I would gladly tell teens, or anybody else, that sex is confined to marriage, and that marriage is about a lot more than just physical contact. In fact, I already have many times.

I've read the Song of Solomon many times, and it's not all about sex. Again, your vision is greatly blurred if that's all that you see. The Song of Solomon is all about LOVE. If you missed that, then you missed everything.

Song of Solomon

6Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.
7Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.

Btw, I noticed that you didn't answer any of my questions, nor did you say anything about a woman that isn't directly tied to sex.

Why am I not surprised?

So you agree with the purity movement?

I get really annoyed at Christians who tell singles, even thinking about sex is a sin, YET, they have no problem with people getting married 2,3,4,5 times. Divorce and remarriage seems to be acceptable, but a single person even thinking about sex is a sin. Which is worse?
The only good thing about sin is that it can be forgiven. Why should divorce be the unpardonable sin? Absolutely neither marriage or divorce should be entered into lightly.

Some teach that even the innocent party must not remarry. This is absurd. God does not punish the innocent. I know what Jesus taught. He also said to poke out your eyes if they lead you to sin. I don't know any preacher who advocates that.

Temptation is not sin. Sexual desire is normal, natural and given by God prior to the fall. It's when desire turns into lust that there is a problem.

Whether or not any preacher advocates it, Jesus meant what he said. It would be better to go through life without an eye than to have your whole body cast into hell.

Methinks that people take the topic of sin way too lightly. Jesus certainly didn't.

Churches accept divorce and remarriage for the same reason they now have 'gay marriages'. Because so called 'Christian Congregants' demand it. The congregants really aren't interestes in what God's Scripture or Jesus teaches. Sad but true.
Only one way for the Christian Congregations, it is a complete stop having wedding ceremonies in the churches.
Then there will be no more 'gay marriages' and remarriage that the church will be responsibil for.
Nowhere in the Bible do we find a priest, an apostle, a prophet, Jesus or anyone else having a wedding ceremony.
Neither is anyone given by secular authority the authority to declare two people to be married

"Why is the church so accepting of divorce and remarriage?"
Simple.

1Ti_6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Try telling a group of teens it's a sin for them to even think of sex. Have you ever read the Song of Solomon and not thought of sex. The whole book is about sex.
It actually really is not.

You seem obsessed with sex, and that's definitely not a good thing.
I already mentioned this to him a long time ago, but it looks like the obsession remains. Also the Song of Solomon is primarily about love, and secondarily about sex within marriage. And no doubt there is a higher purpose for that book to be in the Bible.

Christians who have been divorced are welcomed to the Lord’s Table. Judgmental people on the other hand, meh. 🫤

People who are divorced for an unjust cause and are not repentant are actively engaged in sin unrepentantly

Well that was kind of silly.
I know, that was the reason they announced no dating in the Singles group. Their married friends were now part of the group.

That kind of defeats the purpose of having a singles group.

You never read the book. It's about how GOD meant sex between a married couple should be.
That is a simplification, much like stating the play "Romeo and Juliet" is about suicide.

But as to the point of this thread. We have an epidemic of divorce in our culture and the "church" numbers aren't very different.
The plain fact is that divorce out side of a just cause is indeed sin; no less sinful than any of the sexual sins. Divorce is a horrific occurance even when it is justified, so much more so when it is done in sin. The emotional amd spiritual damage that is done to the divorced is bad enough, but the harm done to families, children is devistating. Our culture and many "churxhes" are far to cavalier about it.

You do know the Song of Solomon has verses about oral sex.

John I'm now more convinced than ever that your obsession with sex has completely overtaken you. I pray you get delivered from it somehow, some way.

But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion....GOD has the solution, but keeps blocking the way.
