They sure do amount to something after being born again.

That’s one of the reasons he gave himself for us:

Titus 2:14
[14] Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Romans 6:13
[13] Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

You are not worth responding to anymore than Dottie. You just keep on working, working, and working.

BTW, distorting the word of God, and denying the gospel, may be the worst sins of all!

So let me ask you do you: do you have an absolutely perfect understanding of everything in the Scripture? Perfect, flawless, and have everything committed to memory? Perfect flawless exegesis without one single solitary error....ever? From the moment that you were saved?
A salient point with which I agree. Exploring this further ...

Premise 1: distorting God's word is sinful
Premise 2: @Micaiah-imla no longer sins
Conclusion: @Micaiah-imla can exegete scripture without error and therefore would be the a most superior expositor I have ever encountered to the extent she would exposite. Dare I say 'a prophet'?

You are in terrible danger of going to hell because you didn't do enough good works I suppose correct? I mean that's the sin of omission, correct?

Between your eternal insecurity due to the risk of a future sin, and your incapacity to do all the good deeds that you should, it would seem that the odds of you "losing your salvation" are enormous and in fact mounting every single moment that passes.

Would the fact of God knowing the end from the beginning, yet chose us anyway, solve this problem of past, present, future sin? Understanding it I mean.

Heretics and cults always want to take away your peace with God, and they always want to bind us in the chains of works/lawkeeping to take away our freedom in Christ.

Let's boil this down to one singular question: Will any future sin condemn a Christian? Yes or no.
The Bible says that any believer who willfully sins, with knowledge of God’s word, despises his word and reproaches God himself; that soul shall be utterly cut off and shall suffer the same fiery indignation that the adversaries shall face in the day of judgment.

Let us therefore fear, lest a promise being left us of entering into his rest any of you should seem to come short of it (Hebrews 4:1).

No. I’m not accusing those who follow the Lord, those that take his words to heart; Like when he said “go, and do not sin anymore”.

Those sheep hear his voice.

OSAS don’t hear it. They hear another voice that tells them something else. It tells them to not “practice a particular sin”.

You did not understand what I said. I said, your Theology is like you are Accusing the LORD, of: fouling the water of the word with their OSAS stained feet.

They were under intense persecution and the temptation to join the Jews was overwhelming. The writer states that if so done, and there is willful sin, which I don’t know of any sin that isn’t, there will be no other sacrifice ever that will take away their sin. So fear of God will be their end.

A very tormenting life. Our refuge is the blood of Jesus, nothing else will ever do.

I’m sure that none of us who’ve been born from above is looking to sin on a daily basis. It’s uncomfortable to our conscience and we lose our peace if we don’t deal with it right away.

We can ignore this pricking for a time but as Paul said, the kicking of the pricks is a hard taskmaster. Thank God He gives us this and we ask our Father to forgive us.

Some of us are gentile minded moreso than others. But, don’t be a religious Jew. We have been given better.

I love the Jews by the way.

You completely fail to comprehend the book of Hebrews, the speaker, the audience the intent and the problem. Total fail.

According to you such a failure is a sin and this sin is going to send you to eternal hell, because the blood of Christ has not washed you from this iniquity, nor can it since that forgiveness event has now passed. It's all on you from here on out. Good luck you're going to need it.

There is no condemnation to those who are in (a fixed position) Christ Jesus....

Look at the Greek for the little word in....

We are either in Him or not. There’s no middle ground.

If we are then we are being formed into His likeness. How do we accomplish this? Peter gives the answer. By His promises! Walk with Him, talk with Him, and sprout!

2Pe 1:3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the full knowledge of the one who called us by his own glory and excellence.

2Pe 1:4 Through these he has given us his precious and wonderful promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, seeing that you have escaped the corruption that is in the world caused by evil desires.

2Pe 1:5 For this very reason, you must make every effort to supplement your faith with moral character, your moral character with knowledge,

2Pe 1:6 your knowledge with self-control, your self-control with endurance, your endurance with godliness,

2Pe 1:7 your godliness with brotherly kindness, and your brotherly kindness with love.

2Pe 1:8 For if you possess these qualities, and if they continue to increase among you, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in attaining a full knowledge of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah.

2Pe 1:9 For the person who lacks these qualities is blind and shortsighted, and has forgotten the cleansing that he has received from his past sins.

2Pe 1:10 So then, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election certain, for if you keep on doing this you will never fail.

2Pe 1:11 For in this way you will be generously granted entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus, the Messiah.

We can’t work it up. We believe what He says about us!

It refers to past sins.

Romans 3:25 Says so:
[25] Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God
Another total failure to exegete that passage properly in context, and in my opinion, willfully, with intent to deceive. Buy your own standards you will go to hell for this.

I would ask you, beg you, implore you, urge you to repent and receive the true Gospel of Jesus Christ for the remission of SINS Past, present, future.

Unfortunately for DorothyMae....she is either trying.. to save herself...or working to stay saved...

IMHO....she hasn’t a clue or understands what a born again is.....
I fully agree......yet in her mind she is God's gift of knowledge to mankind while the rest of us cannot even understand the word bible, much less have insight into the wonderful truths it lays bare!

I have the true security that God offers in his word.

Not the security man offers in his OSAS tradition.

It is better to trust in God than to put confidence in man (Psalm 118:8).
Security with OSAS means you must keep doing good works so that you are not accused (or found out) that your initial salvation experience was not real.

Security (non OSAS) means believing in Jesus Christ.

(My view - you are allowed to disagree - :))

I comprehend the book quite well.

I just haven’t been indoctrinated in such a way as to make it of non effect unto me.

I will as soon as you show me the passage that says my future sins were forgiven when I first believed.

The problem that I see in your post here Dottie is your reference to watching people over the years fall. You cannot base your observations as truth from scripture for only God is good. Or only God is pure and Holy.

Job 5:7 Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.

It takes time for us to fully understand what we have been given. And the sprinkling of blood on our conscience is the remedy for our failures. It’s not our right to judge one another as far as our relationship with the Lord. But, we do judge whether the words we hear are according to truth.

Mercy and grace have kissed in this time period. God as much more of this for us His own then we can imagine.
The problem I see with her posts.......a complete lack of understanding.....!!!
