spirit supplies the power for righteous living. Even though it is normal for the new believer to desire to live holy, the power to do so comes only through the Holy Spirit. The believer’s faith must remain centered upon Christ and His finished work. And thirdly, the Holy Spirit baptism will supply the believer with power for service. In the promotion of the gospel, we battle forces far greater than ourselves. It takes the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit to perform any and all labor in successfully bringing the lost to Christ!

Romans 15:13 - Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 3:5
And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;

Here we see exactly what the entirety of the Old Covenant was really about. The pointing to Jesus Christ and His work at Calvary. All of the Old Covenant was type and shadow, and the Light of God has always shined upon Christ and His work on the Cross, causing everything behind it to be type and shadow of what He would fulfill! Moses was faithful in all of his house, and was a picture of the coming Christ who would be faithful in all of His house, but who was also the House Builder.
Jesus Christ became the Door to the sheep of God (John 10:11), after He went in through the Door Himself (John 10:2). We as the Body of Christ have entered in through the Door, and are today IN Christ, who is our House forever and forever! Every time we look into God’s Word, we should see a greater picture of Jesus, for all things are by Him, for Him, from Him and to Him (Romans 11:36).

LET’S TALK ABOUT FAITH (November 29, 2020)

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

There are two things most needed to remember when talking about faith. The first is that it is THE FAITH of the Son of God who loved us and gave Himself for us (Galatians 2:20), and second, THE FAITH we have obtained is “The Measure” of THAT FAITH and is only obtained through the Righteousness of God and our Savior The Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:1)

This FAITH only works by THAT love (Galatians 2:20, 5:6), which is the object of the Cross of Christ. If one’s FAITH is not in the blood of Christ, the Righteous work of Christ carried out at Calvary, it is surely not in the Word of God, but rather it is in ourselves while only using God’s Word for self Righteous and fleshly purposes.

Moses did not say, “Behold the Words of the Covenant”, but rather “Behold the Blood” of the Covenant which the Lord had made with His people CONCERNING ALL THE WORDS OF THE COVENANT (Exodus 24:6-8). If one’s FAITH is not securely in Christ and His atoning work on the Cross for Salvation and daily Sanctification, it is not in the Word of God at all! Don’t get mad, but rather shout glory and praise God that you don’t have to waste one more day in the place where you have held yourself bound for so long! Put your FAITH in Christ and His work at Calvary, and you will be walking with the Lord!

Bread Crumbs “The Weakness of Flesh” November 30

By becoming a new creation in Christ, the believing sinner experiences the beginning of a marvelous transformation. Included in this regeneration process is a new heart and a new spirit. The old sinful nature we were once dominated by loses its right to rule. The believer receives a new nature, a Godly nature, one that causes us to desire to live right and please God. The transformation from what we used to be to what God desires for us to become can only be carried out by the newly implanted indwelling power of the Holy Spirit. However, we still find ourselves living in the predicament of the flesh. Flesh is a term that simply describes that which pertains to being human. Sadly, the flesh has been so corrupted by the sin nature, the world’s system, and powers of darkness, that even the born-again man is not capable of producing sanctification and growth by the means of flesh. Only as we trust in Christ and what He did for us at Calvary can the Holy Spirit carry out the work of progressive sanctification. Having a desire to change is not enough! We must encounter and embrace the power to be changed, which is only made available when one's faith remains in Christ and the Cross.

Matthew 26:41 - Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
