Luke 24:27 + 31
amen
that’s the key to understanding the Bible to realize what Jesus is saying and why Paul said it and Peter said it also
So if we start with what Jesus was saying there
“And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,”
Luke 24:44-45
later after receiving the hilt ghost they understood the same thing
“and he shall send
Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: whom the
heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which
God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
For
Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall
the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
Yea, and
all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.
Ye are the children of the prophets, and of
the covenant which God made with our fathers,
saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
Unto you first God, having
raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.”
Acts 3:20-26
Moses and the prophets were always preaching that Christ would come with his immutable word of salvation would preach it to the people , then suffer and die and be raised again from death and taken in the sight of men into the heavens to Gods right hand upon David’s promised throne forever.
Now he had come d sent his witnesses including Paul who witnessed the same thing. Under with before Agrippa Paul summarizes his message and ministry and where it originally came from. after paul saw his “heavenly vision “on the road to Damascus
“Whereupon, O king Agrippa,
I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: but
shewed first unto them of
Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judæa, and then to the Gentiles,
that
they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
Having therefore
obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come: that Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.”
Acts 26:19-20, 22-23
The prophets were preaching forward about Christ in throne days before he came and Jesus came as the fulfillment of them all
“this is what the ot promises are about “
“The people that walked in darkness have seen a
great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
For
unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and
his name shall be called Wonderful,
Counsellor,
The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of
his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever.
The zeal of
the LORD of hosts will perform this. The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.”
Isaiah 9:2, 6-8 KJV
And “this is the new testsment “ those promises coming to fruition in the world as God foretold by the law and prophets
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
John 1:1-3, 5, 9-10, 14 KJV
the Old Testament foretells all
Of the new testsment , and the new testament witnesses the truth of the gospel foretold and fore promised in the old testsment one is an ancient foretelling and then It came to pass in Christ Gods plan for mans salvation
