Belief requires tangible evidence, faith requires humility. Faith and humility facilitate belief as God draws close to those who draw close to Him.

I don't know if you are wrong but I certainly don't intend it to sound like a works based things but a relational thing. Relationships are built on time invested and shared experience. That is the intent of my statement.

Oh ok, I meant it as when one has faith and humility they get to know God and then that relational evidence is used as tangible evidence confirming belief. However, the faith itself is a belief without evidence. So its self-fulfilling.

I think so....as the scripture says, (paraphrasing) "As you draw near to God He draws near to you". He will never force himself on us.....right?

Dana everyone knows right from wrong you don't need a holy book to help you with that
Alright, I'll take up this discussion.

I have heard many people say, "I don't need a god to tell me murder is wrong." They usually pick the obvious one to state. But I don't believe that everyone knows right from wrong. If you know right from wrong, can you answer these for me? is it wrong for me to have sex with a 16-year-old girl? Is it wrong for me to have sex with my sister? Is it wrong for me to take narcotics? Is it wrong for me to drink until drunk? Please give your reasons for why these things are right or wrong.

Yes i agree with you, that is what scripture says.

As far as forcing Himself on us...who knows? what your view on calvinism?

Anyway In my opinion it seems what scripture is saying leads to a self-fulfilling belief.

This is Barney Fife, Tintin.
Ah, The Andy Griffith's Show?

Lacey started off very disagreeable but then she later become more reasonable or at least far more mature in her interactions.

I used to be scared all the time that no matter how much i repented id still go to hell....well I'm agnostic now.....i started to think logically if there is a God and I'm his child and he loves me more than my earthly parents, a love that is so deep it could fill infinite oceans.....than Howe could he let me go to hell? Now before you say well he gave you a choice, try to humor me for a minute. Yes in the Bible it does teach that more i won't go into the history and how hell was added as a way to does people, just think logically.....if anyone you loved did you wrong....didn't believe in you....and so on.....could you really let them burn in fire????? And if you answer no.....how can a God who has infinite love not stop that.....but a person of inferior love would...... ponder on that. I mean no disrespect, but why do we need hell when life is do hard

If you was a born again Christian and lived a holy life, you wouldn't go to hell.

Hell is a real place wether you believe it or not.
I hope and pray that you will come to know Jesus in a personal way, He died so you could go to heaven instead of hell, if you will believe.

She wasn't here looking for honest debate. She was just trying to drown everyone who was trying to keep her from drowning.

Lacey, wow, you've been busy. That's a lot of posts in a day. I'm sorry that you have been misinformed about Yahweh, Jesus and Christianity itself. It is a lot easier to teach or explain something to someone who knows nothing rather than trying to unteach the false messages you have learned.

First: God is the Creator. With the scientific breakthroughs these days, more and more scientists are warming up to the idea that we are the products of a very complex design. By new understandings in energy, quantum physics, light and frequencies, it has become apparent that there is a lot more we don't know.

Second: Yahweh chose for the Israelites to be His people. He gave the Law to them so they would thrive in the land He gave them. That was their covenant. God gave them prophets to communicate with them because He terrified them. Prophets had to be 100% accurate and demonstrate miracles or they were killed. The prophets spoke of a coming Savior.

Third: Jesus was that Savior. His birth, life, death and resurrection fulfilled many of those prophecies. No other religion has the boast of 100% accuracy, nor of a resurrected Savior. If these prophecies did not get fulfilled as such the Jews would have pointed them out long ago and we would all still be waiting for the Messiah.

Forth: A blood sacrifice was needed for the remission of sins. Jesus was that sacrifice. This is the new covenant offered to everybody. The Law doesn't apply to people under the new covenant. In order to be under the New Covenant, you must accept that Jesus was the Messiah and that he died for your sins. You must repent which just means you no longer choose to sin. Then we make Jesus our Master or Lord and follow Him. There does appear to be emphasis on baptism associated with receiving the Holy Spirit. We who follow Jesus are adopted into the family of God and will receive an inheritance with Jesus.

Fifth: Those who reject Jesus, remain in their sins and choose the punishment. Everybody chooses their master in this world, only one will deliver us from God's judgement.

That's the big picture. God does love everyone. He provided a way out of justice for our crimes against Him and eachother. Jesus is the way. He demonstrated His love by living a life avoiding every temptation just so He would be a worthy enough sacrifice to take away the sins of the world. Then he allowed Himself to be nailed to cross and humiliated because of what I had done. That is who I choose to follow, my Jesus, my Savior. There is no better leader, cause or pleasure more worthy to live and die for. These are the facts as I have exhaustively researched them. What choice will you make?

If you brake mans law, does man torture you till you die? Let alone for ever? Think. Perish, destroy. The punishment is eternal non existence. Now how a person suffers before annihilation is Gods business, 'it's a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God', but the unredeemed do not have immortality. That is Gods gift to those who repent.
