Here's a question to ponder.... If you took money out of the equation, what would men and women have left to argue about?

The only perfect relationship that exists on the world is the one that Jesus has with us. Note: I said it’s the one Jesus has with us and not the one we have with Him
I almost posted this earlier, but then I saw a squirrel...

I have to question why this thread is in this forum. Would we, as single people, know a perfect relationship if we stubbed our collective toe on it?

Tell ya what, if I ever figure out what the perfect relationship is, I'll let you know. But by then it will be too late because we'll be married. :D

Because singles know better? That's why more and more of them don't want to get married. And more married people are now becoming single.

So the perfect relationship is the one that does not exist?

I agree that sometimes opposites can compliment each other's strengths and weaknesses. But I believe most times opposites just wind up arguing.

Very true, my sister and her partner are opposites and continually argue all the time. She really wishes they were more alike.
At first the differences were appealing but down the track they became irritations.

Think of it like Discerning the signs of the times:)

or could it be that there's no natural love left in the world? What I see is everyone faithful or not looking for answers... Sign of the times?

I think it really depends in the areas you are opposite in. Opposite values or philosophies of life or ideas of how the relationship should function will probably cause a lot more conflict than opposite hobbies or food preferences or the stuff that we're more willing to let people have personal taste in than consider absolutes with a right and wrong way to be.

So I can cope with someone who doesn't eat chocolate or pizza (more for me), but someone who thinks that eating meat is a sign of weak character and lack of concern for others is going to have a hard time watching me eat my bacon cheeseburgers and I imagine there will be arguments.

I personally think there’s no such thing as a perfect relationship. Every relationship has flaws just like every person does.

That is so sad... On a Christian blog site I expected all kinds of God-fearing Folk to tell all kinds of great stories about true love and commitment within a Christian based marriage. Hmmm....

Just shortly before my last ex was an ex, when things were going badly, I asked her a similar question.

When I asked her about her idea of a perfect relationship,
she screamed, "One that YOU aren't in!"

I was truly shocked.

I was heartbroken and shocked.

I didn't know what to say.

Finally I recomposed myself, looked her dead in the eye, and said,
"Well... YOU really shouldn't end a sentence in a preposition!"

That was when I first noticed retaliation wasn't my forte.

I think this is the reason why you'll find a great number of us who are hesitant, waiting, or possibly even learning to be content the way we are (single.)

We all want to find what we think is an ideal relationship, but we actually see so few examples in real life that it's hard to keep believing.

I can definitely relate to that... But I still hold out hope! Personally, being single sucks!
