Considering what the Sabbath is about Isa 58:13 Exo 20:8-11 Lev 23:3 etc, it would be impossible to keep the Sabbath every day. God knows we have to do works and labors to survive. Housework’s, garden works, shopping, paying bills, going to work, working out and a million other things that take our mind off Christ, that does not mean we should not worship God 365/24/7 but God only asked us to keep one day set aside for holy use to put our minds totally on Christ for one full day and that is the seventh day Sabbath Exo 20:8-11 We should pray and study our bibles every day, but He also commanded us to work 6 days Exo 20:9
Anti-Sabbath persons don't realize we can keep our minds in service to God one day of the week by delivering dry goods to the local food bank, bringing old clean clothes to Goodwill, putting our book discards in the community book share box in our neighborhood,. I drop off Christian titles.
Checking in on our elderly or handicapped neighbors to see if they're OK,need help, would like us to mow their lawn for free. Visit local pet shelters and keep kitties and doggies company for awhile as they await a loving family.
Make candles and anoint them with oils listed in Scripture and then use those or pass them along to sisters and brothers at church ,our weekly ,sometimes Sabbath day, prayer and or Bible study circles.

Bottom line is, board trolls excluded of course, we will never reach those who are openly in opposition to God's gift of Sabbath day.
I've been online and in Christian communities for awhile now. And often it is the same name(s) who post the same Sabbath opposition arguments. They never can post a scripture that proves God retracted the gift he created for MAN,not Jews in the Mosaic era only. For mankind!

Because no such scripture exists. Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. He is God,our Lord, who created and gifted us,humans,'man' the Sabbath.
The people of The Way in the New Testament were converted Jews. I.E those who today would be known as Messianic Jews. And they kept the Sabbath.

We today keep the Sabbath holy in service to God's call on our lives in his name. Examples are those acts I previously listed.

"Acts" of the Apostles are not solely chapters in The Book. :D

May God continue to keep you in his blessings and light.

In Christ’s rest, no one is in rebellion to God’s commandments Isa 48:18 breaking one of God’s law would be “unrest” the opposite of what the Sabbath represents. Why He is calling us out of our rebellion if we can hear His voice calling us today Heb 3:7-8

Those who enter His rest ALSO cease from their works as God did Heb 4:10 from His on the seventh day Heb 4:4 Exo 20:11 Gen 2:1-3

Does this make any sense

I am lord of my house

translates into

- break it down

Jesus said I am Lord of the Sabbath, the Creator of it and everything Exo 20:11

man says get rid of it

It’s falling prey to the same tricks in the garden doing the opposite of what God said.

I agree, we cannot change anyone’s mind, thats the job of the Holy Spirit, all we can do is quote the scripture and pray it helps someone. :)

I never said it was canceled. I said it, like all things prefigured in the Bible, find their ultimate expression in Christ. God established the sabbath rest to point us to the rest offered in Christ.
Christ doesn't need a sabbath to be Christ. The sabbath does need Christ to be the sabbath.
Why then are you opposed to Sabbath keeping?

The Sabbath isn't,wasn't, a law from God. It was a gift from God.

The Pharisees insisted it was a law to be prosecuted with punishment as they decreed should someone break that law.

If Sabbath was ever a law then when Jesus worked on the Sabbath he sinned in breaking that law. Which is what the Pharisees accused both Jesus and his apostles of.

Jesus set the Pharisees straight.

Now,we have the consciousness of the Pharisees in the church when we hear adament opposition and condemnation of Sabbath keepers and keeping.

I'm not against keeping it. I'm against a strict adherence to a particular day.

So not how God commanded

Exo 20:10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God.

So basically not keeping the Sabbath because you can’t take the seventh day out of the Sabbath thus saith the Lord

The Lord did change it. How do you understand Colossians 2:10-17?

It’s been explained a 1000 times, God blessed man cannot reverse so you would need a thus saith the Lord. Pauls writings came with a warning and he was a servant a Christ meant to spread the gospel not change God’s times and laws, that’s the other spirit who did that, why Paul faithfully kept the Sabbath decades after the Cross Acts 15:21 Acts 13:44 Acts 18:4 etc just as Jesus said His people would be Mat 24:20. Rev 14:12

Just in case you missed my response to Col 2:14-17

This seems to be peoples go to verse to try to discredit God’s commandment, but if one were to carefully examine the context, compare it to the teachings of Jesus, would clearly see Paul is not trying to take away what God started at Creation when He made everything according to His perfect plan.

