A common opinion. Unfortunately, rape has very little to with sex drive, and such an action often makes things even worse if the offender returns to society.

I think what Willie-T is saying, is that by doing this, society can expect an alienated person once said person is turned loose. There are some surveys regarding solitary confinement showing that prisoners being held like that are more likely to seek revenge on society after being released. I think we may have to take a closer look at how humiliation is creating more crime.

Then we would need to rewrite our laws, hence a lot of heinous crimes don't carry the DP or life without parole. A rapist may could be a life w/o parole candidate, but that would mainly be a decision made by the courts.

It's too bad that our governments and their officials are all so corrupt. Maybe if they were moralistic, these monsters would get what they deserve: life in prison.. I've heard of robbers getting life, yet a rapist gets to walk free after only a few years..

You just brought up a subject that I have dealt with for decades, as someone who has worked with rapists (among others) for a long, long time. We as a nation do not have the ________ (fill in the blank) to make rape a mandatory death sentence. We return rapists back to society at an alarming rate.

And as a living person who is still very much the same angry (among having other problems) person we locked-up for a while, they still have not only a propensity for solving problems the same old way they learned growing up, they are now seething with an anger (If you had them castrated) that they cannot satiate with rape.... since that part no longer functions... So, I will give you three guesses as to how that anger comes out...... and the first two guesses don't count.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, the first inclination is to rant and holler and get indignant and speak of all sorts of "should haves" or "should be's".... But we never did any of those. We let them back out. So, crying, ranting, and stamping our feet in frustration does nothing. We still have the actually, real-life situation to deal with.

They should all be put in a special prison specifically for rapists. Then they could all talk about how perverted they are, and how they wish they hadn't made the choice to violate people.. And I agree, life in prison would be ideal.

If people find out about a person being raped here, villagers will usually get to the culprit first and hang them/kill them....the police only come to recover the body....sure there are incidences where policemen get bribed by rapists to look the other way but 7/10 times if villagers find out about it....that dude runs away b/c there is capital punishment and no mercy.....

You are totally correct. And, although many of you will not believe this, a lot of them honestly do commit other crimes precisely for the purpose of getting themselves sent back. Many of them know the world is safer with them locked up, and they, themselves, see to it.

Unfortunately, here in America, you, yourself might just end up behind bars for that, possibly for life.

Yea like in shawshank redemption, the old guy once he was freed couldn't hack the world so he hung himself in his hotel room.....I believe the term they use is "institutionalized" in that once a prisoner lives in a cell block for so long he becomes dysfunctional in the real world and dealing with others...that he longs for the cell again...
