The נפשׁ becomes a living being: by God's breathing נשׁמת חיים into the nostrils of its בשׂר; of man Genesis 2:7 (J); by implication of animals also Genesis 2:19 (J); so Psalm 104:29; Psalm 104:30; compare Psalm 66:9; man is נֶפֶשׁ חַיָּה, a living, breathing being Genesis 2:7 (J); elsewhere נפשׁ חיּה always of animals Genesis 1:20,24,30; Genesis 9:12,15,16 (all P), Ezekiel 47:9;

The Greek words are just some examples that stand out to me! There is so much more to this heresy. I started a thread a while back that went on forever, showing how the exegetics was wrong, health is not guaranteed in the Bible, nor is it part of the atonement. God does heal people, but not in the way the Word Faith people cast it.

I'm just doing research for a post on the Wealth side of this false gospel. I'll probably put it up in a few days, when these other posts are finished.

Thanks for commenting

...should be living in a constant mode of repenting ( changing our minds about what we believe )
Oh the irony!!! And, by the way, there are no "new truths about the LORD" that's just another heresy you believe and teach.

I remember when I was taught in my church teachings and in my traditions that women teachers were in heresy because of what Paul said to Timothy and in 1 Cor. But I asked the Lord about it and He showed me the truth about that there is neither male nor female in Christ and showed me other women leaders back in the NT.

I repented at the "new truths the Lord showed me about Himself in this area". If this offends people - so be it. All is well with me and My Lord!

( However I didn't throw a sackcloth on me and throw dust on my head when I repented like they did in the Jewish culture in the OT but my mind was changed in the way I thought and it was renewed to the truth and now I glean great teachings from some women teachers as the Holy Spirit reveals Christ to me through them. )

I love repenting! It is a major blessing from God.

Why not just say"changing your mind" or use the Greek?

Repetance means to turn from sin, which can only happen if you change your mind about your actions and stop self justifying sin.

Repentance is not just a change of mind.,it is a change of mind from sin and rebellion to God towards God's truth and His ways.

People change their minds all the time, but unless it's away from worldly wisdom towards heavenly wisdom,it is NOT repentance.

The fruits of repentance will lead to a Spirit-filled directed life manifesting the love and grace of Christ that is in our spirits now because we are new creations in Him.

Living from the life of Jesus that is in us will lead us to a completely different life totally depended on Him alone for salvation and life. This is the fruit of repentance and it is a work of God in our lives.

Changing our minds on how we now are relying on Christ's work on the cross and resurrection will bring the "turning from sin". The first sin to turn from if you want to use that term - is unbelief in Christ's work on the cross for the forgiveness of sins. That is the gospel message.

Repent - change the way you think and trust in what Christ has already done alone for salvation and life in His finished work.

Then the fruit of His life will bring about the changes in our behavior empowered by the Holy Spirit and the grace of God operating in and through us like it is meant to.

The proper renewing of the mind in the grace and love of God for us is paramount for growing up in Christ.

For example someone could change their mind about Hinduism and become a Muslim.

That is not repentance unto SALVATION.

What does that look like in a practical sense?

What does God lead you to do daily or even weekly with your life?

I agree... repentance unto salvation is believing in Christ's work on the cross and resurrection for the forgiveness of sins.

Changing the way you think from being a Hindu to believing as a Muslim and changing your mind to believe in Christ's work for salvation instead of your own way of thinking for eternal life are the same thing - metanoia in Greek - which literally means "change the mind."

Some commentaries will "add" their own thoughts on it and say that it means to turn from sin and technically it would be true because we are turning from the sin of unbelief to believe on Christ.

As I said - there will be "fruits of already repented to believe on Christ "which will manifest as an exchanged life through the grace and life of Christ being manifested in our daily walk.

The gospel message is not - stop sinning. It's believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 16:30-31. Rom. 10:9-10. The sinning after already repented to believe is the fruit of repentance.

Anyway that's all I'm writing about it. I just gave my view and I'll leave it at that...:)

All is well and I love repenting! I believe in hyper-repenting as I see new truths about the grace and love of our Father and Lord towards us and others.

Jonah 3:9 Hebrew Text Analysis

Jonah 3:10 Hebrew Text Analysis

It says that God turned away from his anger because they repented of their evil ways.

"Turn away" is not the same word as "repent"

Should read

"God saw their works, that they repented of their evil way; and Godturned away from the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not

It shows up in many different ways.

