I won't accept thought policing, no matter what ideological robe it's wearing.
Your claim of (Thought Policing) is my direct disagreement with your secular views regarding science, this is a debate, big smiles!

You thought policing me and political correctness isn't in that (btw, we actually don't disagree that secular science is biased but also that's only a branch of science that is affected by God hater bias, you have math and a bunch of other sciences that are doing just fine).
Thought policing is in trying to dictate what terms I can and should use and what terms I can't and shouldn't use (to say "science states" is declared politically incorrect and that I need to get it out of my dictionary and can't say it).

Please provide a citation and link on your claim that the Revelation was written during the reign of Nero, waiting?
Someone seems to be obsessed with Nero. But Domitian was the Roman Emperor who exiled John to Patmos.

'The Apostle John and Patmos

Late in the first century, the Apostle John was living in Ephesus preaching the Gospel, teaching the Scriptures, and helping lead the church. Historians also maintain that he wrote his Gospel and three epistles in Ephesus, and was pretty outspoken against pagan worship there.

This didn’t sit well with the Roman Emperor Domitian. Roman historians such as Pliny described Domitian as a violent madman who persecuted Christians. Domitian was also a believer in prophetic omens, and he was one of the few emperors who insisted on calling himself a god during his reign. In about 86 AD, a temple to Domitian was built in Ephesus. At the same time, the people of Ephesus were forced to worship and make sacrifices to Domitian, practices that would have certainly been denounced by John.

John’s opposition to emperor worship, in addition to his continued preaching of the Gospel, ultimately reached the ear of Domitian and prompted him to take action. In 94 AD, the 14th year of the reign of Emperor Domitian, the elderly John the Apostle was exiled to the island of Patmos.'

Revelation 17
8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. Rome

10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. The Caesars, Augustus to Galba

11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

so there is your answer, the "8th king is actually one of the 7
The bible will answer most questions if you just read the CONTEXT.

Here is the text in Greek it does not say the eighth beast is a king it calls kings kings, kingdoms kingdoms and beast beast https://biblehub.com/interlinear/revelation/17.htm

It's a common know fact the modern (Science) today's secular, and the vast majority of those Scientist are secular in their views.

You used (Science States) in reference to time as an illusion of past, present, future?

God created time, he is the Alpha and Omega, Modern Science today dosent believe that fact.

Your claims of thought policing and political correctness are false, nothing but a diversion.

I didn't disagree with you about that.
And, there are many such secular people who come to believe God through observing nature, as they do their scientific exploits and realize the ink bottle couldn't be flipped on its own and the book write itself from the ink.
I have the impression that you don't see the problem I'm pointing out. If you want to prescribe people what they should or shouldn't say, you are doing no better than a radical determining what "pronouns" people can use.
I will say "science states" whether someone thinks it's offensive or not, as I believe when bias is twisting the truth, that this isn't real science. And if I need to, I'll explain my views, but I'll keep my freedom of speech. What I wrote earlier about time being a physical property, was proven in multiple scientific experiments and it's repeatably observable. It's good science, whether secular people performed it or not, if Christians perform it they will get identical result and come to the same conclusions.

Secular Science Today Is Nothing But A Political Agenda, What Planet DO You Live On.

Creation Science And Secular Science Are Oil And Water, To Deny This Is Denial Of Truth.

I'm not trying to police any bodys thought, nor be politically correct, that's the Leftist Democrats job, I'm a Christian Conservative, big smiles

Oil & Water!

Secular Science: In The Beginning (The Big Bang)

Creation Science: In The Beginning (God Created)
the scripture says everything was created by the word of God.
the word emanates from the mouth: that's a single location

what may be known from the things which are made indicates that there was nothing, not even emptiness, but nothing, and then everything emanated from a single location.

it's the foolish that hate knowledge; the church ought to be wise. creation testifies of the Creator. rejecting observational inquiry is rejecting the testimony of God in His creation; we are idiots if we reject observational fact solely on account of what the godless interpretation of those facts may be.

which part of 'in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth' means that time is anything more than an abstract experiential construct applied to a seemingly causal sequence of arrangements of all the matter and energy in the heavens and the earth?

accepting that our Lord is the maker of all that has been made doesn't make time any less intangible. all these things will pass away; God is eternal: time doesn't pre-exist Him. time is part of the physical creation; He set it in time when He fashioned it, and He appoints the seasons. time is His creation too, no more 'real' in the ultimate sense than any of the elements that will be dissolved.

observational physics points to the same things that theology does. 'His invisible qualities'

in Revelation 17 we're talking about a woman riding a beast with 7 heads & 10 horns.
those 7 heads are the 7 kings.

the beast 'once was, now is not, and yet will come up out of the abyss and go to its destruction'

so ..

if we're saying at the time of writing the 'head which now is' is the then-present emperor of Rome, would that make Rome the beast itself?
because that beast would be '
once was not, now is' at that time. Rome hadn't passed out of existence while Rome had John exiled. but the angel explains to John that the beast 'now is not'

he goes on to tell him that the beast is an 8th king, belonging to the 7 -- that all the world, whose names are not written in the Lamb's book of life, will be astonished at seeing him, because he once was, was not, and yet will come. like they will recognize him. ((?))

if all this is past already who is that beast? can't be Rome -- Rome doesn't fall under 'now is not' either with a late or an early dating of the Revelation.
I had posted prevously that there are two beasts in Chap 17......a nation and a person....I repeat just so ya know :)
Then there is the dragon who is the false teacher beast thrown into a lake of fire. Bet that will smart.

There is some science that is actually science.....repeatable results that proves a theory.
Without repeatable results the action remains a theory.
We live in world that can't seem to understand the difference.

I see Truth7t7 has someone else to dazzle.........so I am going to take a loooog break.

the major point i hoped to make in the 'science derailment subtopic' is that science is not atheistic or secular: interpretations of science may be.

sorry i don't have much to add to the main topic, but i enjoy reading it. if i ask questions it's to probe, not to argue or accuse. ideas that stand up to scrutiny are the ideas worth holding onto, IMO

i don't feel sure enough about Revelation to make assertions in a thread like this -- 65 other books i still haven't mastered that come before it! :)

*sigh*

observation indicates that everything in the universe came from a singular source in space and time. that's 'big bang' cosmology, sum & total. the Bible indicates the same thing.

just like there is nothing godless about saying oak trees come from acorns, there is nothing godless about 'big bang' hypotheses. they aren't origin theories, they're not theologies, they're not idols; they're theories about what the universe looked like milliseconds after the beginning and how it unfolded from there.
