But if you think about it Luke wasn't all that great either. Pretty much all he did was wail on Vader in ROTJ and it's not like he had anyone to train him after Yoda died. (Plus Yoda was all about the force originally). I'm thinking the art of lightsaber dueling was lost with Vader and Obi-Wan.
That's honestly not a bad argument. :) Thanks for that.

I thought it was great. Probably my third favorite SW film. People overrate how good the originals are(not that they aren't good). The back and forth between Finn and Han was great. A lot of questions to be answered about Rey, but I love her character. Finn briefly held off Kylo, and Rey "beat" him, because he had already been injured by Chewbacca, otherwise they probably don't have a chance. I think it sets everything up nicely and it should be interesting going forward.

That's what bugs me. All this retconned junk. Fans like continuity. If they want to rewrite a history they should make up their own stories. Retreads of stories that have already been told should be either added to or left alone, not torn down and redone.

Oh wait, sorry... nobody does new stories anymore. Just remakes of old ones. Never mind.

I just saw this last night, thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought it was farrrr better than the prequels. I like that chick who played Rey a lot more than I like Jennifer Lawrence man. She killed it in this. She was awesome.

You have to admit it is applicable. There is no gray Jedi, only light and the dark. Star Wars is heavily based on Western Christianity concepts, not on Middle Eastern yin and yang duality.
Ehhhh' I don't really think so. You could say that about anything that depicts good vs evil. But there's a huge difference between your typical revenge fantasy about hero and villain going back and forth as compared to Holy Scripture.

I saw it yesterday evening and though it was better than I expected it to be. I was glad to see most of the major roles back played by the original cast. I didn't detect any leftist agenda. Sorry for all the "I"s
