Why talk about legality?

Daddy Bush by all accounts was a marksman in 1963
LBJ was a criminal who got off the hook by becoming President
Bush, excuse me, urinated all over international law when he invaded Iraq
Obama continued in the same vein, meanwhile urinating all over the constitution, and hiding the fact he was not even a legal President.

Trump is in the emergency theatre with patient USA right now...if he is actually a vet but he saves you, do you really care?
I believe that too. Maybe not all the details. But Kennedy was trying to rescue us as well. I think the difference between Trump and Kennedy is that JFK didn't fully grasp what this group of traitors were/are capable of. I pray for President Trump that he will be kept safe from harm and will be successful in smoking out the rats for all to see.

I do think it amusing that after all people and screamed about the massive number of executive orders Obama put out, that now they are dissatisfied that Trump is doing exactly the same thing.

Does it only count when the president is doing what you want, instead of fulfilling his promises to his voters?
even simpler.

it's only "tyranny" when you're not a Republican.

;)

remember, Bush put out more executive orders than Obama did.

Doesn't really answer the question though does it.

I was asking because while Trump may wish to ban people from 7 countries, it would be
impractical to ban people from every country, especially the oil/gas producing countries.
I don't suppose he will ever ban them even if they were 100% for Isis. Lol
Actually, because of the oil embargos in the 70's, the US has been (except for the last 8 years) working toward oil independence. We've got the oil, (granted, thanks, in part, to the Canadians), to keep us going without the arab nations. All we have to do is be willing to frack for it. (Why did that sound like a dirty word from a dystopian story? lol) Or pipe it! We got that with this guy.

We can go back to drilling in the Gulf, back to that drilling in Alaska, back to the Dakota and Keystone pipelines, back to fracking. (And, I'm not convinced fracking is a good idea yet, but Trump just did it anyway.)

I know this hasn't been a big story on the news, but we're really stuck with MSM are leftists, so we don't hear the news unless we search for it, (or happen to live in a family that worked for a large oil company, so we do get what's going on in that field just by upbringing.)

US politics is very complicated.
Over here they all just have a big argument, shout at each other, then
have a vote, shake hands and slap each other on the back about their
linquistic skills.

Yeah, that's really worked out really well.
It really has. You should check out some American history on who we vetted to come into this country that worked out well. (It wasn't Americans that made the atom bomb. It wasn't Americans who built our computer networking structure. And it wasn't Americans that gave us what we needed to take down the USSR, East Germany, and people like Bin Laden and Saddam Hussain.)

On another positive note - at least we get to read some other news which
doesn't involve the Brexit. I'm sick to death of reading about the Brexit. :)
In America, Brexit came and went. All that worry that the act would cause a worldwide recession didn't happen, so you got what you wanted and all worked out in the end.

(We are very much a self-absorbed people, as you can tell. lol)

It's all about the Me, huh? There isn't a ban on Christians. There isn't a ban on any religion. There is a ban, on some countries, (not even the ones that do scare us), including people from those countries who WERE LEGAL ALIENS!

Maybe you don't understand because you're too busy worrying about how it affects you, and since it doesn't, (as far as you can see), it just doesn't matter.
Really?

Seriously?

Syria
Iraq
Iran
Libya
Somalia
Yemen
Sudan

You think those are lovely tourists spots?

When's the last time you spent a holiday in Syria?

This executive order was not well thought out. I don't believe that executive orders are legally binding. Passing a law is one thing, merely signing an executive order is just a Band-Aid on a perceived problem. This order should be rescinded until a more thoughtful effective process can be implemented. Right now there is chaos.

I don't disagree with vetting people throughly at all, but one person cannot say I don't want
you in my adopted country, when they have already been granted legal access rights and have
done nothing wrong.

I'd agree with this.

One person can't just stomp their feet and make all the laws by themselves - they became a
law unto themselves and that is far too much power for one person to have. Instead of a democracy
you end up with a dictatorship. I hope for the sake of the American people that the US doesn't become a
dictatorship. I doubt it will but Trump seems to relish the idea of that.

Think Barrack Obama.

I don't disagree completely with some of his sentiments and I wish the UK was better at vetting people
and we adopted something along the lines of the Australian model,
but the way Trump is
charging in with little thought or consideration of the impact, is suggestive of a person with
narcissistic tendencies.

How is isolating wannabe immigrants on an island more humane than preventing them to come over in the first place ? If Trump had given notice (say a month or so) of his intent, would it be unrealistic to think that many undesirables would have tried to "beat his deadline" for entry ? I think they would have. No matter how this issue was approached, fault would be found somewhere. Trump's sending a message ... a strong one. Those already properly screened won't have an issue ... except for a few month delay before returning to status quo for them. The undesirables and ill-intentioned already in the U.S. now know that new recruits won't be joining them anytime soon. It's a tough stance. But so are the consequences of not doing anything.
He gave noticed. He told us exactly what he was going to do from the time he started running to election day.

We jumped and said, "Oh, boy! Sounds good. You got my vote!"

If it's a temporary ban, while better vetting and legislation is put in place, then it's perfectly fine.

If it's left as a permanent fix, then it's not fine.

Since the order is only 2 days old, we can't really make that distinction yet.

You are banging your head against a brick wall - a good UK saying. Lol
American saying too. And I tend to have permanent lumps on my forehead from continually doing just that. lol

So if there was ban on Christians will there be a massive protest from liberals and the rest of America to fight for our rights? I highly doubt it. I never understood why the left hates Christianity so much but support Islam and Muslims to the fullest?

Hi Socreta,

Jesus told us if the world hates Him, the world will hate us. If Jesus is your Lord and Savior, He lovingly warned us that this would happen.

The world includes conservatives, liberals, ISIS, everyone who hates Jesus..........they will all hate us too. The more we live the truth of
Jesus, the more we'll find just how much they really do hate us.

You have to view American politics as being similar to a football match. You root for your side no matter what and you view the opposing side as The Enemy. Your goal isn't so much to do what's in the best interest of your country but rather what's in the best interest of your political party and political ideology (your team and team mates). It's all a game. Your biggest enemy is not anyone from another country but instead your fellow countrymen for holding different beliefs on how the country should run. Once you realize all of this then it's actually quite easy to understand American politics.

Typo alert: I forgot to add "the most." As in "Those aren't even the countries that scare us the most." And I was going with Angela's list.

yes.

Obama 276, G.W. Bush 291

Clinton 364, Reagan 381, and FDR the untouchable all-time record of 3,721

((but who needs facts when we have "
ALTERNATIVES" ??))

The Supreme Court's laws aren't binding either, and yet, in both cases everyone jumps and does it, unless someone in the three branches speaks up and says No loud enough that the workers are willing to stop enforcing it.
