What a wonderful change has been wrought in my life
since Jesus came into my heart
I have light in my soul which for long I had sought
since Jesus came into my heart

Since Jesus came into my heart
since Jesus came into my heart
floods of joy o'er my soul like the sea billows roll
since Jesus came into my heart.

Ya type of which you speak is in the Old Testament, God instructed that there shall be no hammer lifted up against the stones, for if you hew it with tools you will have defied it. Man’s effort and work defiles salvation work.
I think also many who do get saved at the altar call [for God is extraordinary gracious] but they start off with God on the wrong foot and God goes to work upon that "thing" in them which displeases Him, that self righteousness .... some christians never do get rid of it.

Their attitude toward sinners becomes "you have made your bed and now you must lie in it, you should have acted wisely as I did and decide for Christ"

So, we know it's a simple phrase children can easily do, but, Scripturally, are
we telling them The Truth? Jesus Did Say "let the little children come to Me,"
so just wondering, IF:

A) Jer 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked:
who can know it?"

Should we "ask Jesus to come into that"?

YES. He is the One who CHANGES our hearts and minds. He renews our mind, and
Psalm 34:18
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” The Good News: Though you may feel defeated, God is closer than you realize. He is always with you and can heal your heart.

B) Mat 15:19 "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries,
fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies" (cp Mar 7:21-22)

Why would "God, The HOLY One, The LORD Jesus Christ, Want to come into such
evil and filth"?

So he can SAVE US. Jesus DIED for our sins and wants to come into our heart to get rid of the "evil and filth."

1) Repent (change mind about sin/agree With God "it is Wrong!") or perish
(Luk 13:3,5 Mar 1:4 Luk_3:3, 24:47}
+
2) believe the gospel of the kingdom (Mat 4:23, 9:35, 24:14; Mar 1:14,15)
+
3) be baptized "For the remission of sin" (Mar 1:4 Luk_3:3, 7:29:30 24:47;
Act 2:38)

What about the people that don't have time to be baptized before death? Many people don't get saved until they are dying. You can't expect them to do all of this before death, if they are in their last moments.
+
4) "show works meet for repentance" (Mat 3:8), because,
+
5) "to the twelve tribes of Israel," "faith Without works is dead"

GOD wrote the Bible thru others, HE made the words and put them together, placing them into their minds.. It seems as if you are trying to change the meaning of the Bible?
It says Ephesians 2: 8-9 [8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. [10] For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
VERSE 10 MEANING I FOUND: However, this important statement offers tremendous insight into what God desires after salvation. God calls us His workmanship or His artwork, from the Greek word poiēma. We are something crafted, with skill and a purpose, by God, for His purposes. Specifically, we are "created in Christ Jesus for good works." Good works do not give us salvation, but they are absolutely meant to be the result of salvation.

Salvation, bringing Jesus into your heart, CHANGES YOU. It makes people want to do works, in order to GLORIFY God. It is saying we were created to do good works. It doesn't say we have to do good works in order to be saved.

These are God's words, in my opinion, we shouldn't try changing them or think about how they could be improved, because they actually cannot. God is the highest. He is perfection. You don't need to change something that is PERFECT ALREADY.

(Jam 1:1, 2:17,26)
+
6) "keep the commandments" to "enter life" (Mat 19:17)

Humans are sinful by nature. It is impossible for anyone, other than Jesus, to be perfect. Maybe add "try to" in the front of your number 6.
+
7) "one thing thou lackest...sell ALL/take up cross/follow Jesus"
(Mar 10:17-23):

earthly prophecy/LAW/covenants ( Previous dispensation of God... )

Rightly Divided (2 Timothy 2:15) From “Things That Differ” (online)

Glorified Christ, From Heaven, To ONE apostle and His 'ONE Body,' Under Grace /
Mystery
( Current Dispensation of God ):

1) Repent (change mind about sin/agree With God "it is Wrong!"):

"Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God,
and faith toward our LORD Jesus Christ." (Acts 20:21)

2) believe (with ALL the heart, trust, place 100% faith in) The Gospel Of The
Grace Of God:

"For I delivered unto you first of all That Which I also received, how That
Christ Died for our sins According To The Scriptures; And That He Was Buried,
and that He Rose Again the third day According To The Scriptures"

3) "By Grace Are ye Saved Through faith..."

Plus Nothing!:

"...and That not of yourselves: It Is The Gift Of God: Not
of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Plus Nothing, Confirmed!:

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, But According To His Mercy
He Saved us, By The Washing of Regeneration, and Renewing of The Holy Ghost"

Plus Nothing, Further Confirmed!:

"Who Hath Saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our
works, but According To His Own Purpose And Grace, Which Was Given us
In Christ Jesus before the world began" (2 Timothy 1:9)

↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ The LORD ( With Grace And Mercy!!! ) Is All we need Today to Be Saved!! Amen!

The whole liturgy of the church service is an invitation to come to Him...from the prayer of Invocation to the Benediction.
The old preachers spoke of conversion. Today we speak of decisions. Methods are generally adapted to the beliefs of a particular church or denomination. Whatever the means people employ, God remains gracious and merciful and Jesus is still building His church and the gates of hell are helpless against the onslaught.

Romans 10:9-10

John 3:16, 5:24

Knowing you are a sinner.

Believing Jesus is God

That He died and rose again

That by believing in Him, you have eternal life and forgiveness of sin.

That is all.

Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
