God is saying the same thing to you, "Put down your shields. Put down your swords. You're not going to have to worry, struggle or try to force it to happen." God is going ahead of you. He is going to drive out the inhabitants that are on your land. That means whatever is keeping you from your health, your joy, your abundance, your victory, that's your land. That's what God promised you. I believe, right now, He's beginning to drive them out. You're going to come into your land of health and wholeness! God is driving out sickness and disease. You're coming into your land of increase and promotion! He's driving out struggle and lack. You're going to come into your land of unprecedented favor. So keep standing and believing and watch Him move mightily on your behalf!

He says God is promising them health and to be made whole, that is their "land"

He says God promises them job promotions and wealth. That folks won't have to struggle....all they have to do is "believe"

You are okay with that doctrine?

I haven't finished reading yet, but I have something to say.
Kenneth Hagen said something here that is still being said today in WoF churches.
"If you are not being healed, then it's because you lack faith".
That's a scary thought.
It puts doubt on your whole relationship with Jesus.
You could start questioning "Am I really saved"? etc...
How does a Christian who is now doubting his relationship with God somehow force more faith into their lives so they can receive healing?
One way is to send and "we will pray for you. Look at us. God obviously hears our prayers."
So the person sends more money and is trapped in a life of defeat.
This was going on with Kenneth Hagen and goes on today.
But when has Joel Osteen ever asked for money and in return promised you propersity?
Ummm here. From his own website....,

https://www.joelosteen.com/Pages/Article.aspx?articleid=6473

"
If you don’t give the first 10% of your income to the Lord, the Bible says that you are robbing God and yourself because if you have no seed, you have no harvest. But when you sow your tithe to the Lord, you can expect a harvest in your finances."

Nah I got a good feeling about her.

Just not smart enough to put together a study without a few more hours of prayer and research.

Do you know how many people have prayed for me for all my problems over the years?
I guess I'm still alive and out of debt and praising God.
So I guess someone's prayers were answered.
And I just survived an emergency AAA aneurysm surgery that most people die instantly from.
Even the surgeon called it a miracle.
But I just can't line up what's been happening with me with the way it is preached on TV and all these WoF preachers.
You can't line it up because Jesus never made the promises these preachers teach.
He told the rich young man to go and sell everything.
He said He had nowhere to lay his head.
He said in this world we would have tribulation.
He said to pick up our cross daily.

I don't hear the wof in that.

I do, however, believe it would be God's wish to see us be well, but it would require constant miracles and the removal of humanity from the world system.
This will happen only upon Jesus' return.

Well that statement cancels out the legitimacy of almost all pastors in Christianity.
Poor analogy.

Point taken.
I remember hearing him say this but had forgotten.
I think I hear this Malachi stuff so much for so many years from all different sources that I tend to look past it because everyone uses it.
I've been to a lot of churches over the years that never would be called WoF and use the same Malachi verses.
I would say just about every denomination and non-denomination is Wof because just about every where in Christianity, Malachi 3:10 is used.
If anyone happens to know a preacher on you tube who speaks out against the use of Malachi 3:10, let's hear it.

Not the use of Malachi but the misuse of it and the added promise that if you give "seed" money you will receive a "financial harvest"

Preaching on tithes isn't sinful...making false promises and claiming they from God is wrong, dishonest and harmful to the Body of Christ.

Are you serious?

Maybe you have never heard a good sermon about money and tithing?

I have another thread.

http://christianchat.com/bible-disc...ou-can-save-all-you-can-give-all-you-can.html

Its kind of long but i can sum it up..

You give the church money not so God can bless you more, but so by your giving you can bless others and draw them back to God by His expression of love through your gift of money.

That is TOTALLY different message from "give money to get more money" message Joel Osteen preaches.

I attend a Methodist church by the way.

Hope you don't mind Arial that I comment here too., What I've come to see is the Bible clearly tells us not to worry about any of those things the world worries about. Worry for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication Phil.4:6-7

[SUP]6 [/SUP]Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition ([SUP][a][/SUP]definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.
[SUP]
7 [/SUP]And God’s peace [shall be yours, that [SUP][b][/SUP]tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall [SUP][c][/SUP]garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

We are not like the world anymore and we don't contend for things like the world must do. We have a Savior who wants to save us., A Provider who wants to provide for us., a Lover who wants to love us. The unsaved have no choice but to try to be their own providers and lovers and saviors.

