If it's a temporary ban, while better vetting and legislation is put in place, then it's perfectly fine.

If it's left as a permanent fix, then it's not fine.

Since the order is only 2 days old, we can't really make that distinction yet.
Four months, (for now.) That's a full semester if you're a college student studying abroad. That's loss of job for those who just got a good position in the country. That's abandonment and death to those who interpreted for us in war-torn countries under the promise we'd bring them and their families here to safety when it was time.

yes.

Obama 276, G.W. Bush 291

Clinton 364, Reagan 381, and FDR the untouchable all-time record of 3,721

((but who needs facts when we have "
ALTERNATIVES" ??))
In that case, Obama should have assumed he might not have his successor that he planned, and hopscotched through the law much faster. lol

Its too bad no one speaks out for the Christians when Muslims come after them, besides other Christians.
Actually, in that time in history, the Christians did speak up for the Jews.
6 million Jews were killed?
6 million Christians were too.

Or one gets thru and murders someone's son or daughter. Life can't be restarted. A job or education can be.

I find it an amazing and amusing coincidence, that America and England, so often inter-woven together over the last 3 centuries in world events are both taking a our nation first attitude at exactly the same time.
There is a great difference between what is going on in the UK and what is happening in the US. The main reason that we want to leave the EU is because many of our laws are forced on us by unelected Bureaucrats in Brussels. There has been a large number of people who have been against our membership of the EU for decades. It is only with the election of the Conservative Party led by David Cameron in 2015 that we have had the opportunity of putting it to the vote.

The immigration issue is about control of our borders not as to what religious allegiance individuals have. In fact the majority of people that cause concern here are from Europe with its open border policy. Those coming here are mainly
of a Christian background from Eastern Europe .

That's actually not too different from US at all. For the entirety of my lifetime the politicians, our parents' generation have been defrauding us, their own children to take care of everyone else in the world's children, many of whom openly hate us and want to kill us.

So we sent our craziest nationalist grandpa, their parents, to Trump-stump them and to set things back to how they really should be.

even simpler.

it's only "tyranny" when you're not a Republican.

;)

remember, Bush put out more executive orders than Obama did.

how many more? what about presidential memoranda?

 i'd make a terrible trial attorney; i don't know the answer to either question.

i do have vague memories of a class way back in high school, tho, where the (retired Yale) prof said FDR issued over 3,000 EOs.
he was in office a lot longer, natch, but i bet he holds the record per annum. ;)

the problem is that if that's the rationale, a competent person might want to consider actually banning foreign nationals from a country that a terrorist who attacked the US has come from.

but not one terrorist has ever come from a single one of the countries mr. Trump banned, and not one country that a person who committed a terrorist act on US soil comes from was affected. ((over the last 20 years))

what he's done is ban a half dozen countries that are predominately Muslim, avoiding both those from which terrorists have actually come from, and those which he personally profits from.

this doesn't fit your guess at motive.

The funny thing is that trump is simply enforcing immigration policy penned by Obama. The media is about to get owned again.

1. I don't get to immigrate to any country I want, just because I want to.

2. I don't get to immigrate to any country I want, without being checked out.

There is nothing unfair about this.

It isn't the responsibility of the U.S. to solve the problems of every single person on the entire earth...
and also agree to do it in 4 months.

The U.S. just isn't responsible for everyone on the entire planet.

(I won't even get into your hyperbole and exaggeration of rare or non-existent potentialities.)

I don't get to do everything I want in the universe,
and I'm not going to weep crocodile tears because everyone else can't either.
Good grief.

This is just silly.

maybe not an entire planet, but according to the bible it does have
responsibilities.

Luke 10:25-37 NKJV
[25] And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, "Teacher, what
shall I do to inherit eternal life?" [26] He said to him, "What is written in the law?
What is your reading of it?" [27] So he answered and said, " 'You shall love the LORD
your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with
all your mind,' and 'your neighbor as yourself.'"

[28] And He said to him, "You have answered rightly; do this and you will live." [29] But
he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?" [30] Then Jesus
answered and said: "A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among
thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

[31] Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he
passed by on the other side. [32] Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came
and looked, and passed by on the other side. [33] But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed,
came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion.

[34] So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set
him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. [35] On the next
day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said
to him, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I
will repay you.'

[36] So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?"
[37] And he said, "He who showed mercy on him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."

He gave noticed. He told us exactly what he was going to do from the time he started running to election day.

We jumped and said, "Oh, boy! Sounds good. You got my vote!"

It was a tad sudden. And exemptions should have been put in place for those previously cleared. I'll be honest. I was surprised that the sweep was this broad this quickly. But I also don't know how else it could have been done without alerting the ill-intentioned. I'm thinking it'll be sorted out soon.

Loving your neighbor doesn't mean you give everyone on earth whatever they happen to want.

We need to stay in reality, and not venture into the absurd.

It's perfectly fine for a country to have laws, and policies, and immigration standards.

In the Bible... uhhh... Israel had some pretty stiff immigration standards... established by God.

If you want to take this debate into the scripture... a liberal view is not going to do well.

Never said it wasn't. :) But there has to be room within that for helping the needy.

Didn't seem sudden or surprising to me. I mean he did say he would for well over a year. Many disbelieved him before the election. I saw the media disbelieve him after the election saying he was just all talk. Guess they were the ones that were wrong. Trump does what he says, those the believe understand, those that disbelieve will be astounded.

Even Louis Farrakhan, the RADICAL MUSLIM LEADER says....

Muslim immigrants are DANGEROUS,

and Trump needs to ban or carefully vet them.

I'm not supporting this youtube channel, or the people doing the interview,
but it is footage of a real interview.