There is more than one Sabbath in the scripture. The weekly Sabbath, that is a commandment of God, written on the Authority of God by God's own finger, that is holy and blessed by God. Only God can reverse His blessing Num 23:20 and there is no thus saith the Lord about not keeping the Sabbath commandment - He states the opposite, most Sabbath teachings are directly from God. There are also the yearly sabbath(s) that have to do with food and drink, came after the fall, are ordinances written by the hand of Moses placed outside the ark as a witness against Deut 31:24-26

Paul went out of His way to ensure people would not confusion these sabbath(s) the context is in verse 14 that no one ever quotes for some strange reason

Col 2:1414 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Is this the context of the weekly Sabbath according to scriptures?

Is the Sabbath an ordinance?
God calls it part of My commandments right in the Ten Commandments Exo 20:6

Is the Sabbath handwritten?
Exodus 31:18 And when He had made an end of speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave Moses two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.

The finger is not the hand.

Is the Sabbath against and contrary- what does God say:
Exo 20:3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.
Holy, Blessed and sanctified is not the definition of contrary and against.

There is nothing in the weekly Sabbath that has to do with food, drink, new moons or sabbath(s)- the weekly Sabbath is the Sabbath day Exo 20:10 the holy day of the Lord, My holy day Isa 58:13

Plus the weekly Sabbath according to God can't be a shadow of anything as He points us right back to Creation- Remember the Sabbath day from Creation Exo 20:11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

God never wants us to forget where we came from or Who created us. Thats the other spirit who tells us we don't have to Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy, not God. God said the opposite.

Col 2:14-17 is referring to the annual feats days that some were sabbath(s) and sacrificial offerings that came after the fall, that have to do with food, drink that are ordinances handwritten by Moses2 Chronicles 33:8 , that were placed outside the ark as a witness against Deut 31:24-26 that all pointed forward to Christ. Heb 9:10-15 Heb 10:1-22 1 Cor 5:7 The weekly Sabbath was part of God's perfect plan before sin entered. The yearly sabbath(s) was added after the fall of man. Plus Jesus said the Sabbath would be kept after the Cross Mat 24:20 and Paul never taught against the teachings of Jesus.

Including this one about Paul's writing

2 Peter 3:16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.

I didn't miss it. Still poor understanding. You are still concerned to keep the commandments rather than have Christ live them through you. You haven't found rest. You are still active. You cannot be keeping the commandment regardless of your exterior activities. The true sabbath is a complete rest.

Non of it Scriptural. Thanks for the laughs, though. Resting on a Sabbath redefined by you to mean doing good works.

Oh, and what animal do you sacrifice in adhering to Sabbath commands?

I quoted a verse and believe it as it reads, that is not poor understanding. You might disagree with the verse, but that has nothing to do with my understanding or not.

Lets focus on things you know and not things you don't because you do not know my relationship with Christ, nor do I know yours with He. We are not god and not all knowing and only He knows our hearts. So best to let God be God and He will sort all of this out as there is nothing we can hide from Him Ecc 12:13-14

That said Christ was in us, we would be keeping the commandments John 14:15 1 John 3:24 John 15"10, not breaking them, we would know the Sabbath is on the seventh day because God said so. Exodus 20:10 and if we enter His rest we would also cease from our works as God did Heb 4:10 on the seventh day Heb 4:4 Exo 20:11

There is a stern warning about Paul writings that people twist to their own destruction. Can you duplicate your understanding of Paul in Col 2:16 with what Jesus taught and lived? Where did Jesus teach we don't need to keep the Sabbath? He taught not to break or teach others to break the least of these commandments Mat 5:19-30. The one commandments He said to remember, that is holy and blessed by God, is not a least commandment, but even if you think it is, He said not to break.

If not, the warning is for those who do not reconcile Paul's writings with Christ, Christ is our Savior and showed us the way leading by example if we abide in Him John 15:10 1 John 2:5-6. Did Jesus ever teach we don't need to keep the Sabbath commandment? Not once. He wrote, He spoke, He blessed, man cannot reverse, and sad they try.

I do know you haven't found rest. Your posts admit this. You are in a performance relationship with God and it is up to you to perform well enough. If you had rest, you would relate to God based on your position in Christ.
Paul himself did eventually worship the first day of the week...Acts 20. Collections were taken that day. It is referred to as the Lord's day. And a more careful translation of Matthew 28:1 would reveal a changing of the Sabbath to the first day of the week.

Sabbatarians fret about a day that is holy, yet don't see that in every moment of every day they live and move and have their being in one who is most holy. The sabbath day is holy, but what dwells in their hearts is most holy
Because God is the greatest and most Holy do we have license to forget the other commandments.

God the most Holy made the sabbath holy and said remember it.

Am I doing anything wrong by remembering what The most Holy said to remember?

Just because someone obeys the command to remember the sabbath does not mean they do not see God Almighty and His Holiness each day.

The sabbath has helped to improve my love for Jesus and appreciate His holiness.
