No thanks, very much. I am a contentious woman and he is a bully. Two bullies is a recipe for domestic violence.

I suggested he chat up Mel, I hope that doesn’t step on your toes. We could have a smack down for the affections of Mel- the Cat v. the Cop.
I think Mel85 is Ugly's girl.
Lynx is catch for sure. I can't wait till y'all have redheaded kittens.

One thing I've been reminded of by reading this thread is that each of us brings our own experiences and biases into our posts. I do not exempt myself from that.

Some of us have gone through some difficult and even traumatic things and therefore we are afraid that others will experience the same things we did if they are not careful.

I stand by my post upthread, but by the same token, I don't have a problem with Lynx's posts.

I do wish sometimes that Ageofknowledge was still here.

I’m guilty of that. Lol.

My apologies @Stranger36147 , I think though most of us agree or advise to stay away from her if she’s married. It’s commonsense really. Don’t be “that guy”.

Depend on.
When u make friends dont play with your heart to him/her.
See he/her as friends, left behind the other thoughts that can destroy the friendship.
Make a commintment to your heart he/is Just "Friend" Nothing more.
Then you can enjoy your friendship without worry :)

I just looked. The only person who said he was talking to a married person is you. He said she is not single, I reckon that could mean anything. Unless a male and female are married, they're really just acquaintances.
I could have missed where he said she is married, but yours and Lynx flirting is distracting.
I'm not sure about the distraction but the flirting is high entertainment value. This thread is a fun venue but perhaps it will all work out in the end.

It may be a case of my old fashioned vocabulary. In my vocabulary “not single” only means married. Unless you are married, a person is single- regardless of relationship status.

Dating people are single, engaged people are single, widows, widowers, divorcees, old maids, are all single.

The only people who are not single, are therefore, married.

I think I need to find a forum where only people from the Victorian era post. I can not communicate with people in this era. Our vocabularies are too different.

I am not flirting with Lynx. He is a self righteous bully. I don’t like him in the least.
I agree, if you are not married you are single. I really don't see the significance in a significant other, a boy or girl friend, or being a fiancée. That stuff doesn't even register with me. There are two types of people in this world, you are either married or you are single. I am sorry for suggesting that you were flirting with Lynx even though I believe that he is flirting with you. I'm not sure if he is an avid reader like yourself but perhaps he at least has a library card.

No, I agree about the definition of single, but I know in this world of shacking up, the dictionary is falling apart.

I think you and Lynx make a cute couple. Good luck to the both of y'all.
My sentiments exactly.

Now I know why I am still single. I am oblivious to all the cues. I could have sworn her actions meant she hated my guts, not that she was in love with me...
I don't seriously believe that she hates your guts but rather she considers you to be a bully. I don't believe that is true either but that is her perception of you. She obviously has not seen your sensitive side. You also have romantic qualities too and that is a definite plus when considering any prospective relationship. She most likely is not in love with you but that doesn't mean that she is not searching for something that greatly appeals to her. Even if she hated you that is a good thing because hate could turn into love in an instant during what may seem like a trivial circumstance. I believe that she likes poetry if that's any help.

I thought she was your girl. I would slaughter Lynx for his skin and use it as a nice carpet for me to walk on when my feet are cold.

No, he was not flirting with me. I am an advocate of make up and he likes women au naturel.

I am not his type and he is not mine.
