This 5 minute clip won't make you want to change your mind either, as it shouldn't. Run far away from these nutjobs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2V7KbbfRHA
This was so creepy, I had to shut it off! I'm not sure if it was demonic or dementia, or maybe both, but that was not of God! When you see this kind of video, it really just confirms what liars and false teachers these people are! And Hagin was supposed to be the "daddy" of the whole Word Faith movement.

Very sad! I hope I can get that video out of my mind, soon!

It takes a special kind of person to watch demonic videos like these, in order to refute them. (I am not one of those who can watch this kind of disgusting behavior long, for sure!) Last year, there was Osteen thread. I decided to read some of his sermons. Give him a chance to shine. Besides being infantile and written at about a grade 4 level, there was no knowledge of the bible, terrible exegetical mistakes, and always pushing for money and happiness as the goal of our Christian walk!

The goal of our Christian walk is to be transformed into the likeness of Christ, the one who had no place to lay his head, to allow the Holy Spirit to change our character, through suffering, trials, and difficulties. (Romans 5:3-5; Romans 12:1-2; 2 Cor. 11:23-29 etc!)

I also posted Osteen's sermon here and "analyzed" it. I don't think anyone even commented on it, agreeing or disagreeing. Maybe I overwhelmed them? Our underwhelmed?

I dare anyone to actually read their sermons, and look at how many verses are used, and how they are used. A verse never stands in isolation.

Basic Bible Interpretaton means context, context, context! The gospel itself includes the whole bible! The Word Faith Gospel, no matter what person is preaching it, is not Biblical, in that it reflects a truncated view of the whole of Scripture. The selectivity of these evangelists allow them not only to espouse a view not taught anywhere in the NT, but also to carefully avoid hundreds of texts that stand squarely in opposition to their teaching!

Joanie Marie posts devotion after devotion by Joseph Prince. He often uses Greek, but he does not translate the words correctly, according to 3000+ years of the knowledge of both Classical and Koine Greek, to say nothing of Byzantine and modern Greek. They twist the words to mean something different and always to support their heresy. How easy to seduce people into their false gospel by throwing out a few Greek words to make themselves impressive, when they either do not know Greek (or Hebrew) or they are changing the definition to suit their own agenda!

Grace777 is another one who does that all the time. He took a Greek word, metanoia, and actually changed the word to mean something different, that is not the gospel. When he came out and said that repentance was just "changing your mind" like if you change your mind about whether you are going to the grocery store or farmer's market, I finally saw how this ugly game of distorting the Bible gets!

We won't even get into all the people that quote one verse, or 1/4 of a verse, in the case of Isa. 53:5d. They pull a long chapter and book out of context, which is how Jesus died to heal our sin sick souls.

"She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”)." Matt 1:21-23.

Who was the prophet mentioned above? The same Isaiah that wrote Isa. 53 and wrote this prophecy in Isa. 9. The book of Isaiah was written for 2 reasons:

1. To encourage the people to repent of their sins!
2. To encourage the people that the Messiah who would forgive their sins would come (700 years later!)

To take Isa. 53:5d out of context, means ripping it out of not just the verse, but the chapter and the whole Bible. I literally see this in every Word Faith preacher I hear or read. It is a cobbled together, uncontextal gospel, that is contrary to the Bible.

I urge everyone to stop reading these preachers, and just read the Bible through a few times or 50. When you start reading the words in context, you begin to realize why Word Faith is a heresy. Because, it is a "different gospel."

"I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!" Gal 1:6-9

Yep, every single WoF proponent, on here in joaniemarie, Grace777X70 (and whomever else the shoe fits) and those everywhere else have on thing in common, and that is to twist the Word of God, exactly in the manner the first false gospel was twisted to deceive Adam and Eve. They treat the Scriptures like some book of incantations, as if the verses can just be pulled out of context, wrested, and used like dark magic to fit whatever they believe. They have no respect for what God has said, nor for properly handling what is written. Give them properly exegeted Scripture and they laugh at it, and twist it out of context.

There is only one spirit that comes to mind who could be the mastermind behind all that wresting of truth, and he makes him and his false ministers appear as angels of light.

Neither of us is alarmed by what you bring that is correct.

I can only hope you to be alarmed by what I see you bring that is incorrect.

Nope, no alarm here whatsoever, and I certainly am no more moved that you agree with me than that you disagree.

For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ. 2 Corinthians 2:17 (peddling; to retail and adulterate the Word)

For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:13-14

Nothing new under the sun...

People that do not believe in healing make things "metaphorically" speaking.

I suppose that the demons being cast out would have to be "metaphorical" too which what Jesus was doing and that He healed all that came to Him of their illnesses? He did say "I am the Lord that heals you and forgives you and forget none of His benefits in Psalm 103."

Matthew 8:16-17 (NASB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] When evening came, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed; and He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were ill.

[SUP]17 [/SUP] This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet: "HE HIMSELF TOOK OUR INFIRMITIES AND CARRIED AWAY OUR DISEASES."

This is from Isaiah 53.

As, I say - each is entitled to believe what they want. I won't call others names and insult them because they don't believe in healing. I won't call them a cult, or false teachers with itching ears or whatever other derogatory thing that comes to mind for those that disagree in some subjects.

The video was very obvious example of psychosis, more specifically the mass psychosis.

