So to finalize my thoughts. Accordingly, we can all agree that this country was founded upon the principle that our self-governing principles were of the people, by the people, and for the people. Knowing then that most American citizens were church going people, 50 to 100 years ago, the fault lies with the people bringing this country to the point of being non-prosperous with escalating crime. Rhetorically then, what are "we the people" doing wrong, that we continue to see this degradation? Could it be that we are preaching in many of our churches that the Mosaic Law is replaced and extinct, being extinct by the grace of Jesus Christ? Maybe we should reconnoiter and adopt the moral aspects of the law given to Moses, and start teaching, and preaching that the Mosaic Law is valid, and has it's place through Christ Jesus. Here is some scripture that I think could, and should be used from behind the pulpit.

Matthew 5:17 (KJV)
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
John 5:46-47 (KJV)
[SUP]46 [/SUP]For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
[SUP]47 [/SUP]But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
Psalm 72:17 (KJV)
[SUP]17 [/SUP]His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.
Deuteronomy 6:4-6 (KJV)
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
Leviticus 19:18 (KJV)
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.
Galatians 3:19-21 (KJV)
[SUP]19 [/SUP]Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
Galatians 3:24-26 (KJV)
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
[SUP]26 [/SUP]For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Considering verse 25, what tool do we have left to bring others to Christ Jesus if we have forsaken it? How many false conversions might there be because of this discrepancy? So the works of the law and works by faith to justification should not be at odds with one another. They should work together hand in hand. Wisdom is what we need. It’s takes education to know that a tomato is really a fruit, but it takes wisdom to know that one doesn’t use it in fruit salad.
1. American (and world) moral values have declined, Not because of lack of adherance to some law. But because of self serving interests.

2. 100 years ago and more. people were more apt to help and think of others than self. today it is all about self.

3. Trying to go back to law is NOT going to help. The law condemns and it judges.. You go judging people and you will not find renewal and repentance you will find a stiff hand in your face saying how dare you judge me.

what we need to do is get away from self. and get to other thinking. This is the example Jesus showed. he did not go around shoving the law in sinners faces, he did not have to, they already knew they were sinners. you could tell by their reaction. It was the pharisees job to judge, and because of it, they will be judged.

it is no different today. You do not need to tell people they are sinners, THEY ALREADY KNOW. show them love and forgiveness, as Jesus did. and how the things of this world do not make us happy, even though society will tell you different, prove society wrong, people will come in groves. Everyone wants to find what is missing, Christ is the ONLY one who can satisfy our inner selves.. this is what people need ot hear. Not thou shalt not this or that!

The handwriting is on the wall, the proof is in the pudding. People, get ready because it's coming. How do we know? The Bible tells us so.
Proverbs 1:7-9 (KJV)
[SUP]7 [/SUP]The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
[SUP]9 [/SUP]For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

1. SO you have no proof of these churches. Ok thank you
2. The handwriting is on the wall. Legalism and law lead to death. The world is missing something, they sin because they are trying to filla void. and these sins do not fill that void so they try other sins, And ongoing never ending trial of trying to fill that void left by the fall of mankind.

We need to show people, by our lives, that this void can only be filled by Christ. This is why God said to be lights to the world. Not judging them, but SHOWING them the way by our lives.

Thanks for proving what I was saying in the last few posts. It's pretty clear to others reading this thread. May God bless you with wisdom.

lol, I did not prove what you said. I countered what you said. The mere fact you could not show where I erred does show people in this room the truth.

If you want to return to law and think that will make you righteous. When paul says over and over it only brings death, Then feel free to do it.

As for most of us, We will look to the law of faith, and trust God that he knows the way to fill our void. And he does it over and over, Not by the law. But by his mercy and forgiveness, and his power to live a life which is not self gratifying, But others focused. Which is the GOAL of the church!

This is good.
This is the key to living an overcoming life.

Can't you see that contradicting just-me is proving his point?

And why can't people see that no one is advocating going back to living UNDER the law, or claiming it to justify us - the point is to use it to show us how God expects us to live because man's transgression is the reason the law was given in the first place - to show us our sin. It is so ignorant for people to immediately jump to the conclusion that someone is saying we must return to keeping the whole law as given to Moses just because he/she says we should see it as a guide for our behavior toward each other and God. The law is spiritual, and by gum, it never expires!

How does it prove the point. He gave a point, I countered His point. and he did not counter what I said, just made a claim it proves Him right.

So if anything, His lack of responding in kind to what I said proves my point, because He have no counter to what I said.

And you would still be wrong. The law was given to Israel for twofold reasons.

1. As part of the covenant between them as God
2. To show them, and the world, we can not live up to gods standard.

God told them they most obey ALL of it. or it is null and void. They could not do it, We can not do it, No one has ever done it but Christ.