Right now the Lord is showing me His love for me and how He really views me. I am repenting of the ways that I thought previously in my mind concerning this subject as He shows me new truths along those lines. The fruit of this is that I have constant unbroken communion with Him with no interference as I am conscious of being in constant union with Him.

I have been meditating on 1 John where he says "Beloved we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us."

The word of Christ Himself and His love must originate out of the dry pages of scripture into a living vibrancy of my own heart and thus renew my mind to the truth of His love for me. There is a difference between intellectually knowing something and to experientially "know" things spiritually in truth.

Knowing His love releases His love to flow out of me to others as well as viewing myself as He sees me. We love because He first loved us.

Below is what happens when you do several things: 1) You make up your own word meanings and then apply them; 2) You literally deny, by doing this, what the Holy Spirit intended; 3) Then throw in continuing revelation because at that point truth becomes completely subjective to the false teachers 'The LORD spoke directly to me".

Take note of the travesty below. Even a babe in Christ should be capable of seeing the many errors:

Repentance comes with the hearing of Christ and what He has already done. We should be living in a constant mode of repenting ( changing our minds about what we believe ) whenever we hear a new truth about the beauty of our Lord.

Romans 10:17 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP]
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

The word "repentance" - metanoia as been shown by others simply in the original greek means " to change the mind - ".

In Jesus and Paul's day the word would be used in a sentence like this. " I was going to the synagogue but I metanoia (changed my mind ) and went to the market.

There are "fruits" of repentance ( changing the mind ) as in the case above...the person "went to the market". ( every fiber of my being wants to say..."and this little piggy stayed home".....but I will refrain...:) )

To us it means to change our mind to stop relying on ourselves and our thinking and turn to God. Stop living our own life with our own thinking and come to Christ and let His life live through and in you. Receive all that Jesus did for us in His finished work.

We should be repenting ( changing how we think towards something ) constantly as we see the Lord's true nature, love and grace revealed to and in us.

There will always be "fruits" of having a changed mind ( having repented ) to God but the "fruit" is not the repentance within itself. True repentance is the "root" before the "fruit" comes.

The fruit will manifest itself in the form of having a changed heart because we are a new creation in Christ.

This will also show in behavior as the life of Christ transforms our outward life to reflect what has already happened in our inner man - that new creation in Christ
.

Sometimes our religious traditions can "hi-jack" the meanings of words and can present false assumptions.

Here is a video for those that like to watch them that talks about how the English word "repent" got hi-jacked by religion. This shows where the meaning of "repentance" in our minds has evolved from the latin usage in the Catholic Church to our modern day beliefs.

Hi Grace: If a spirit told you that the scripture about no male or female in Christ, voided out the scripture where Paul said that women were not to be in authority over men in the church, then you Grace are listening to a false spirit and believing it to be God. As one Christian put it, be very careful what spirit you are following.

So in your mind and interpretation of some scriptures - women teachers are in error when they teach in a congregation where there are men?

This is an awesome video Grace777. Just listened to it all the way through when it got re posted here. Thanks for posting:

Feeling re-sorry vs re-thinking is a major difference. The condemnation and guilt is gone just as the Scriptures say. When our minds are changed about the Lord Jesus Christ finding that He took care of our sins on the cross. (This is major)

The kindness of God leads us to repentance (re-thinking) a changing of our minds the way we think about Him. He is not focused on sin at all because He sent Jesus to take care of sin. He loves us and sent Jesus to take away our sins and the quilt and shame and payment of sin. He is rich in kindness and forbearance and patience., He is for us not against us. Rom.2:4

Jesus has reconciled us to God through the cross. By grace through faith. "Change your mind., believe in Him." Believe in the love of God IN Christ. He is no longer our Judge but our loving heavenly Father.
Amen. The focus is on Jesus now not on us and sin because He took care of the sin. To know the love of God in Christ. As revelation comes we change our minds to begin to think in accordance with Him.

This was a Biblical message how can you find fault? To learn about and lean on the love of God in Christ is the message., the Gospel, the good news. Our sins are washed away in deepest sea., Just like the old hymn says;

My sins are washed away I know.... my sins are washed away I know... they are buried in the depths of the deepest seaaa , my sins are washed away I knowwww....

Does it overflow and start blessing others?

Sometimes your posts makes me feel too focused on me...

When do we move past what God does for us, to the things God can do through us?