There is a significant difference between psychosis and neurosis. People having problems with psychosis do not realize that their emotions or halucinations are wrong.

People with neurosis are aware of it, at least partially.

So I do not think charismatics/pentecostals are liars, they believe it and thats why they experience it more and more freqently.

I wonder, no psychiatrists in the USA talk/write about this? It is really very obvious.

Concerning those who preach the lie of the prosperity gospel:

Those who have believers as their masters must not be disrespectful to them because they are brethren, but must serve them all the more, because those who partake of the benefit are believers and beloved. Teach and preach these principles. If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness, he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions, and constant friction between men of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. 1 Timothy 6:2-5

I love it when people encourage me to preach the gospel of the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ!

Let's look at it through what scripture has to say about repentance ( changing our mind - the way we think ) concerning preaching the gospel. I know we have been taught differently through our religious upbringing and beliefs handed down to us. Let's let God's word speak life to us.

Peter preached the gospel of the grace of Christ. to Cornelius
..no word used for repentence was said

Acts 10:43-44 (NASB)
[SUP]43 [/SUP] "Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins."

[SUP]44 [/SUP] While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message.

They were not told to "repent" here.

I love how the Holy Spirit "falls upon " them as soon as they hear about the forgiveness of sins proclaimed to them because of Christ!

Peter got in trouble with the Jewish Christians when he went back because he went into a gentile's house and preached the gospel to them...he says in Acts 11:17,18

Acts 11:17-18 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] "Therefore if God gave to them the same gift as He gave to us also after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God's way?"

[SUP]18 [/SUP] When they heard this, they quieted down and glorified God, saying, "Well then, God has granted to the Gentiles also the repentance that leads to life."

What was there repentance even though the word "repent" was not used?...they changed their mind toward God and had faith in Jesus and in His complete forgiveness of sins. This is the gospel message.

Notice that
it was God that granted them repentance.

New Covenant repentance is not something we conjure up on our own nor is it a work we produce.

2 Tim 2:24-25 says that God may grant them repentance so that they may know the truth. God grants the repentance..not a work we do on our own.

Paul preached the gospel of grace here in the only recorded time in scripture.

Acts 13:38-39 (NASB)
[SUP]38 [/SUP] "Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you,

[SUP]39 [/SUP] and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses.

Again ..no telling them to "repent" was voiced here either by Paul...but Paul did tell them .."
urged them to continue in the grace of God"

Both of the examples we have of New Covenant preaching about the gospel of grace had NO words of telling people to repent.

These clearly show that "repentance " was not told to them and yet they did repent to believe on Christ.

So, repentance does not mean "turn from sin '..it means change your mind ( change your way of thinking and rely on God only for things dealing with your life) and turn to God and believe in Jesus and what He has already done.

Yes - this fruit of already repented to believe in Christ effects changes in us and it does include how we view sinning in all it's forms from living the homosexual lifestyle to exhibiting malice and the slandering of others in the body of Christ.

There is a change after we come to Christ and His life in us transforms us. This is where we see the "fruit" of repentance. Fruit is not the "root" of repentance.

Fruit of an exchanged life comes after we have "repented " - changed our thinking to rely on Christ's work only for salvation.

We all need to repent every day as we hear the beauty of our Lord proclaimed!

Brethern ...I urge you to believe in the awesome greatness and splendor of our Lord's magnificent finished work on our behalf!

Sounds good but there's a whole lot more to it than just Greek...

The Greek words are just some examples that stand out to me! There is so much more to this heresy. I started a thread a while back that went on forever, showing how the exegetics was wrong, health is not guaranteed in the Bible, nor is it part of the atonement. God does heal people, but not in the way the Word Faith people cast it.

I'm just doing research for a post on the Wealth side of this false gospel. I'll probably put it up in a few days, when these other posts are finished.

Thanks for commenting

Repentance comes with the hearing of Christ and what He has already done. We should be living in a constant mode of repenting ( changing our minds about what we believe ) whenever we hear a new truth about the beauty of our Lord.

Romans 10:17 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP]
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

The word "repentance" - metanoia as been shown by others simply in the original greek means " to change the mind - ".

In Jesus and Paul's day the word would be used in a sentence like this. " I was going to the synagogue but I metanoia (changed my mind ) and went to the market.

There are "fruits" of repentance ( changing the mind ) as in the case above...the person "went to the market". ( every fiber of my being wants to say..."and this little piggy stayed home".....but I will refrain...:) )

To us it means to change our mind to stop relying on ourselves and our thinking and turn to God. Stop living our own life with our own thinking and come to Christ and let His life live through and in you. Receive all that Jesus did for us in His finished work.

We should be repenting ( changing how we think towards something ) constantly as we see the Lord's true nature, love and grace revealed to and in us.

There will always be "fruits" of having a changed mind ( having repented ) to God but the "fruit" is not the repentance within itself. True repentance is the "root" before the "fruit" comes.

The fruit will manifest itself in the form of having a changed heart because we are a new creation in Christ.

This will also show in behavior as the life of Christ transforms our outward life to reflect what has already happened in our inner man - that new creation in Christ
.

Sometimes our religious traditions can "hi-jack" the meanings of words and can present false assumptions.

Here is a video for those that like to watch them that talks about how the English word "repent" got hi-jacked by religion. This shows where the meaning of "repentance" in our minds has evolved from the latin usage in the Catholic Church to our modern day beliefs.
