I apologize, I should have known that people unaware of logic are not capable of understanding sarcasm.
Yea ..coming on a forum and calling the first person that disagrees with you a racist ...is not sound logic.

that was textbook trolling, but anyway back to the matter at hand...,..
this is why I dread to ever go to the emergency room because I know I'm going to be there for 3 to 4 hours minimum.....and why does it cost over $1,000 just to draw my blood and prescribe an antibiotic?
I live in Missouri and a few years back I went to Truman medical center East to their emergency room.

It was not busy and there was only 3 other people waiting to be seen, yet I sat there for 6 hours before being seen. I told them I would never come back here again as that was ridiculous.

The answer I got back surprised me, as they said this is what happens when you come to a hospital that deals with low income or no insurance families. Seriously !!!

So money determines how good of medical care you get, that is terrible !!!

You forgot about the part that leaves huge numbers of previously uninsured (such as myself) who are still incapable of affording health insurance but now they are getting taxed extra to help pay for everyone else's insurance subsidies.

That is not exactly true and is one of many lies from the media.

Yes some do pay higher premiums now, but I know some people on Obamacare that pay less then what they use to. It is not just a one way situation as being reported.

Also most people don't realize Obama's first plan when he took office was a fully 100% funded government healthcare system. Not the system we have now.

He made changes and changes to it until it got approved, yet the media sources and such would have you believe no Republicans voted for it.

This all stems down to the government trying to keep Republicans and Democrats against each other, keeping our country divided do to lies !!!

that includes me too....I do not qualify for the government subsidies which leaves me with no health care but I still have to pay higher taxes to pay for other people's health care

Health care in America stinks !!!!

That is the only way to put it, and there is 3 countries I have heard of that have 100% government funded health care programs and they are rated the best in the world.

It keeps getting turned down here because politicians and private doctor's use scare tactic's on the public to keep it from being approved here.

The truth is private doctor's would no longer be able to charge higher cost for the same procedure as public hospital doctor's, and they give money to the politicians to lie saying you can no longer pick your own doctor's and you will be forced to go where they tell you to.

People wake up we have to do that now in the system we have, as not all hospitals do the same procedures.

I have a hospital 23 miles from my house, but if I was to have cancer or a stroke I would have to go over 100 miles away to a different hospital.

Then I have two parents who is and was living on social security, yet medicare charges them $107 dollars a month, and this does not even cover prescription costs. They had to get a secondary insurance which costs even more money a month just to have prescriptions covered.

That is just ridiculous !!!

Then you get people complaining at somebody who is at least trying to make a change in the system, and most of the complaints come from others who have absolutely no other solution in place.

Then you go to emergency rooms where there maybe only two or three other people waiting but yet still wait for 3 to 4 hours before even being seen.
Ken, you're right. Healthcare cost, especially for low and middle income families is ridiculous. Obamacare hasn't, nor will it improve the situation. I support extending medicare to cover everyone. I support increasing the medicare portion of our taxes to cover the complete cost of it.

As I stated earlier, I have asked many people from countries with universal healthcare, and I have not found a single person who would give it up.

We have spent enough funding the security of the rest of the world. It is time for the rest of the world to fund it's own security. Our savings here will more than pay for universal healthcare.

Also, emergency room would decrease because they would no longer have 80% non emergency clients.

How balanced are those two sides? S*** rolls down hill. Doctors can only do what they are allowed to do and they have to make a living.

It's sad to see so much of the uninsured lower middle class unable to find any affordable insurance that will pay for their family healthcare. They pay a fine, or they pay for insurance that has a deductible that exceeds the cost of needed services.

Yea if they are going to make this universal healthcare thing work...they have do something about these doctors padding the books... My mom has been on Tn care deal and these doctors and drug companies just charge the government for whatever..even if the patient don't really need it...its a big con game and it makes a honest system almost impossible to have.

I don't mind doctors making money. But every dollar that ends up in a shareholder's pocket is a dollar someone paid for healthcare but didn't get. That healthcare in America is a for-profit enterprise is just sick - no pun intended.

Let's not forget that Romney promoted it first. Not a fan of either one.

The doctor who did my open heart surgery five years ago got paid almost $10,000. He did four more open heart surgeries that day. He does that two days a week. Medicare pays for most of those surgeries. I don't think that he has any trouble making a good living. In fact, if you drive around my neighborhood, I believe that you'll find that all our doctor's make a good living. That won't change with universal healthcare.

You hit on the biggest problem with any type of healthcare. It's the fleecing of the system by unsavory people. That includes doctors, patients, insurance companies, drug companies and healthcare support companies. Combine that with the high cost of law suits, and it boils over. We can't use this fleecing as an excuse for failing to provide universal healthcare. The best that we can do is to make the consequences (fines and jail time) of getting caught fleecing so high that it will discourage it.

Our little friend has a God complex that zaps him of all credibility. It'd be funny if it wasn't so pathetically sad. Case in point: He joins the site three days ago; in one post he states I'm not Christian and in another he states I'm racist. One thing I've learned in life, Mitspa, I don't waist time with people who couldn't be more wrong about me.

If he took the time to sit back, observe and learn before typing, he'd in fact have gained insight regarding the people he judges, and incorrectly at that. Then it would be my joyful pleasure to share with him, teach him as well as humbly learn from him.

But I digress. I like pet projects; this one should be fun. :)

You and I bang heads, but through it all I have great love for you because I know you truly love the Lord and I consider you a brother. I have openly referred to you as such. I encourage you to prayerfully embrace the following Scripture: 1 John 4:20-21. It changed my life, and I want that for you.

On a side note, what's Ijs?
