I'm in the process of a serious progression in my career path. I pray that all goes well. I'm being given by God another chance of redemption.

I find it hard to go through my things that need work when I'm barely surrounded by other christians. I honestly don't know how to be a christian. How do you receive something by faith? How do you let God help you through something.

In my life I have met just a few who exemplify Christ. I'm not sure how to let God help me through something, usually am anxious, and at times skeptical. Faith is hope in the evidence that is unseen. To receive something by faith you must have hope that what you want to receive will come to pass. Glad to have you as a member in the community. Welcome to CC.

Welcome Storrm! That is a rough situation to be in. God will equip you for his service in one way or another though. I hope that it is through a mentor. Someone you can get close to and receive discipleship from. Is there a church you can attend? But also, through reading. Your Bible first and foremost, but you can read other helpful books as well. Just make sure the authors are solid Biblical teachers.

Also, we are here! Start a thread and ask any question you might have. We would love to help you. I would suggest doing it here in the Singles forum, so that the responses are a little more controlled.

A lot of what you are wondering about comes down to trust. Just trusting that God is going to complete his good work in you (as he promised in his Word, the Bible). Relaxing your hold on your life, letting go of your control over things (mentally, emotionally), and trusting that he's going to work everything out as it needs to be. It's hard to do, but believe me when I say that it makes a huge difference. The more you do it, the easier it gets, because we can look back and SEE that God is faithful and that he really does work every detail of our lives out in a way that honors him and helps us become more and more holy.

When you can't see a way out of a situation, just know that God can and He will help you get through it.

Pray and give Him the problem let it go and watch Him work. Rest in assurance that He will take care of you. He will... Believe me His timing is not our timing when it seems like the last minute and you still can't see the out He comes in and takes care of it.

It has happened to me more than once. Faith is when you know God will take care of you no matter what. It might not be the way you wanted things to go but when you look back at it you will see it was the best for you.

My grandma is leaving tomorrow. I will be taking her home on a 4 hour trip. I'm a little happy about this but also sad. I love her dearly but for those of you that know, she can be a handful and her negativity really gets to me.

I wish she could be more understanding or just happy. :(
We did have a good last week though and I hope she does better. If anyone has tips on how I can positively influence her, that would be appreciated. Even though she's leaving, I still call her once a week.

My last job transition did not work out but God provided me with seems to be a more suitable career opportunity and I will be starting next week. It has been rough this year but it now looks like I have turned a corner and will be progressing forward once again. My wife has been very loving and supportive during this whole ordeal.

Once again, I have resolved in my heart to quit smoking. This has been a terrible struggle for me and I have failed many times. Perhaps, with the help of God and the support of my wife this can finally happen. Only time will tell.

I feel bad because my family isn't Christian except for my cousins grandmother. I feel compelled to speak of God and Jesus Christ to them, but often times it falls on deaf ears and ignorance. I pray that one day they will be born again. To have eternal life with our Father who art in Heaven.

Have you tried the patch or the gum? I've heard from some who had quit that those can be very effective. It's been many years since i've known anyone who quit so maybe there is something new on the market too. Oh, I remember watching the testimony of a few who quit by switching to those electric cigarettes.

Talk to us, Yahweh.

Maybe we can help.

Or, at the very least, we'll keep listening.

Keep telling us what's going on.
Not necessary. It's just my midnight confession. Nothing to talk about.

Sometimes late at night when I cant sleep. I will sit on my front porch. Listneing to the wood creek in the rocking chair. Listen to the quiet. Then this slow weird feeling like something is watching me from the dark. Like mother Abigail in the movie "The Stand"....... Creeps me out.
