LET’S TALK ABOUT FAITH (December 3, 2020)

Notice the phrase, “The Righteousness of FAITH”
If Righteousness is not the fruit of FAITH, it is not biblical FAITH.

Romans 4:13
For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF FAITH.
The ministry of the New Covenant is the ministry of the Spirit, which is the ministry of Righteousness

2 Corinthians 3:8-9
8 How shall not the MINISTRY OF THE SPIRIT be rather glorious?
9 For if the ministry of condemnation/Law be glory, much more doth the MINISTRY OF RIGHTEOUSNESS exceed in glory.
So we see that not only did we obtain FAITH through the Righteousness of God (2 Peter 1:1), which is what God did in Christ at the Cross, but also THAT FAITH will at all times bear God’s Righteous fruit, for New Covenant Ministry is the Ministry of the Righteousness of FAITH.

1 Corinthians 1:18
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

The power of who? The power of God!

Faith in anything other, even if a mixture will reduce us to only the power of men, but faith in the Cross of Christ among us who are saved, it is God at work and His power!

His power to save
His power to keep
His power to baptize us in the Holy Spirit
His power to labor in us

Bread Crumbs “Truth Mixed with Error” December 4

One of the chief tools of our adversary the devil is deception. Satan is wise enough to know that most Christians will not fall for a lie that is painfully obvious. A born-again believer has been given a new nature and his default desire is to please God. To get the believer to travel in a direction or to believe a doctrine that is not pleasing to God, Satan became an expert at mixing the truth with a lie. The half-truth veils a lie from the understanding of the believer and causes them to accept something that is contrary to God’s will. Even though it sounds right it is contrary to the proper understanding and interpretation of God’s Word. God’s Word will always point us to the need for righteous living and internal change. We must understand where God wants us to go and how we are to arrive there. If a believer’s interpretation of the written word takes them away from faith in Christ alone for justification, sanctification, or maintenance, it is almost a guarantee that a lie has been mixed with truth. That makes what the believer has accepted as truth, error. Beware of your adversary and be on the lookout for his mixing of truth with error.

1 Timothy 4:1 - Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 3:10
Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.

It is with the heart that man must believe upon God unto Righteousness (Romans 10:10), so He can serve God in the only avenue which God prescribed for men to serve Him, which is Righteousness (Luke 1:74-75, Romans 6:17-22). The Born Again Christian is created in Righteousness and True Holiness (Ephesians 4:24). Righteousness without doubt is always experienced from the heart THEN works its way outward and never the opposite.

These folks of that generation knew in their head what God wanted, but would not believe it in their hearts, and this is where God wants to do the work. Unless we are trusting God “with the heart”, we do not know His Ways, and He is grieved. A very important question for the Child of God today is, “Am I able to sense when the Holy Spirit is grieved while I am following false doctrine?” If not, then maybe it is only my conscience dealing with me when I actually carry out an act of sin, and that happens even among the lost world. Time to wake up, but for the sleeping Christian, the wake up call is only unto Righteousness, therefore come back to the Cross of Jesus Christ so that you can, NOT sense His presence which you have at all times, but rather sense His leading, His being pleased with proper biblical faith, or if He is grieved!

LET’S TALK ABOUT FAITH (December 4, 2020)

Everything we do as the Children of God that pleases God, we do by faith (2 Corinthians 5:7), so that it might be Grace in which we stand and live (Romans 4:16, 5:2, 1 Peter 5:12).

If we, after years of becoming the Children of God, are still in the same place of being a baby Christian, there is a problem with our FAITH, for FAITH is what we walk and live by, and will always cause us to grow and to mature in the things of the Lord!
If we are stuck in a rut and not growing, the reason is here given, and is because we have remained unskillful in the Word of Righteousness.

This has taken place throughout the centuries of the Church’s existence either because the Scriptures are not being taught in their Righteous context (Proverbs 8:8), which is the Way of the Cross, and YES, that is ALL Scripture, OR they are, but we aren’t mixing faith with them. Verse 14 reveals that growth will require a people of God who are being exercised by reason of use of the Words of God’s Righteousness, NOT to discern between right and wrong, but rather good and evil!

Hebrews 5:12-14
12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

NOTE: The Faith of the Christian is the Righteousness of FAITH, therefore when FAITH is biblical, it will produce the fruits of Righteousness, which is also daily deliverance, growth and maturity!

LET’S GET BACK TO THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF FAITH

All of God’s Words are in Righteousness (Prov 8:8)

All fruit that comes from faith is that of Righteousness
(Romans 4:13)

Faith only comes by hearing and hearing by God’s Word (Rom 10:17)

And when Faith comes, it is always the Righteousness of Faith (Rom 4:13)

Bread Crumbs “Self-Control” December 5

Most arguments that occur between two people are usually caused as the result of a lack of self-control on the part of one or the other. Sometimes the inability to operate in self-control happens simultaneously in the hearts and minds of both parties, and that's when things really get out of control. Words are said, actions are taken that could possibly destroy a friendship, a solid relationship, or even that which would ruin a good working environment. One of the qualities that the Holy Spirit desires to build into the believer is that of temperance or self-control. To be honest it is far less self-control as much as it is allowing oneself to be brought under the control, guidance, and leading of the Holy Spirit. In more than one altercation I have had the Holy Spirit to lead me to stop speaking and start to practice my “shut ups.” It was this action that saved a friendship, a working relationship, or kept me from an uncomfortable evening at home. Remember that it is always the responsibility of the stronger Christian to yield themselves to the Holy Spirit and pave the way to peace. As a believer, you do not always have to have the final word.

