I need a hug.

I thought I would never admit that.

Not a side hug, or one of the awkward ones where one or both immediately start tapping out, but a real one.

I need the oxytocin right now.

Have you read any new books lately ?

Seen any movies ?

Heard any new songs you liked a lot ?

Have you tried any new places to eat that you liked?
I just read, "My Stroke of Insight" by Jill Bolte Taylor, Ph.D. and it was intriguing and inspirational. The author details her recovery of a massive stroke at age 37 and shares how it was a "blessing and revelation" because she found peace of mind.

I just watched the 2015 film, “Backtrack” the other day starring Adrien Brody. Wow, talk about twists & turns in the plot! It was an amazing flick, spooky and shocking, and had me on the edge of my seat all the way through to the end.

Haven’t heard any new songs that I like. If anyone could recommend some new music, I’d be grateful. Preferably alternative rock, new age jazz, R&B, ambient electro-rock, bluegrass/southern rock. Something along those lines.

There are several wonderful eateries downtown in my city that are unique and offer fine menu items. I went to Blue Dahlia Bistro not too very long ago and the waitress recommended coq au vin, which was sooo delicious! I also had their outstanding potato soup and fresh baked bread. Local artists’ paintings hang throughout the restaurant, which creates a light and cheery ambiance. The stone courtyard in the back captivated me with its colorful flowers and greenery. What a lovely experience!

Make a note somewhere and start it on over in November or December. No, people are stressing about Christmas money then... Try February or early March. If you get chocolate now it will be melted.
Another advantage living in Norway!

I think I might offer Tommy a hug... I just haven't decided which cheek to offer.

You said bluegrass/southern rock... not sure if bluegrass rock is a thing or you randomly put bluegrass and southern rock together. But.. if you meant bluegrass Check out Strictly Strings on YT. Two of the members are my cousins. They're good... i'm told. Not really my thing.
Outside of a bit of southern rock every genre you've hit are ones i am not a fan of, so no help outside of the recommendation I've already made.

*Lynx chuckles quietly to himself and reaches for his music collection...

"Alternative" fits a very wide and varied music spectrum, but try Nicole Nordeman.

Or Randy Stonehill.
https://youtu.be/vvAdpHXoEMU?t=41m58s

Sara Groves is unique enough to be alternative, and a pretty good singer. Also her songs always say something - they never seem like she just threw a song together to fill up an album.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HBFt6rwL80

Sarah Laughing is quirky enough to be "alternative" and a bit jazzy too. Look up a few of their tracks when you get to youtube.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rS9Tl64_tEE

Ginny Owens?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWUqdhjIsDI

Or Charlie Peacock. Yeah, that's his name. He must have been teased a lot as a kid.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIjRwFbYV_0
(It doesn't really pick up until about 1:36 or so.)

Take 6 would fit R&B. Well, some of their slower songs.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McK6bcaYbAk
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYTe6U1aVIY

Anointed is good for R&B:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7itrewhuUE

Appointed would be good for peppy bluegrass, but youtube doesn't have anything from them. In fact all the groups in my collection that would fit cannot be found on youtube. What gives?

Friday is when I start a 36 hour weekend.
Yes but Friday is also when something should arrive in the mail.

You might want to freeze the bulk of it when it gets there.

It's all the fruitcake people have sent me over the last twenty holiday seasons. I saved it all up and yesterday I sent it all to him in one big package. It should all still be perfectly edible, or at least as edible as it ever was. The shelf life of fruitcake is longer than the life of the shelf.

Nah, it's bread.
