Remember that everything you do will affect people around you. Choose wisely. You had to get up and go to work this morning because of something Adam and Eve chose to do many, many years ago.

How so? One of the first things God did was give Adam a job and responsibility..work was never meant to be toilsome and some of us like our work..helping others and providing for our families...thank you Jesus!

Doing good works (for the Lord) should be counted as blessings somethings we get to do. If someone feels the are punishment, well, then their doing something wrong.

Okay if you don't like my illustration, how about this one?

Nobody farts into a bubble of air that only he has to breathe. When one person farts everybody in the area has to deal with it.

I believe it is safe to say...anything we can fully understand isn't anything we'd worship.

Why in the world do you keep accusing me of being defensive? Here's what I would have said if I were being defensive:

So for all the millions of people who don't like their jobs, you are telling them that they are doing something wrong AND their hearts aren't in the right place? Really? Not everybody can be fortunate enough to have a job they love to do, you know. Some people have to do jobs they dislike. Can you find somebody who will say "Oh goody goody, I get to climb down a manhole into the sewer!" with a straight face?
That is what I would have said if I was being defensive. But I didn't. Stop assuming I'm offended and defensive and upset, or you might just cause the state you keep thinking exists.

Working for non-profit organizations I never got paid as much as sewer workers, trash collectors or bus drivers. I didn't regret going to work either. I live in a relatively free society and it was my choice where I went to work. Did I say 'I' enough?

This is awesome, Cali.

I truly admire people who love their jobs and work.

Unfortunately, most of my working career, I've been in situations that were not very conductive to worker health or satisfaction, and while the jobs themselves could have been enjoyable, impossible demands that kept rising made almost everyone at my places of employment rather miserable.

And there were few other alternatives, so everyone just kept working at jobs they didn't like in order to support their families.

I have to admit a little bit of envy for people who either land jobs they love or are able to enjoy whatever they do, and would prefer to keep on working at their jobs indefinitely.

Sadly, I can't say that I am one of them, and now thatI believe the window of having my own family has long past (for both personal and health reasons), my biggest dream is to someday cut back my working hours so that I can hopefully participate in the ministry and volunteer opportunities that usually conflict with my work schedule.

We're all built differently and have different dreams--I totally admire those who want to work the rest of their lives, but I've been dreaming of retirement (so I could do volunteer work instead) ever since I started working at 11! :D

Mind you I haven't got much for an American, not even a car but what I have I value immensely. A family that loves me, a home without worries of being short of heat air or food. Clean clothes. More than over 1/2 the world has. God has been good to me. I am thankful and patient.

We all have personal preferences. It's important not to let the insignificant things get it the way of the significant ones. True beauty comes from ones ability to love, and true love comes from God.
When we focus on what matters, everything else won't matter near as much as you would have thought it did

If you are used to fiber and free data, it is almost impossible to go down to a limited data package.... One day in and I used 454MB out of 16GB, and I didn't even make a videocall or watch a movie.

Singleness doesn't cause loneliness any more than being a mailman causes dog bites. (well it sounded kind of profound in my head, I don't remember what winding path of thought took me there though)
