Not that it carries any special weight but my reading and understanding of the scripture would lead me to believe that you are disqualified from pastoring a church.

There are many other ministries available but pastoring is not one of them.

I totally agree. The point was just because God says we can't do something doesn't dimish who I am. I don't have to change the bible, I just believe and obey.

I am sorry to hear that, for it must have been painful for you...
Thanks... It was the absolute worst thing I've ever had to go through in my life. Thankfully time is a healer, it's been 17 years ago and I'm happily married now.

It is. Otherwise I might be as gullible as you Guys and the Westboro Baptist bunch, making "doctrine" out of anything I found printed in that book.
Hey, now! Not all problems are directly related to the Westboro Baptist church. There is much I have against phil112's teachings, but piling up false charges isn't right, (unless there is proof he is out of Westboro.)

You asked me a question about the Spirit...
I thought you said you wouldn't answer my question about the spirit until I answered a question that you asked. I was asking what did you ask me, I must have missed it.

Yeah what you described is church. Are you going against the bible... yes. If you're not then please explain how you are not going against the bible.

Its not going against the bible as the pastors and elders are still the authority.
The women in leadership are still acting under the blessing and with the permission
of them, they would not let just anyone take on a leadership role.

This applies to men also, the pastors and elders would not just allow any man
in a leadership role etc.

Its my bed time now, so will see ya all later. :)

Prov 23:1 "When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee:"

Pretty sure I'm not going to be eating with the governor or president any time soon.
And princes and princesses of the King of King don't count. (This is what I have against you. You think you are God's only adopted child.)

That's because the women aren't silent.

Well, I suppose we can always hope, one day after we're dead, for this flaw, this wrinkle, to be removed. Maybe one day we won't want to snooker them any more and the Holy Spirit will give them the wisdom to see when they're being snookered. Oh well, guess we'll just have to wait for that day. Until then, because women have such power over men, best to keep them silent because we sure don't want to place ourselves under the authority of weak men who might be snookered.
For surely that day hasn't arrived in you yet.

For some, we're still waiting, and sadly they're old enough to have adult grandkids.

I didn't answer you. You asked me what question it was...

There is a fantastic amount of truth in that. I believe many people actually NEED to see external, written laws, in black & white, because they are truly afraid, almost terrified, to trust that Christ really can guide their lives from within them.

If they can see and read a set of laws, then they can trust in themselves to keep them. That is probably "safer" to them.
I don't trust that quiet voice inside me is God. I can do quiet voices myself, and often do... unintentionally. So, yeah. I would like to see the law, since I still don't get why God's law says if a man rapes someone's daughter, he can end up being her husband. I don't get why God wanted to wipe out all the nations that occupied the Promise Land before the Israelites came. I don't get why he didn't just do that. And, I don't get why the apostles could heal anyone they wanted, but we can't.
