I trust you repent each and every time the temptation to laugh overcomes your holiness, then?
No of course not. But sometimes it's just not funny

Eph 5:21 . .Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

The koiné word for "submit" in that verse is hupotasso (hoop-ot-as'-so)
which means to subordinate; but we're not talking about an imposed kind of
subordination like in the military; no, what we're talking about here is
"deference" which, in a nutshell, is respect for one's betters as opposed to
demanding equality with one's peers.

Phil 2:3 . . In humility consider others better than yourselves.

The opposite of deference is defiance; which is a disposition to be contrary,
viz: a willingness to contend or fight; i.e. resist, stonewall, quarrel, argue,
debate.

The majority of the people that I encounter on internet forums are defiant:
Christians too, no less; which is a really, really bad thing because according to
Eph 5:21, when Christians refuse to consider others their betters, they reveal
just how little they consider Christ their better.

Do you realize that you seem like a self-righteous prig? I'm not calling you that; I'm telling you for your benefit.

I was addressing Webers.Home with my request for an explanation. My first post, #2 in this thread, page 1. I've requested a response at least three times. He has not responded, but has continued his preaching unabated.

Couldn’t agree more.

You know a country is in trouble when a shed in London is more
expensive than a house elsewhere. See link at the end.

Problem is employers won’t pay a decent wage so workers have to
claim benefits to supplement wages.

Landlord hike up their rents knowing that benefits will pay what the
renters can’t afford.

Then people buy houses above their real means as they forget that a lot of
their income is from benefits. So the house prices increase as demand
increases in the better areas both for buyers and renters.

Then the government says “hang on a minute we need to reduce the
benefits bill”. So they change the rules and suddenly the combined wages
and benefits, no longer cover the costs. Houses get repossessed, people end
up homeless, living in bed sits or moving to poorer areas, so those prices
increase too. Then suddenly there is nowhere affordable to live anymore.

That’s my take on it I’m sure there are other factors, but basically wages are
not keeping up with the cost of living, especially the cost of housing.

Taking inflation out of the equation, the American worker has not improved on their wages since Ronald Reagan. Yes. Everyone is greedy enough to figure out how to play the game. Business, the government, and the people.

Only one thing stops the greed -- The Lord.

I do not know how in your country, but in mine (and I think its throughout EU):

a) if you bought a house with a help of a bank loan and you cannot pay it anymore, they will sell your house so you will get the money you put into the house back (more or less) and you can go to a rental flat until your situation will get better

b) if you are in a rent, state will help you pay it if you are unemployed.

So, its virtually impossible to lose your home, in Europe. Homeless people are mostly drug addicted, drunk people who do not want to get back to normal life.
So, you don't have mortgages? In which case, who can ever afford a house to start with, and wouldn't most of you be homeless?

It's time to get serious, Christ will be back in a few years. Could be a few months.
Are you young, gullible, or both? Because I've been hearing that for the last four decades I've been a believer. And that lie has been batted around for the last 200 years.

The phrase "no one" in "no one knows the time" means what it appears to mean. No. One. If someone is telling you someone knows, someone is lying to you. Try not to spread the lie.

There are mortgages but banks want larger deposits and the monthly
mortgage is bigger.

I am not sure what is the difference between your mortgages and our bank loans for housing....

You must give some first high deposit, its 20% of the house price in my country. And then you pay some monthly amount, its height depends on how many years you will have the loan.

But the money does not get lost, when you lost a job and cannot continue. The house you are paying monthly is yours. If you cannot pay the loan anymore, they will sell your house and you will get the money from sale. You will not end up with 0 money after that.

I thought you and Tof are from different countries. You're in the UK and he's in Germany. (I figure you already know I'm American.)

About where we were when we put down the deposit. (20%.) But then we took on a 30 year mortgage to pay the rest off, and chose a house that was 25% of our income. It was fine when I lost my job. It wasn't fine when he lost his and neither one of us could find any job. We had a lot saved, but once the savings were gone, a foreclosure came in. That gave us 90 days to pay what we owed, then keep paying what we still owed every month, or lose the house.

The reason everything folded was because of a recession, so there were no jobs to be found. I even failed to get a job as a proctor (watching people take a test once a week) or a Walmart Greeter, (a few steps below flipping fries at McDonald's.) No jobs, meant no one was buying houses either. There was no way of selling our house in 90 days. It takes 6 weeks to settle.

We did get on a government-supported program so they paid our mortgage for us up to one year, and we needed 10 months to get back on our feet, but that had to be paid back too at a higher interest rate than our mortgage was. (And our mortgage is high interest rate too, but every time we refinance it takes longer to pay off the house, so we stopped doing that.)

It was bad, but when the next recession came along, (the 2008 recession), it got worse because most people were riding a housing market bubble, and the bubble burst. So they bought a $150,000 house for $250,000 thinking they could sell it in a couple of years for $400,000 but instead it was worth $150,000, they owed almost twice as much for a house they couldn't afford at half the price.

Many people lost their houses. We were wiser. We bought a $69,000 house and 27 years later, its' worth $185,000, except we still owe on it. Had we lost it, we would have paid more for a rental than we pay for a mortgage, and since neither one of us work now, that is above our pay grade.

In my country, the state will not support me to buy your house, but it will pay all my rental money and food if I will be unemployed.

So, its actually easier to live in a rent. But yes, I am still paying to somebody else and not investing to my own estate. To buy a house is more risky, state will not support me in it in case of problems.

Gen 3:16 . . and he shall rule over you.

That is probably one of the most hated verses in the whole Bible. Eve's
daughters do not like to be subjugated to and/or dominated by men.
Hello

There are many hated verses, and Gen 3:16 is one of them.

Feminists aren't strong women. They're insecure, if nor boorish. They need affirmation by taking men's roles, which they often take through gender preferences (sexual discrimination).

Churches that have women pastors are in rebellion against God, for scripture is clear on this issue. The new SBC president sadly says the SBC more women in leadership. He's showing he believed, even if he won't say it, that women should be pastors.

The Bible tells us, "And he [Paul] found [a man, preached in the synagogue and to] a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla". Notice that Priscilla is introduced as the wife of Pontus, rather than Pontus as the husband of Priscilla. This man and wife, they, learned of Christ and they hear a man, not a woman, Apollos, preaching about Jesus. They had more knowledge of Christ so "they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately." Is it not hatred for what the Bible says to take this example of Priscilla in a private conversation, with her husband, and pass it off as an example of a woman in authority over men, and publicly preaching?

Please read the next post (#2) and give it some thought. I'd be interested in your response.

Women are not a protected species. I'd be willing to bet there will be just as many, if not more, women cast into the lake of brimstone depicted at Rev 20:11-15 as men because Christianity's God is not partial. The soul that sins shall die regardless of it's race, color, or gender.

FYI: Heaven is a place of peace. Women infected with a strong personality cannot be allowed to go there; it wouldn't be fair to the others. And besides; strong women wouldn't fit in anyway; they'd be a fish out of water.