Proverbs 14:29 - He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 3:11
So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.

The Apostle Paul reveals in the letter to the Church in Rome that not all of Israel is Israel, which the word Israel refers to the people of God, and just because someone was born inside the nation of Israel and was of Abraham’s loins, it did not make them the people of God. The people of God serve Him with their hearts, and know His Ways, through faith in His Redemptive plan. No, they are not perfect, but they are following their Lord. Those who do not serve God with their hearts are in unbelief and will not enter into His Eternal rest now or ever.

Faith is believing God and trusting Him with the heart, as He only deals with the heart of man (1 Samuel 16:7), and that which man must believe with the heart is that they are guilty sinners, and that God sent His only begotten Son, The Lord Jesus Christ to die for them in their place so that they who believe upon Him can be forgiven. Everything with the Lord must originate in the heart, as there and there alone is where Faith originates and operates. Everything with the Lord has to be by Faith so that it can be by Grace (Romans 4:16). Grace is what God does in and through our lives when He finds one’s Faith in His Son and His Son’s atoning sacrifice. If you’ve moved on beyond the Cross, you’ve moved on without God’s leading (Galatians 1:6, 3:1-3, 5:1-4). Good news is that you can come back today!

LET’S TALK ABOUT FAITH (December 5, 2020)

Because it is our FAITH which overcomes the world, yet Jesus said that He overcame the world, The Holy Spirit desires to be able to rightly divide these two statements within our hearts.

Jesus tasted and overcame death by the Grace of God (Hebrews 2:9, 14), through FAITH (Galatians 2:20), and DAILY as we partake of that Sacrificial work through FAITH, reckoning ourselves to be dead indeed to Sin (The Sin Nature - Romans 6:11), we find, NOT God overlooking our sin, but His strength and power to overcome the world of sin we are surrounded by and attacks our own hearts daily!

THE FAITH THAT SAVED US IS THE ONLY FAITH THAT WORKS, FOR THERE CHRIST OVERCAME THE WORLD, AND WE WERE THERE CRUCIFIED WITH HIM

1 John 5:4
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Galatians 6:14
But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

The Cross is the only means God has provided for man to have Victory over anything and everything the Devil might use against us to destroy us!! (Col.2:15) Therefore Satan’s strategy is to stop men short of the Cross to embrace something that sounds good but without Power to crush his head. For this same reason he attempts to cause those who have embraced the Cross to leave its Power and place of Victory for other things!! (Col.1:23, 2Tim.4:7) To accomplish this he will almost always use someone with a smile on their face and a Bible in their hand! Don’t fall for it!! Stay Determined!!! 1Cor.2:2

Bread Crumbs “The Wounded Soul” December 6

The person who is struggling with a physical illness faces a difficult battle. A person could lose their energy, their drive, or their desire to even try. Sickness of a physical nature is no simple opponent to overcome. Having said that, we should also recognize that an individual whose spirit has been wounded by crushing circumstances may have an even harder road to recovery. When the heart has been broken by a soul-rending incident, the person affected may even lose the will to live. To get out of bed can become a difficult exercise. I know that there are some self-righteous folk who might be critical of a person in this condition. But I remind you that Jesus came to heal the broken-hearted, not to pour scorn upon them. These issues are real and should not be taken lightly, made fun of, or criticized. For those of you in that valley of darkness, I am so thankful to be able to tell you that there is a way out of your despair and despondency. Call on the name of Jesus and let the true balm of Gilead bring peace to your broken spirit. He will not turn you away!

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 3:12
Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

“Any of you” is speaking of us today in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. An evil heart of unbelief can be found AGAIN in the heart of the Child of God, and it will not be Him departing from us, but rather us removing ourselves from Him (Galatians 1:6). It is so important to daily guard our hearts with diligence, because God says out of our own hearts come the issues of our lives (Proverbs 4:23, Matthew 15:18-19). Bad things may be happening all around us or even to us by others, but God holds us responsible for how we respond from the heart, which will always be based on what we are believing with the heart.

This is the very reason Jesus taught that if one realizes that He is the Savior and they choose to follow Him, they must first DENY THEMSELVES, take up their cross (Faith in the work of Christ at the Cross), to be able to follow Him daily (Luke 9:23). All of our issues come out of our hearts, and we better be learning how to guard our hearts by a continual believing with our hearts unto God’s Righteousness! Jesus provided more than enough when He died for all of us, therefore let all of us be found trusting in all of Him!

