How can praying to God that His will be done, be compared to "leaving a crack for .....
pray "if it be thy will" for healing which is leaving the door cracked for the devil to convince you that you ain't gonna receive no healin"
The above statement is an example of what is wrong with word of faith believers...

Satan doesn't need a crack to attack believers. He attacked Jesus in the desert...what crack or "legal right" did Satan have then?

None!

Jesus was and is sinless. Satan has no legal rights and never had. Satan is a mob boss who tricked people to pay for "protection" and beats them up anyway.

Don't fall into their lies.

Jesus is the divine healer. He heals not this dying body but our very souls and promises a ressurrected body that does not fall ill or suffer....not eternal life in these temporal tents.

I find it telling that a WOF believer objected to looking at the future promises of eternity at home with God.

so MR WOF, let me get this right, if a new christian woman has a sick baby and that baby dies, your saying it cos she had a lack of faith. So she can now spend the rest of her life knowing if only she had enough faith her baby would have lived. Some Father heart that is.

glad you liked the WOF Disinformation ed 101

seriously though, if you read the so called 'in defense of WOF' posts, you start to see alot of repetition...and the occasional verse so bent out of shape, you want to give it a box of back pills

one thing about all this praying over people

I will NEVER EVER...hear me now...NEVER EVER...allow ANYONE to pray over me that I do not know...and that sticketh in line with what the Bible teaches...lay hands on no man (women too since everybody jumps in like mad scientists experimenting on each other and the sensitive pay the price and then wonder what is wrong)

what has happened to 'if anyone is sick among you, let the elder pray for them'

see, the Bible admits folks get sick...but it seems to stick in the craw of WOF'ers...of course since they all have perfect health, right? and no one dies and no one ever goes to the hospital...

and prob each church should have a QUALIFIED prayer team for praying over people...men with men...women with women...

but in many WOFer circles it is a free for all

and they will be the first to point at the gifts and say they are exercising them, while throwing out the admonitions to do so decently and in order

quite a few posts back, I mentioned that God has given me several spiritual gifts...and I was promptly mocked and told one of them must be discernment because, according to the mocker, I had misunderstood a word with incorrect spelling

there just does not seem to be the grace and love of God in that type of thing

I say I do believe in healing...have seen it...and get mocked anyway because I take a stand against the TERRIBLY twisted portions of scripture used in your basic 101 WOF teachings

and there are people posting here who do NOT understand the posts...they have simply taken a knee jerk reaction

and most defense of WOF is hyper emotional to begin with

yup

Angela liked my phrase and I like this one!

exactly so...when I sometimes have to do some spiritual battling in prayer, that is exactly what I remind that fallen angel of...

he has NO rights....Jesus took them away...I am no longer a sinner...I do not have death hanging over me...I am a saint ...as Paul states in every single one of his greetings in his letters...save one

if you allow fear in your life, then the devil will operate there...perfect love casts out all fear

and so on

Yeah, and I'll take Doctor Jesus over Marcus Welby anyday!

God is the physician and His Word is the medicine.

Those that trust in man's ability be asking for trouble... cause by the time they find out man can't do anything, they are so far in unbelief they just die.

So, think of your family and at least get a big fat life insurance policy so when you croak they'll quickly forget you while spending the cash and they can get on with their lives.

wondering what your shelf life around here will be with that scoffing and sarcastic blabber of yours

you know so little and reject any and all correction

you are like a steam roller and don't care who or what you hit

that, is NOT the Holy Spirit!

When it comes to healing, we never, ever, never never have to pray "if it be thy will" cause God's Word is very quite crystal clear... He has already paid for us to be healed thru Jesus' work at the Cross.

Those that are not aware of what God says in His Word concerning this pray "if it be thy will" for healing which is leaving the door cracked for the devil to convince you that you ain't gonna receive no healin.

Ya gotta take it by force... lay hold of God's promises and make a stand, and REFUSE to back down forever!

