What Law is this ?

Romans 8

7
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
only by being born again does one understand and see the difference, not a Law a truth

Hosea 6:6For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings.

Matthew 13:15
For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’

Matt 7:11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

Matthew 17:12
But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.”

Luke 24:31
Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight.

God is trying to get us to truly recognize that He is our Father and which the devil has snatched the memories of Him being the true Father from our minds and gotten us to focus on the things of this world. Once a soul remembers that He is the one and only Father, He will heal them from all the things that the devil had done to them to distracted them from knowing the truth.
Thank you, taken into my humility abode with Father

To Homwardbound and Welshman, neither of you have a Full, correct understanding of God's salvation plan, I don't think, either of you understand God's eternal cov. of Grace yet. Nor, How God saves us. Homward, you keep making too much of the sal. action, "done" on the cross: YOU say, "Who are we adhering to getting more forgiveness from God" "The forgiveness issue is over" "by his (Jesus) death we are Forgiven, redeened, reonciled," NO, the cross work of Jesus never saved anyone, WITHOUT the personal application of His death to our hearts in our life time , not 2,000yrs. ago. Jesus is every thing we need for salvation ;but we are not saved until we are first born into this world and are effectually called, born again by God into His Family. The eternal plan of GRACE was/is in effect from day one, in the garden of eden, before Jesus ever came and died, and the elect were saved ,based on the future work of Jesus on the cross, Jesus death only "PAID FOR" and CONFIRMED God's JUSTICE in having already saved them. SO, in reality, Jesus death did not save them, God's GRACE saved them. Can you not see this eternal plan of GRACE in Rom. 8:29-30? Love to all, Hoffco
No flesh ever pleases God ever all sin by Christ has been and is condemned to flesh. And I am okay with what you say, to each their own
So do you deny this verse below and are trying to improve on it or keep you Holy
Colossians 1:22 in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

So either you have recieved as truth or you have not and are working at it to be truth or keep, it as truth, self flesh in the way to total freedom in God's amazing Love

The holy spirit is the new testament, before christ came and died for our sins we had to obtain righteousness by keeping of the commandments which was for the jews in the first place, now this is why christ came so that we can be righteous through him( the gentiles) and obtain the commonwealth of israel, that is what the new testament is letting christ living the life for us instead of us trying to do our own thing, why would we believe on christ? so that he can come and live in us, correct? exactly so God will live the righteousness he intended for us through us, through his holy spirit
Romans 8

King James Version (KJV)

8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

do you see it? it never said by us but IN US, let me explain to you what this means, whatever is in our hearts are manifested through the flesh is that correct? now look at this if the spirit of God is living in us and the spirit fulfills the righteousness of the law in our hearts, well then wouldn't we live by it everyday? it will be like this you will just know what is wrong from right the spirit of God will give you power not to covet, steal, kill or anything contained in the law that is what fulfillment means and that is the new testament right there the spirit of God which makes us righteous
Amen to this and Thanks

To iamsoandso, you are a perfect example of the error of Homward and welshman, You say, "Don't do anything, Jesus has already saved us on the cross". NO WAY. Jesus said, we must Repent, Trust Him and Obey Him to be saved. You
three have a very dangerious UNIVERSALISM view of salvation. CAN you not see, IF jesus did it all on the cross, then all are saved... No evangelizing is needed, Jesus has saved us on the cross... Hoffco

"saved does not mean save yourself",,,,you should contemplate the very blood of Christ and it's power that is in the Resurrection all of those who sleep will rise from the grave. some unto eternal damnation, and some unto eternal life but do take note "they are both raised from the grave",as you say, here is the part most miss,,,that is all are raised the believer and the non believer,,,and then the judgement and the second death,,,,,,,

To Homward, You lie, by not quoting Col.1:23 with v22.! v.223 says,"IF indeed you continue in the Faith,..." IN a real sense, our sal. is conditional upon our continuing in Faith to the end. There are sooo many verses the tell us to be holy or we will be lost. YOU MUST tell the WHOLE truth ,or you lie.!! PLEASE tell the WHOLE TRUTH. Love to all. Hoffco

to iamsoandso,
good to hear you say, "many will be raise to damnation," So, you don't believe in a universal sal. for all. Good.! Now, why? How? , What ? are you saving Jesus saved us on the cross? Are you saying Jesus saved only the "elect" on the cross? homward said, Jesus saved "US" on the cross. WHO is the "US" Hoffco