LET’S TALK ABOUT FAITH (December 6, 2020)

Because Righteousness is what we are required to be to become right with God, and what we are required to serve to be able to serve God, we were given “The Measure of The FAITH” of the Son of God who loved us and GAVE Himself for us (Romans 12:3, Galatians 2:20), so that God’s Righteousness could be by FAITH and not our works (Philippians 3:9).

Romans 4:5-6
5 But to him that WORKS NOT, BUT BELIEVES on him that justifieth the ungodly, HIS FAITH IS COUNTED FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth RIGHTEOUSNESS WITHOUT WORKS

Christians BELIEVE TO SEE the works of God (John 6:28-29)

Religion and flesh work and deny God with their own works (Titus 1:16)

Much is being said about faith these days, but faith without the Cross as it's object is a misplaced faith that God will not honor. The Message of the Cross brings our focus to a single object of faith which is the Cross (The Sacrificial Death of Jesus on the Cross - 1Cor.2:2) for all things that pertain to Life and Godliness - Rom.8:32, 2Peter1:3. The Message of the Cross is the ONLY message that comes with Power to change lives and bring forth Fruit when it is believed - 1Cor.1:18, 1Cor.2:4-5, John15:4-5, Gal.5:22-23, Col.1:6, Phil.1:11. Therefore God's ministers always preach the Cross: The Blood Sacrifice of Jesus; all the time and for everything, and warning every man to turn from everything else - Col.1:28, 2Tim.3:5. The Cross is what the Bible is all about! Anything else is deception that scatters the faith of the people where shipwreck, death, and destruction is certain - John12:32, Luke11:23. Clinging to the Cross, turning from everything else, and going on with Jesus!!

Rather than just identifying with those who preach the Cross on social media and Facebook, make a real show of Faith and leave that dead and apostate church you're still in because of relationships and family to assemble with those who are determined to preach nothing but the Light and Life-giving Gospel of the Cross. This is the difference between those who are earnestly contending for The Faith and those who are earnestly pretending, still holding on to all their excuses that are holding them in bondage.

Bread Crumbs “Make Time For Praise” December 7

As a believer, we find time for everything with the exception of setting aside enough time to consistently praise the Lord. We complain about the circumstances of life, the difficulties that surround us, the attacks against our person, the lack of financial means, or a variety of other things. While some of these complaints are valid to be sure, many are simply an expression of worry and concern that affords no credit to the Lord Jesus and His ability to meet our needs. Rather than spending the day complaining, griping, moaning, and feeling sorry for ourselves; we would be better off using our voices to praise the Lord? Would it not it be better to glorify His name and thank Him in advance for the things that we trust Him to do? Would it not be better to give Him glory and honor for all the wonderful things He has already provided? Let us always recall, as we go through our day, that the Lord is forever and always worthy of our praise. Our hearts will be made glad as we travel through the hours recollecting all the grace and goodness He has brought into our lives. As our spirit soars upwards, let us declare with our mouths the glory of our God.

LET’S TALK ABOUT FAITH (December 7, 2020)

The Old Covenant Saints of God, although they lived in FAITH and died in FAITH, never received the promises that we as the Children of God have today In Christ Jesus, yet their FAITH allowed them to see the promises afar off, and FAITH persuaded them enough so they could embrace them and confess them! WOW!!

Much more today, the Saints of God under the New Covenant have the very portion/measure of the FAITH (Romans 12:3) of the Son of God who loved us and gave Himself for us (Galatians 2:20), and which allows us daily to embrace and confess what we have in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Where FAITH is, there is an embracing and confessing of the SUBSTANCE of what FAITH is providing (Hebrews 11:1). What is FAITH embracing and confessing in and through your life today?

Hebrews 11:13
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 3:13
But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Exhorting one another refers to encouraging and edifying one another, and obviously is a HUGE part of God’s Way of the Church functioning together as the Body of Christ. He tells us to do this TODAY, because yesterday is gone forever and tomorrow may never come. We need to wake up and realize that TODAY is all we have, and to disagree is to live in fantasy. If we opt out of God’s Way, we put ourselves through much un-needed hardships. It’s called flesh. The alternative is to become hardened through the deceitfulness of sin (The Sin Nature), which is who is large and in charge when we are not trusting in the Sacrifice of Christ at Calvary.

How do I know I am trusting in the Sacrifice of Christ today, and not just saying the words or attempting to function on some prayer I said 40 years ago? The answer is that I’m denying myself again today, taking up my cross and following Christ and the fruit is there to be seen. A part of that fruit is exhorting and edifying one another daily while we still have TODAY. Humanity is only in charge of one thing and one thing only. What they put their faith in. Faith in the Cross of Christ allows the Holy Spirit to lead us into all Truth where “The Sin Nature” no longer dominates us (Romans 6:14) with excuses and bondages (Romans 2:14-15), but faith in ANYTHING other traps us in the chains of what SELF thinks, and SELF can only be eliminated through faith in Christ and what He did at Calvary.