Or, get'cha oMommaCare and call the doctor... get on board the Nanny State Train with Baby Huey!
So much for humility. You demonstrate perfectly the same attitude that the first malefactor who was crucified alongside of Christ demonstrated. He sought to manipulate Christ to save him and show His power as God. The other malefactor demonstrated humility as sought mercy as he knew he deserved nothing form God and had no price in his hand with which he might obtain any favor from God.

Both perished on the cross but one inherited eternal life the other eternal condemnation. Which cross is yours?

For the cause of Christ

Hi Lauren,

If you are talking about 1 Timothy 5:22 then I would say this is talking about ordination not praying over someone for healing.

And I agree there is emotion with some posters, but I have seen this on both sides of the fence. I have read a few of your posts where you get a bit testy as well :). But this is human nature and passion for what we believe in strongly :)

oh honey...I can assure you, you have not yet heard me being testy

and wait till God calls out this nonsense...y'all gonna hear something then

did you know He hates it when people say He said something He did not say? He REALLY does not like that...check it out in the OT

so, shall we just throw out the part where elders should pray over the SICK? or maybe all those being ordained are SICK?

whaaaaa?

listen, I may not speak or read Greek...but I have an excellent memory and really great recall...check it out...what I say is IN the Bible!!!

it is so typical to say someone is testy or nasty or attacking, when a person refutes the lies with straight forward posts

I don't play games...I don't pat little liars on the head (not talking about you) and I don't need a fan club....

I've been called quite a few names lately....ALL by WOF'ers...now isn't that Christ-like?

get real..........

go chase down the name callers and tell them THEY are testy...such hypocrisy

I did read 1 Timothy 5:22 and it is about ordination not about healing. You have to read the entire passage, like most who claim WoF people don't do.

Lets say it has something to do with healing as well. I'm not a Greek scholar also so maybe it can mean both. This is where discernment would come into play. I wouldn't so hastily say you would never lay hands on someone you didn't know.

I will let anyone pray over me because I know I am protected by the Holy Spirit.

Even if they pray to demonic spirits, they can not harm God's children.

Therefore I don't check the qualifications of those praying because I know the Source of true healing and it's not from men or women but God Himself.

God has used even the hands and actions of unbelievers to do His will in this world.

All I know is He protects us and gives us ALL we need to live a godly life for HIS glory....

Sometimes I wonder if I read the same posts based upon the replies given...pretty sure Lauren said she was okay with elders laying of hands, just that she had to trust them to be biblically sound...however, the response trying to convince her of what I thought she already believed, has me all sorts of confused.

Hmm..

Hi Ariel,

Not sure if that comment was toward what I posted. I believe Lauren was using 1 Timothy 5:22 to say she wouldn't lay hands on people she doesn't know. I believe the passage is speaking of laying hands on elders for ordination not healing. Sorry for any confusion.

1 Timothy 5
Do not receive an accusation against an elder except from two or three witnesses. Those who are sinning rebuke in the presence of all, that the rest also may fear.
I charge you before God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the elect angels that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing with partiality. Do not lay hands on anyone hastily, nor share in other people's sins; keep yourself pure.

**** that "laying of hands" is not about healing or ordination but taking someone to be judged for crimes committed...,

???? Still confused by the conversation.

You mentioned 1 Timothy 5, not Lauren...don't think she was referring to that verse at all, but I have been wrong before...maybe she will clarify.

this is the post I was commenting on with Laurern

I did make a mistake she said she would never allow anyone to lay hands on her that she didn't know. She uses scripture "lay hands on no man".

I asked her if this was referring to 1 Timothy 5:22. She never really said if she was or not but made this statement,

listen, I may not speak or read Greek...but I have an excellent memory and really great recall...check it out...what I say is IN the Bible!!!
so this told me she was referring to that bit of scripture. Sorry for any confusion

No it doesn't...she is talking about how God hates it when people say God says things He doesn't...then she says check it out in the OT...

She never answered if she was referring to 1 Timothy 5...you are just assuming she is.

Which doesn't make sense since she is talking about people laying hands on her...