To Josh., Sorry, you don't know how God saved sinners in the Old Test. God saved by the blood of Jesus on the Cross. The immediate O.T. context of salvation was on the bases of the animal sacrifice, BUT, we know , the blood of animals can not save. But the O.T. saints were not saved by keeping the Law. Keeping the law ,was imperfect, and it only showed their faith in the grace, mercy of God. Hoffco

In Colossians 1:23 we see the statement εἴγεἐπιμένετε . εἴ is follwed by the present indicative verb ἐπιμένετε which means "continue". This tells us that Paul is clearly confident in regards to the Christians present spiritual condition. The indicative in Koine Greek is a statement of fact. it carries the force of "I am confident" because Paul assumes that there experience is real. It must be understood that Paul is taking into consideration that some among them may nit be truly saved in which case they will not continue in the faith. τῇ πίστει τεθεμελιωμένοι (in the faith grounded). Paul qualifies the first phrase by stating that if the condition is real then you are grounded in the faith.

The argument for loss of salvation here is greatly weakened by the Grammatical structures of this text.

I have said enough for one morning. I need to go back to bed for a couple more hours before day break. YOU three, need to study more in the N.T. to see how God, Jesus, saves His "people" from their sins. AND, our responsiblity to: "Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine, continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you" 1Tim.4:16 It is 4am. in the Philippines, Good morning to you all. be blessed of God.! Love to all Hoffco, Doug

To Timberdoodle, you are half true, add this, the indictive is "continual action in the present" . And , the "IF" clause can be "since" you continue, but it still means "IF" you continue , Paul is saying, and I know, some of you "will" and some of you "won't" continue. . AND, Paul would never say, any one saved could lose their salvation,NO WAY, Paul believed, "once saved always saved". Be blessed, Hoffco

us,,,,all of us me, you and homewardbound all of mankind,,,, hoffco you are no less the elect than any of us,,,you can struggle with it if you will but take note of your own words you say we are trying to tell you you are saved by the blood of the cross instead of trying to save you by some other set of works. why would we not if we see the salvation in the cross not tell you of the actual salvation instead of another that is not real? you see i have(and the others you mention) are not "Savior's come to save you",,,but rather we are those whom receiving the gift of salvation by another's work,Jesus, that is and so then since this is so i and the others cannot come and give you a secret set of works to preform to be saved but the work by which i and the others obtained salvation we are presenting to you,,,the work of Christ.,,,,

While I agree with your result I do not understand the Present active Indicative to be continual. That would be a function of the perfect active indicative. The second phrase is in the perfect which supersedes the first phrase. Grounded is a continual state.

Thanks for sharing

looking for a needle in a haystack are we? watch our could swallow a camel in doing doing so
Only if God is, or could.

The Father is the one who established the separate works of the Trinity.

It is what it is, Christ administered the /new Covenant and mediates it after the cross that administers it to the believer. where it is finished and done, we are made holy and acceptable unto Father by Christ again COL. 1:22, CAN YOU OR ANYONE IMPROVE ON THAT
Actually, it is what Scripture says it is.

And what we find in Scripture is that administrator and mediator are two different operations in the Trinity.
The Son accomplished the work, and the Holy Spirit is the power of God at work applying its benefits.

As mediator, Christ interposed between God and the elect, effecting reconciliation by his atoning sacrifice,
which purchased the benefits of the New Covenant with his blood.

As surety and guarantee of the New Covenant, Christ guarantees
that we will keep our part of the covenant (faith), and
that God will keep his part of the covenant (salvation).

The Holy Spirit then applies (administers) the benefits of the covenant to God's elect--new birth, faith, conviction of sin, repentance, forgiveness, justification, illumination, witnessing/testifying, sanctification, transformation, preservation in faith, glorification.

God is the one who established the different roles in the Trinity,
and they are not needles in a haystack, nor are they swallowing a camel.

Most inappropriate.

Salvation is from the justice of God's wrath which demands penalty for our sin (Ro 5:9).

Jesus paid the penalty for the sin of those who believe in him (Ro 3:25).

The penalty being paid, God has forgiven their sin and has declared them not guilty, justified;
i.e., righteous (right standing before God). (Ro 5:17, 3:21)

It's all a legal transaction required by the law of God's justice,
which was initiated by God in presenting his own Son for sacrifice (Ro 3:25)
in payment of the penalty required (Ro 3:26)
to propitiate his own just and righteous character.

Grace is unmerited favor, or as the old Sunday school acronym: God's Riches At Christ's Expense

Yes, we are saved by grace which is free to us, but it was paid for by Christ.
