Peavey stinks. Might as well name it Behringer. :p

Now if you named it MOTU that would be different. MOTU would be a good thing.

'modest is hottest'
Such a contradiction. It's like trying to mix a little of the world in to make modesty cool.
Or, as i read in another thread 'sexual purity is sexy'.
Sorry, no, it's not sexy. That's just weird. It is a good thing, but sexy? No.
I just can't get my head around this mentality of sexualizing the idea of not being sexual. Seems like it's trying to make it racy to make it appealing, which defeats the purpose.

I don't like the whole "hashtag SO BLESSED" thing.

I could go on a whole rant about it but I'll just leave it at that. :)

On your first note, I am reminded of the words of the Apostle Paul, when he said, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;" (1 Timothy 2:5)

For this reason, I am not necessarily offended when someone refers to the Lord as "the man".

My biggest pet peeve is people who claim to be Christian, proclaim and preach it, but then do not live it or pick and choose what they want to follow. Often showing how hypocritical they are. I am a big person who believes that it isn't our job to judge, it is God's. No one needs to answer to anyone but God when the time comes.

People refer me as a religious person....I prefer having a relationship with Jesus and not be religious..

Playing dolls with things of God. If you've witnessed this, you'll know what I'm talking about because it's hard to word. Dude, no. Just no.

Another one that REALLY bothers me is when people refer to God and "having a drink with Him." That has always struck me as being a bit weird, even before coming to God I felt that to be tacky and weird. I don't think God is much into having a beer with you. There's even a 'country' song out there that goes as far as to say, "Having a beer with Jesus." Just plain wrong, imo.

I've never cared for the belief that Christianity isn't a religion but a relationship. The fact is that it's both. Jesus was a deeply religious man but He was and still is actively interested in drawing us to Him or drawing us deeper into Him, if we already love and trust and know Him.

I'm saying when people make "Holy Spirit" whip tops and suches. Something in that category.
I've seen people do that kind of stuff (again, hard to word) and that sort of attitude towards God's things and it is damaging to them and those around them.

This is a pp that some may find offensive for me to even bring it up. I'm not actually "offended" by much of anything, so I can't say I'm offended by this, but I just can't understand WHY this happens. I'm talking about "preacher talk". It's when a preacher or minister takes on a different form of speech or a kind of "religious accent". The kind of accent that can turn "Jesus" into 3 syllables - Jay-EEEE-sus. Or "heal" Hi-EEE-alll. Or in a sentence - "Washed awAAAAyeee your seee-yunnns.
I never will forget watching this guy on TV. Ernest Angely...

Ernest.jpg

i'm not trying to make light of Ernest but I watched him on TV once and he was doing some faith healing and and he held this little boy by the ears saying "Can ya heee-errrr what i'm say-innnnnnn". The little feller was deaf and he just stood kinda of staring at Ernest. So Ernest rared back and slapped both hands on his ears and yelled Hi-eee--ulllll and the boy fell back and when they got him back up he was kind of blinking and was all rattled and Ernest said "Can ya heeer-errr me nowww-uh" and the boy was clearly dazed so Ernest hit him square in the forehead with the heel of his hand and yelled "Heeee-ulll-uh this boy-uh!" and the poor kid got back up all stunned and Ernest hushed the crowd with his hands and leaned down to the boy with his microphone and said in a kind of whisper "Can ya heeerrr menow son" and the kid raised his hands and said "I believe I tan!!"Ernest raised his hands and "Praaaaaaase the Lo--errrrr-da"

Now I believe in the power of prayer and I believe in faith healing and it's very possible this child could hear at the end of that service - that's not the question. The question is WHY do some of these preachers talk like this? Why?

Maybe it is just the Southern accent?

When you say to someone "I have a prayer request," tell them, and then they try to tell you what you're doing is wrong. I know it's wrong, that's why I need the prayer. And I didn't ask for a judgment call.

Jokingly, a la Steve Hawkins, when someone has sweaty hands or squeezey hands while in a prayer circle. I get so distracted.

"God made dirt, dirt don't hurt." Yeah it does, He had someone throw dirt in water to make it sour and cause stomache swelling.
And God made animals and they make poop, and you don't hear anything bout that.

That creaky noise a pew makes EVERY time you move.

That one kid who can't sing is always right in front of the mic at the Christmas play. It's cute, but dang.

Drummers who play way too loud in service. Also very distracting.

Is it bad that I don't like shoutie preachers as much? They kinda freak me out.
