Well I was in ministry. And I am now speaking ONLY of the people and churches I ministered in, which in over 20yrs of ministry was hundreds of churches. It was very disheartening and disappointing to see the apathy of a lot of Christians. Many would put two dollars in the love offering and go spend 40 at the local diner. We traveled from church to church, did outdoor concerts, sang anywhere we were invited. Sang for the Salvation Army in a park in the middle of Toronto. And when people sat back in the seat with an uncaring attitude it was very frustrating.
I remember a Nazarene church we sang at where four older ladies who had come to church together all accepted the Lord that morning. We even had family accept the Lord in some of the concerts. When you stood in front of a congregation you could tell if they were serious about seeing people come to Christ or they were coming to put their time in in church. To me,the worse thing that ever happened to the church is when it moved up town. When they moved away from the little missions on the main street of town. They moved up town and they have a big electric sign out front, thats their ministry to the lost you know. Some quip that they got online. They have air conditioning and a big screen tv to watch the Super Bowl, because thats a ministry too you know! They don't sing out of the hymn books but on the wall, no one wants to hear about being a "worm". Yes, they moved up town and the only converts these days are disgruntled church members from the church down the road. This is my observation from travelling in churches of all denominations. Songs always have a way of saying best for me...
It's crowded in worship today
As she slips in trying to fade into the faces
The girls teasing laughter is carrying farther than they know
Farther than they know
But if we are the body
Why aren't His arms reaching?
Why aren't His hands healing?
Why aren't His words teaching?
And if we are the body
Why aren't His feet going?
Why is His love not showing them there is a way?
There is a way, there is a way
A traveler is far away from home
He sheds his coat and quietly sinks into the back row
The weight of their judgmental glances
Tells him that his chances are better out on the road
But if we are the body
Why aren't His arms reaching?
Why aren't His hands healing?
Why aren't His words teaching?
And if we are the body
Why aren't His feet going?
Why is His love not showing them there is a way?
Jesus paid much too high a price
For us to pick and choose who should come
And we are the body of Christ
But if we are the body
Why aren't His arms reaching?
Why aren't His hands healing?
Why aren't His words teaching?
And if we are the body
Why aren't His feet going?
Why is His love not showing them there is a way?
Jesus is the way
Jesus is the way
we are His hands
We are His feet
We are His body
Jesus is the way

we can do is keep putting it out there and hope that something hits home with someone. It is Gods desire that people are saved and on fire! It is better to be red hot or chilling cold than lukewarm! Many are "vomit" christians.
Thanks for the lyrics. What singer sings that song? Id like to hear it sung.
Blessings to you sister!
