And you are deliberately misquoting and deliberating twisting content to feign indignation and offence.
I have never directed you to shun your nephew or treat him disparagingly, nor do I shun unbelievers.
I preach Jesus Christ and the his salvation. I preach how a person can be born from above and have a new life serving God,
living for God.
And yes that is a surefire way to win converts. My testimony about how I used to be and my old life, how by the power of God I was converted and live a new life.
People must be searching for God and seeking truth to accept the need for repentance.
I do not need to go into a hotel and drink alcohol to be one with those who are not set free from the bondage of sin - I only
need to share with them how the Lord through the indwelling Holy Spirit set me free from alcohol, cigarettes, etc.
Those who are pleased by hearing this thirst for more and I pray that another will water.

Get off your high horse and come to terms with your failure to be an ambassador unto Christ Jesus.
Did you witness to all the other people at this reception? Did you preach Jesus and repentance to them?
There's more at stake here than just your nephew.
High horse? I'm sorry, you must be looking at a mirror not me. That little piece of Christ's love, mr ambassador, gets you put on ignore. NOW are how you going to preach your garbage to me?

Sad how some professing to be followers of Jesus hate the gospel and obedience to his commandments …
so the word of God is now garbage (rubbish, trash)

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Mark 1:15 & Matthew 3:2 & 4:17 & Mark 6:12 & Luke 13:3&5

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,
and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 2:38
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the
presence of the Lord;
Acts 3:19
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commands all men every where to repent:
Acts 17:30

You STILL haven't shown ONE example where Jesus turned His back on sinners.

You say becoming Christian gives you the right to shun unbelievers as a way to show them your Christian love.

But to unbelievers, you're just a stuck up snob they will never listen to.

Yeah that's a sure fire way to win converts!
HE did not have to because they leave him. But we do have this.

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.

We should heed HIS; the Word. For He has said,

"Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican."

(Mat 23:37- 24:1; 18:15-17 KJV)

Then Christ through Paul said...
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself. Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

(Rom 16:17-18; Tit 3:10-11; 2Th 3:6; 1Co 5:4-6, 11-13 KJV)

I would say this, He that winneth souls is wise, if you want him to come to the truth of God,
you should go, and let him know that even though you do not support or condone his marrage, you still love him.
Yes we should let them know we Love them but Not so! A Christian's presence in Christ should make said individual very uncomfortable. And to attend such a event should make one in Christ VERY uncomfortable; sick in the heart to tears to say the least.

By not attending very well maybe what converts one back to Christ's living Fold. But then if our heart is right and full of Christ, anguishing for the lost. Travailing as giving birth, seen in our tears and in our countenance. Hurting and pleading for their lost soul. Then attend because that might be what turns such a one from the evil of their ways.

I am sure ricky has preached to his nephew many times. As for the rest of the wedding party, well its an opportunity to preach if you were to make any wedding speech. But you need to treat it like a mission field. You need to pray and ask God to equip you to do this.

If it were me, and God has sent me to these people to preach, I could hardly turn away like Jonah tried to do for Ninevah even though he didnt like the ninevites. He said what God wanted him to say. And surprisingly, the ninevites did repent. But you know what, the message God sent them was he was going to destroy them. They had 40 days. But GOd showed Jonah that He had compassion. Why because he gave them warning. GOd gave no such warning to sOdom and Gomorrah he only told Abrahm he was getting Lot and his family out. It seemed the rest did not want to hear. Also abraham did not go to sodom and gomorrah to rescue Lot, God sent his angels.
Teaching and preaching are 2 different things, preaching is more of the "Thus saith the Lord." where as teaching is explaining What God says, why he says it, and what the scriptures say about it, Ricky probably has tried preaching, but has he ever tried a different approach like teaching?

By being separate to the world - for real Christians are sanctified, set apart from the world (which belongs to Satan).
We preach love by the power of our testimonies to having been called out of the world and converted by the power of the gospel.
We preach the love and sacrifice of Jesus for those who are lost, who are dead, who know not God.
We preach how a person can have a personal relationship with Jesus through the indwelling Holy Spirit - that is Jesus and the Father
dwelling within a person and empowering them to live a new life acceptable to God.
We preach the hope of eternal life.

The day I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and spoke out in tongues I was instantly healed from marijuana and cigarettes,
alcohol and using speed.
I do not need to partake of marijuana again to witness to an addict nor shoot up to have credibility with a person I am witnessing to.
Far from it. My abstinence, my being set free, is the very act of love that I and Jesus desire to share with them.

Jesus did hang out with sinners, but not to be one of them, but rather to preach to them the gospel of salvation.
Ricky's nephew does not need encouragement, nor acceptance, nor endorsement from his "Christian" uncle. Ricky's nephew needs to
understand that not everyone accepts his lifestyle and moral bankruptcy, and as to why.

Jesus came into the world not just to save people from themselves and the enemy, but to make dead people alive.
I think you mean Seperate from the world, We are to be in the world, but not of it.

What about Matthew 9:10-13
9 And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

or Matthew 11:7-19
7 And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
8 But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings' houses.
9But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.
10 For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
14And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.
15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
16 But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,
17 And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.
18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.
19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

Or Mark 2:13-17
13 And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them.
14 And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.
15 And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him.
16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?
17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Ask him, but to teach at gay wedding probably is not the right venue they not going to listen there. Everyone may be drunk or high or stuffed full of rich food and listening to elton john.

They know where I stand ... and that the door is open whenever they want to talk.

Again, I find it interesting that despite the pleas Kevin wouldn't publicly kiss Saul. I think that's a good sign...

Your first paragraph needs context. Jesus wasn't shunning sinners, He was preparing to die for them.

The second and third paragraphs apply to those who claim to be saved. As I already pointed out, how we act towards sinners is different than how we are to act towards sinning believers.

So one day you may get your nephew turn up at your door wanting to talk about salvation. Be prepared.

Thats why my original advice was to go, and just tell him that he doesn't support or condone what he is doing but that he is there because he loves him.

Ok, Yes it does, I think that is true, I know it is for the purpose of the illistration,
but I think I would use the metafore, "that every journey begins with a single step."

I think that is mentioned somewhere in Proverbs. I love that book of the bible as it is chock full of useful pertinent counsel. I agree with your estimation too. You're on target with the preaching estimation as well.

I don't think I have seen it, but I will look it up, I am not seeing it,
I see flies in the Bible, I see Honey, I see Bitterness, I see vinegar,
I dont see that metafore,

The closest I can find are these ones.

Isaiah 7:15 Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.

Number 6:3
He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried.

Proverbs 10:26
As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.

Let me know if you know the reference verse.

Thank you, I appreciate that, but its like the Bible says, There is no counsel or Wisdom against the Lord. Wisdom itself comes from God himself.

Perhaps one of these... ?

Proverbs 15:1-2
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool spouts folly.

Proverbs 15:18
A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger calms dispute.

Proverbs 25:15
Through patience a ruler can be persuaded, and a gentle tongue can break a bone.

Proverbs 10:12
Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

Proverbs 28:25
He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.