"When it comes to healing, we never, ever, never never have to pray "if it be thy will" cause God's Word is very quite crystal clear... This is wrong, are you rebuking Jesus with these teachings? Because in Mat. 26:39 it says, "
39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
This is what Jesus Himself does, and just in case that isn't clear Luke 22:42 42 “Father, if You are willing, take this cup from Me. Yet not My will, but Yours be done.”

Just in case that isn't enough, when the disciples ask Jesus "how should we pray", in Matthew 6:9–13 He says "Pray then like this: 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil."

Are you sure we should " never, ever, never never have to pray "if it be thy will""??? I strongly disagree.
Just goes to show how stupid WOF is. The people who follow it are the most ignorant who live in some day dream world who impose there standards and rules upon the bible without any study or discernment.

Wow...can we disagree with people, without calling them stupid?

But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, 'Raca,' is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.

No, that is not what it is. WoF was created by a person who became a Christian Scientist and was passed to the two Kenneth's who turned the doctrine into their financial empires. Even Hagin admitted as much in 2000 with Midas Touch.

brother, i i just read that book, from cover to cover for the finance class they teach here. it teaches that what ever you set you hand to (work) God will help it prosper, if you trust in Him and His word (obey and believe His word), same with Kenyons writings, people need to stop judging people off of a few words out of context, and see what has been really said.

Trust Him and His word...hmm..

1 Timothy 6:10
New International Version
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

Jude 1:12 ►
New International Version
These people are blemishes at your love feasts, eating with you without the slightest qualm--shepherds who feed only themselves. They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind; autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted--twice dead.

God warns that there are wolves in sheep's clothing and men who seek to turn a profit.

I pray everyone has the discernment to see who are truly from God and who are not.

God will keep His people safe.

and i remember answering you but i guess you can't read... i'll make my font bigger.

You missing the whole point wanderer! You told billyd the devils holding him back for his lack of faith and that is why he is not healed. You even gave as an example in one of your post at Matthew 8:5-10 that it was the faith of the centurion that healed his own servant.
i did not say the devil was holding him back, but lying to him. he is holding himself back by a lack of faith(or unbelief in healing)

Let's say your the centurion wanderer why can't your faith heal billyd? Apply your faith to him? Secondly, Jesus Christ also healed people that did not ask Him for healing and other people He healed that had no faith. Read Matthew 14:14. Don't you have compassion of billyd? I don't think so because you blamed the devil for holding him back and blamed him for not having enough faith. So now what are you going to tell me wanderer?
why can't i heal him... i have no authority over him, he is not my servant like the centurion in this case. I cannot apply my faith to him, or even ask for him, but only pray with him on his accord, that is the right, that is the legal way you could say it is. and Christ healed others by the GIFT of healing.

and what i am going to tell you is you have no comprehension of the words FAITH and BELIEF, you lack understanding and need to educate yourself.

I also take note about how you seem to have the "inside scoop" on what really happened about hagin's death. Who told you this information? Moreover, hagins sister died of cancer, where was her healing? hagins grandson was diagnosed of having a brain tumor and needed surgery immediatley. K. hagin senior wore glasses and so does hagin junior, why wanderer?
Craig Hagin, the grandson, hes one of the teachers. i do not know about the sister, i don't know what she believed. but Craig, his dad, and granddad all talked about what you mention with the brain tumor, they use it to teach in WOF to still stand on modern medicine and prayer. he was taken to the hospital (city of faith) and they prayed for a perfect operation, and recovery. guess what, he had a perfect operation and recover. no trace of the tumor even tho they didn't get it all, and the burr holes they basically drilled in his skull completely healed.

They can't even heal their own bad eyesight, why don't you blame them for the devil holding them back and lack of faith? Yet you blame billyd for his lack of faith. What hypocrisy! And remember, I ask you why you have not cleared out some the sick folkd in the hospitals? What's holding you back?

IN GOD THE SON,
bluto
so again, i don't operate in the gift of healing, i can't do that. but i will pray all day long with people on healing, where they are at. its not the devil, its not me, its not even God keeping healing from many, its there own faith(belief in the word of God) that hinders.
