Believe according to whose work of faith, as a labor of love???? The things of God or those of sinful men?
The faith of God in respect to the Spirit of Christ or that of men's imaginations after their natural unconverted hearts?
No man can serve two Masters. Again of God or of men?
Two sides of the coin. I find it interesting when those who oppose OSAS “actual redemption” and not a kick start placing them where Adam and Eve were before they transgressed one sin the cause of the fall. They who hope to be found with a righteousness of their own flesh are in effect claiming... once dead in their trespasses and sin they remain dead in their trespasses and sin . The other side of the coin
.( ODAD) “once dead always dead” There simply is no limbo or purgatory in between.
The wage of one sin is still eternal separation from God never to rise to new spirit life forever more .
The OSAS side of the coin gives a new spirit and a new heart that will never die as our savoir works in us to both will and do his good pleasure..
It would seem you are offering another manner of faith other than the same spirit of faith according as it is written (the faith of God.) According to the “law of faith” below.
2Corinthians 4:13 We having the same
spirit of faith,
according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken;
we also believe, and therefore speak;
The apostles in Luke 9 were found guilty of such a manner of rejecting OSAS and Christ rebuked them as recorded...
Luk 9:55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not
what manner of spirit ye are of.
If a person does not believe unto the salvation of ones souls (OSAS) , as an anchor of the soul coming from a work of God’s faith or labor of His love it profits for nothing. That person has received their reward as false bragging rights showing their false pride. .
Crucifying Christ over and over because they have decided OSAS is not for them . I would say ignores the fact that he is of one mind and always without fail does what so ever his
soul pleases.
God who has no form turns us. It was the apostate non born again Jew that turned things upside down as if the work formed the Potter, who was doing the work of forming Christ in his new creation. it simply takes away God’s understanding making it without effect.
Isaiah 29:16 Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?
God reveals himself as of one mind, and asks the rhetorical question ..Who can turn him to change His mind?
He informs us he does what his soul desires that he always does. For he performs the thing that is appointed for us, a tip of the ice berg.
My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and
what his soul desireth, even that he doeth. For he performeth the thing that is
appointed for me: and many such things are with him. Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him.
For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me:Job 23:16
This gives us great confidence knowing if he would mark our sin (one) against us who could stand in his presence and receive mercy and grace. We fear him aright because with him there is forgiveness he forgives every sin. Without forgiveness of one sin the soul dies
As he has declared “For he performs the things that are appointed to us” so that we can work out the purpose of His will as he does work in us to both will and do His good pleasure as a imputed righteousness . Like that of Abraham and Rehab in the book of James a imputed righteousness . No man could be found with one idea of righteousness according to his own good works.
Psalms 35:9 And
my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.
Hebrews 10:38 Now the
just shall live
by faith: but if any man draw back,
my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
Hebrews 10:39 But we are not of them who
draw back unto perdition; but of them
that believe "to the saving of the
soul."
Hebrews 6:19 Which
hope we have as an
anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
The fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation is not reserved for those who have Christ as the anchor of their soul they know with Christ there is forgiveness it will devour them who least expect it . ODAD side of the coin.It does not devour those who believe to the saving of their souls (OSAS) the better thing that does accompany salvation. We are not the adversaries.
For if
we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which
shall devour the adversaries. Heb 10:26