Now do you have ANYTHING to say which would show what I said is in error??

It sometimes turns into splitting hairs.
O.K.
Does anyone here believe the law saves them?
Does anyone here believe the law is necessary to uphold?
Does anyone here reject the law?
Does anyone here think the law is a hinderance, and should be done away with?

Does anyone here believe the law is necessary to uphold? depends on context
Does anyone here reject the law? no
Does anyone here think the law is a hinderance, and should be done away with? again, depends on context. without the law we could not know our need for christ.. but as far as maturing in Christ, the law has no power to do this, all the law can do is kill.. which was its purpose.

So,, under your silly theolgy, Marriage is VOID!!!!

Yet silly Christians,, even the ones you know,, are MARRIED!!!!! And here you sit advising that all marriages are null and void? Thou shallt not commit adultery- VOID! Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors wife- VOID! Marriage- VOID!!!

Simply amazing how you people claim Christ and then throw His Immutable Law on the ground and trample it. Find another savior,, If you are expecting Jesus to save you while you make void His Law,, you are going to be very dissapointed!

Proverbs 7

My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.2Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.3Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.4Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:5That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.6For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,7And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,8Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,9In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:10And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.11(She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:12Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)13So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,14I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.15Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.16I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.17I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.18Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.19For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:20He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.21With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.22He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;23Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.24Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.25Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.26For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.27Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

Oh its void. How is this? I was not married under the law. The law states I am unqualified to be married to my Lord..

I was married under grace. I take it you have fulfilled the law. or think you can? Your the one who is still looking for her husband.. Your trying to earn his love, You will fail.

Alot of babble here/ Not sure what your trying to say.

King david died in adultry, Did he void his marraige to god? Scripture tells us no. Scripture says he was a man after gods heart. how can this aduterous murdering thief be a man after Gods heart, if we followed your gospel?? he couldn't!

Ah, but what a way to go...

Lev 26:3 If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;
Lev 26:4 Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
Lev 26:5 And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.
Lev 26:6 And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
Lev 26:7 And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.
Lev 26:8 And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.
Lev 26:9 For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.
Lev 26:10 And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new.
Lev 26:11 And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you.
Lev 26:12 And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.
Lev 26:13 I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.

Deu 28:1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
Deu 28:2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
Deu 28:3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
Deu 28:4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
Deu 28:5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
Deu 28:6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
Deu 28:7 The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
Deu 28:8 The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Deu 28:9 The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.
Deu 28:10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.
Deu 28:11 And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
Deu 28:12 The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
Deu 28:13 And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
Deu 28:14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

All the Law could do was kill? Just some more of your bold, brash, FALSE statements. There are tremendous blessing for keeping God's Commandments...

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

No. my friend, You have no understanding.

If you did, you would on your knees praising God for saving you. You would be out trying to show the love of God. not judging others. You would be acknowledging daily you still sin and are totally unworthy of Gods love and mercy.

Your like the pharisee stuck on a few pet sins, And think because you have kept them you are righteous under the law. When like them you do the outer, but can't see the inner..(you can't even see some of the outer. which is well displayed in here)

Oh I see. so you live in Isreal. and you are protected by God because you follow Gods law.

You must be special..

The NT never promises any of this, even if we are doing good. We still are never promised prosperity, never promised to be protected from our enemy.

what we are promised is persecuation, hatred, war, famine etc etc..

again, you do not know the law.

Paul said it kills. Your argument is with him..

How did this thief overcome his sin?

Ephesians 4:28... Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

God says sin is TRANSGRESSION of the law... and the Holy Spirit will reproof ALL SINNERS OF THEIR SIN... then the Holy Spirit will show us where we transgress the law, and as long as we do we will be reproofed... So sinners I guess switch the volume down so much that the Holy Spirit can scream if He wants, they will not hear Him.... Or what..

But let us say our thief does stop stealing and he goes and work with his hands THE THING WHICH IS GOOD, and then he share his income with him that needeth.... What happened to thsi man, does he still steal, or does he labour that is good?

How did he overcome the want to steal? And what made him go to work whith his hands what is GOOD?

I say this.... He had a conscience and he heard the Holy Spirit, but then God decided... That man I will give to my Son... Then God called the man to be holy and perfect. God called the man with the HIGH CALLING IN CHRIST... and God gave the man to Jesus... Jesus does what HE does best... Jesus recreates the man to the WILL OF GOD... PERFECT... Jesus not only take away the heart that wants to steal, but Jesus puts a NEW HEART in the man. A heart that LOVES WORKING WITH HIS HANDS THAT IS GOOD.... and Jesus bless the work to make a good income, and then Jesus bless the man with HIS SPIRIT so that the Spirit only wants to share... and HE DOES....