They have no choice but to count on their own abilities in the world., or the abilities of other people. They have no choice but to fight and stress about all their needs and wants. Many people have ulcers and depression and fear about going without and being left destitute. Fear propels them to do all they can or be eaten up by the evils of the world.

But us Christians are called not to be like those without a heavenly Father. We have Him. He gave us His Son Who already went to the cross for our weaknesses and inabilities. All that we lack is found in Jesus. So one step at a time we learn to let go of the things in the world and how we used to do life and allow Jesus to provide everything we need for us.

This is not easy when we have always lived in a world that says we have to contend for and fight for everything we want including out smarting the next person to get a head.

In reality what we are doing is depending on our best to get us by or ahead in this world. It took time to unlearn how to not depend on myself. I've since learned that Jesus wants me to depend on Him alone. And in thanksgiving for all He has done make any other requests go to Him as well and in faith believing He will take care of me. Learning how to wait with great expectations He will come through because He loves me and cares for me.

He taught me this over a period time. I learned to take one step at a time and He gives grace for each tiny step of faith taken. He gives way and above the proportions we give Him. He knows we need to see Him working in our lives and that He has not left us alone. He won't leave us hanging. He is a REAL Provider. They are not only words. They are His actions on our behalf far and above all we can even ask or even think.

The sword people use in life for fighting with people and fighting our own battles we no longer need. We put down that sword and instead take up the sword of the Spirit. We learn to never let that sword down and we keep listening to Him and the Word of God.

We Keep hearing and hearing the Spirit and the Word and "thereby we are fed." We don't fight the world is what I believe Joel O. is saying. We will have tribulation in the world but Jesus has already defeated the flesh, the world and the devil for us. Our job is by faith to claim what He has already acquired for us.

Working out our own salvation is working out what Christ has already worked in us. He already promises we have not been given a spirit of fear. We have power and love and a sound mind now. But it takes time to work them out by faith. The spirit of fear is an evil spirit and is apposed to the Spirit of God in power and love and a sound mind. We have this power working in us to WILL and to DO of His good pleasure. We can't lose when we allow Him to show us how.

I disagree with you.
Your use of tithing creates a whole new problem and a whole new thread, and I'm sure you know it.
Since I disagree on your use of tithing as being a legitimate way to use Malachi 3:10, then if we are to continue, you must refrain from even mentioning it again and make your points some other way.

I personally don't believe in tithing 10%.

I believe we should keep for ourselves enough to live frugally and either save the rest or pour it into ministries that help other people.

Fortunately my church believes the same.

When they run a finance campaign, they clearly say what the money is to be used for:

General fund, building fund, children's ministry, hospitality, homeless, missions, etc.

Any member of the church can review the financial records.

We have a committee that approves and rejects spending and the whole church votes on the yearly budget (if you want to attend that business meeting)

"Refrain from even mentioning it again"? Are you serious?

Oh okay, got you..lol sorry, follies of the forum where we can cross post...

.
. We are, however, to support those who minister to us (1 Corinthians 9:1-14; 1 Galatians 6:6; 1 Timothy 5:17-18). We are to give to the poor, especially the saints (Acts 6:1-6; Romans 12:13; 1 Corinthians 16:1f.; 2 Corinthians 8 & 9; Gal. 2:10; 6:10; etc.). From 2 Corinthians 8 & 9 and Philippians 4, we certainly see that our giving should be out of gratitude, and something we joyfully do.

The whole concept of stewardship should abolish the mindset that says, “Ten percent of what I own is to be given to God, but the remaining ninety percent is mine.” It is all God’s.

As stewards, we are to wisely invest it for the glory of God and the advancement of His kingdom. In the 2 Corinthians (8 & 9) text and the Philippians 4 passage I do not see Paul appealing to the Law as the basis for giving, as though it was only our duty. I see Paul speaking of giving as though it were our delight, as it should be. All of this is to say that I would not seek to employ the Malachi text to badger saints to give. I would use the New Testament texts such as those I have mentioned to do so. We should give. Most of us should give more than we do. But I don’t personally find the Malachi text the compelling text for teaching others about giving.

I've mentioned before I don't believe in praying for a Mercedes Benz. I don't believe in wealth "promotions"
But I do believe in His promises of caring for me. He does it better than I ever could or anyone in my life ever has for that matter.

If we allow other people to distort the graciousness, loveliness and generosity of God we won't see amazing works go on in our lives. I never saw anything amazing and consistent until He showed me how to believe and trust Him for all my needs. And He does give in a much higher proportion than what we give Him.
