why oh why do people not " rightly divide the word of truth " to understand the difference between the covenants , its so sad , and causes so much confusion !!
Let's see if you understand the Difference, pertaining to SALVATION?
Malachi 3:6 (NASB)
6
"For I, the LORD, do not change;
therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.
So if I can find ONE example of How GOD saved ONE man, then we will know How GOD SAVES all men and women both in the OLD TESTAMENT and in the NEW TESTAMENT. Keep in mind that the WORD
BELIEVE carries a much deeper meaning than the English Word BELIEVE. It means much more than Intellectual Acknowledgement that something is TRUE,
IT MEANS YOU HAVE TO BE WILLING TO PUT YOUR WHOLE TRUST IN WHAT YOU CLAIM TO BELIEVE, or it does not count as genuine Belief.
Romans 4:3 (HCSB)
3 For what does the Scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness.
That then is HOW the GOD of this Universe SAVES all men and women. In particular:
ABRAHAM Believed GOD that HE would send a MESSIAH.
We Believe GOD did send the MESSIAH, JESUS CHRIST.
THAT IS THE SAME FAITH, the Faith of ABRAHAM.
What about the LAW? The LAW was NEVER Designed to Be a system of Does and Don't to make men Righteous before GOD.
It was designed to PROVE to men that THEY COULD NEVER MEASURE UP TO GOD'S STANDARDS.
James 2:10 (CSBBible)
10
For whoever keeps the entire law, and
yet stumbles at one point, is guilty of breaking it all.
Romans 3:20 (HCSB)
20
For no one will be justified in His sight by the works of the law, because
the knowledge of sin ⌊comes⌋ through the law.
So what is the Difference between the Old Covenant, and the New Covenant.
ONE THING, and that is PRESCRIBED WHEN JESUS became OUR HIGH PRIEST.
Hebrews 7:12-15 (ESV)
12 For when there is a change in the priesthood,
there is necessarily a change in the law as well.
13 For the one of whom these things are spoken belonged to another tribe, from which no one has ever served at the altar.
14 For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, and in connection with that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.
15 This becomes even more evident when another priest arises
in the likeness of Melchizedek,
[.That refers to being both High Priest and KING.]
SO WHAT DID CHANGE:
Exodus 31:12-18 (ESV)
12 And the LORD said to Moses,
13 “You are to speak to the people
of Israel and say, ‘Above all
you shall keep my Sabbaths,
for this is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I, the LORD, sanctify you.
14
You shall keep the Sabbath, because it is holy for you. Everyone who profanes it shall be put to death. Whoever does any work on it, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
15 Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day shall be put to death.
16
Therefore the people of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, observing the Sabbath throughout their generations, as a covenant forever.
17
It is a sign forever between me and the people of Israel that in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.’”
18 And he gave to Moses, when he had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.
THE NEW WORSHIP COMMAND:
Hebrews 10:23-25 (ESV)
23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.
24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,
25
not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
The ONLY DAY Mentioned it the Day of the Rapture.
NO! The SABBATH WAS NOT CHANGED TO SUNDAY! It always has been SATURDAY, and Always will be. The SABBATH has always be a sign of the Covenant
between GOD and Israel, it was NOT intended to be a sign of the Covenant between GOD and New Testament Church.
Romans 14:5 (HCSB)
5 One person considers one day to be above another day.
Someone else considers every day to be the same.
Each one must be fully convinced in his own mind.
I am one that believes I can worship any and all days of the WEEK. There is not a day, that I do not think about, and I am in awe of all the LORD has done with my life. Which is also Worship, as WELL As my weekly Worship Service, which is on a Sunday.
