He's right. I've seen many marriages come out of relationships that began in CC, and most of them were on different continents... A few couples I can think of, one was in Canada, the other in Australia, one in the US and one in Australia, One in Canada and the other in New Zealand, One in Australia and the other in England, one in Canada and the other in Albania..... It's amazing how little distance matters when you just find the right person.
When I find the right person I hope to keep her at a distance forever...

just think how peaceful the relationship would be!

: )

You've got to stop wearing bells when sneaking up on people. It really ruins the surprise.
But Chris... I thought THE answer to the majority of life's dilemma's is... more cowbell. MORE cowbell. As in, I NEED to wear my cowbell.

Moo. As in, "MMMMMOOOO... MMMMOOOO... I have a crush on YYYYOOOOUUUU. " *jingle, jingle, for effect*

Ah yes. MORE COWBELL.

(Think of how disappointed Christopher Walken would be if I went without it.)

On the other hand, if any of the guys hear a cowbell in the distant background... they know what's going on. Seoulsearch might just have a crush on them.

Hey, I never said I was subtle. (Case in point, the shoes you just mentioned...) Blending in ain't my thing, baby!

Many CC crushes have turned into fruitful relationships and marriage regardless of distance and others have gone more along these lines

Yeah, it's always a bit of a downer when you find out that a guy on CC you may or may not have been slightly crushing on... turns out to be a girl posing as a guy. (Yes, true story of my own experience.)

What's that saying... there plenty are other (cat) fish in the sea...

P.S. If anyone is interested in developing crushes on Seoulsearch, let me talk to her agent. She may now be taking applications. :D

This is why I say I'd have to meet the person face-to-face first, to know they really are who they say they are.

A long time ago a guy here posted about developing a huge crush on a CC girl and traveled a great distance to meet her when she refused to talk on cam, etc. He arrived in her town, called her and said he was there, and she burst into tears on the phone, said she couldn't meet him, and hung up.

He never did meet her. And while I'm not sure exactly what happened (this was years ago and neither person is here anymore), I don't think she ever talked to him again, and disappeared from CC.

At least, under that name. I've been here a long time. And I've seen several users "leave" but come back under different names. Why? Because they're phishing for more crushes to lead on... and let go as soon as they get too close. If you're here long enough, read enough posts, and pay attention to what people say about themselves... It's not too hard to figure out. Though there are some I'm surprised no one has caught on to after such a long time. But I digress. Or it could just be me.

Sorry to turn so serious for a minute, but if you DO have a crush on someone... always make sure they are who they say they are! (Banana Pie had an excellent thread on catfishing some time ago... Be sure to check it out sometime!)

Aussie Land does have some pretty awesome people. Lol. A couple of my best online friends, whom I've adopted as my virtual sisters are from there.

True true.

I'm also not very subtle either Kim.

Even my camoflage jacket is blaze orange. The only thing that I can hide behind is a parking cone.

I don't want to spoil any of the fun here, so please keep posting about crushes :), but I do want to warn people to be careful.

In my time on CC, I have had many, many people write me and say, "Hey, I used to be..." and sometimes, they would be a girl posing as a guy or vice versa. The number one reason they gave me for doing this was because they had a conflict with someone on CC and/or a CC relationship that went bad. Many times, you could guess who they used to be just from their style of posting or from what they said, even if the personalities seemed to be completely opposite.

For some reason, I've also found that it's very hard to convince people otherwise if they are seeing what they want to see. The person could probably be standing right there in front of them (though they wouldn't be, of course, because they are hiding their true identity) and they still wouldn't believe, or would readily believe any excuse.

As I said, I don't mean to judge anyone, I just feel it's wrong to deceive people about who you are, even if it's on the internet and seems harmless. It's not. People's hearts get broken here just as much as in real life.

All I can say is, friends, save yourself a world of grief.

Make sure you know who it is you're talking to.

I myself have thought of leaving for a while and coming back. But I'd either use this name again, if it wasn't being used, or I would publicly announce who I used to be so that if people remembered me, they would know who I am. This is just my own conviction though--I believe that God deals with me strongly about being honest, and that includes being honest about myself.

I don't know about crushes, but I've been charmed and delighted by several CC members.

Oh, you want NAMES?

Kenthomas makes my heart melt with his Pepe Le Pew impersonations.

Maxwel held me entranced with his steady mono-eyeballed gaze.

Catherder told a story once about a cat peeing on his pants that captivated me.

Roh-Chris' quick wit and regretless bear routine is a delight to me.

Stilly posted a gif one time that made me laugh for ten minutes.

Shouryu wooed me with his larp gai.

Decyple's arm wrestling techniques had me swooning (after I beat him and made him accept American puritans as totally legit).

Ugly's word banter made me smile many times.

ServantStrike's musket and war reenactment garb had my heart pitter-pattering.

And that's just the men.

...Many times, you could guess who they used to be just from their style of posting or from what they said,...
...many times, I have come to recognize who they are just from what they've said and then contradict themselves in later --or former-- posts.

Just today reading another thread, I recognized who "stabbed a kid with a pencil" and who the "Grand Poobah Troll" were. From other threads, I've recognized contradictions other peeps have made ill-miss representation of themselves and well, the works enough to Keep Calm and Learn! :)

Okie dokie, pardon me for hijacking this thread.
