Sigh. Shudder. Shiver of Repulsion.

Mild rant here, of which I've stated many times before.

There is a couple at my parents church--the man is a white male in his mid-60's at least, and the young woman he brings to church and holds hands with is an Asian girl probably in her mid-20's. At first I thought they were like me... the older man being the father and the young woman being his daughter, just like I am with my Dad...

But alas. They seem to have no qualms about holding back PDA's. Displays like these are why people think I'm my father's mistress and my Grandpa's girlfriend... and why 75-year-old men (two more in the last week, adding to countless others) constantly flood my dating profiles.

I realize different things work for different people--God bless them all. But for me, when men that much older approach me as a possible dating/sex partner, it just makes me feel like the victim of a pedophile.

It wouldn't bother me if couples like this didn't turn women like me into an entire stereotype.
maybe if you dressed less modestly, you would attract a younger guy instead! :p
Alas, Cat... the young woman that this older man was with was wearing a low-cut sundress with skinny straps... You know, one of those articles of clothing that would set off about 800 raging, angry threads about women not being modest. And yes, this was at church.Yet another reason why I was hoping she was his daughter and not his love interest, but to no avail.

I myself was dressed in one of my favorite Spiderman t-shirts, jean shorts, and sneakers (it was church movie night.)

Seeing as the "dressing less modestly" plan doesn't seem to work (and still attracts men twice one's age), I'm going to need yet another back-up plan to THIS apparent back-up plan of yours, Mr. Brilliant! :D

I am going to a non-Christian concert in a few weeks with a non-Christian friend of mine and two of his friends (I don't know them). Not sure if that's a totally good idea, I mean I trust him, it's nothing to do with him, but I'll probably be considered a heathen by some. Right now I don't particularly care, which maybe says something about me, I dunno.

I'm super excited because I love this band, but I'm also kind of nervous because I've never been to a non-Christian concert. It's almost 3 hours away so it will be a late night.

Just wanna pray for the people who went through a 6.0 earthquake in Northern California Bay Area today, especially those of us from CC living in the affected area, that everything is settling down and may the peace of God fall upon you all, and let this be the time of coming together as one body in prayer.
Thanks Bro :)

Last night, around 4 AM, I was woken up by a knocking sound. It sounded like someone knocking on the front door, but with my fan on and being quite a bit aways from the front door, I thought maybe it was just in my dream and I "heard it" as I was waking up as if it was real life. It still made me lie still for a moment though. But then I heard it again, louder this time. This time, my eyes flew open, my heart pounded. I thought, "Shoot, I really need to get a baseball bat and keep it under my bed."

My roommate opened her bedroom door (her room is across from mine) and I sat up in bed. I thought she had heard it too and was going to go check it out. But then I didn't hear her check on it, and the knocking had stopped, and that's when I realized...

It was the stupid cats. She keeps her bedroom door closed at night, and my giant cat had been pawing under the door and pulling it, so it sounded like knocking. I tell you, I'm going to get murdered in my sleep or have the house get robbed without a care because I'm going to hear something and think, "Ugh, stupid cats" and take no action.

On one dating site I participate in, you can sending several pre-composed short messages.

The message most older men (age 63 today!!) choose to send me, is "I'm new at this, but couldn't help but ask, What's your name?"

I suppose it's probably some kind of Mortal Sin... but I always want to answer, "My name? 'JAIL BAIT'. Now go find someone your own freaking age." Then again, maybe it would be good if some of them would be locked up.

(Sorry. Compressed, vented anger leaking out!!!)

I got my cat back for what he did last night.

I was walking from one end of the house to the other to use the restroom. I saw Toby following me, so I ran a bit ahead, hid behind the door, and then jumped out and yelled "BOO!" at him. He whipped around and tried to run so fast that he just ran in place for a second, like in a cartoon, tail poofed and legs flailing, and then shot off. I had to hold onto the door frame to hold myself up from laughing so hard. I felt kind of bad because he's such a big sweetheart, not the brightest, but...revenge was mine.

Forget "The Horse Whisperer."

This awesome display of power will also come in very hand when your cat has the hiccups...

I've only been to non-Christian concerts and haven't ever had an issue. Each genre draws a different crowd though, so I guess it would depend on who you are going to see.

I"m on business travel, but still got to go to church today (I usually travel with non-Christians and I'm not on the rental car). =) Sang two songs that this past week have been incredibly comforting and uplifting to me. It's always amazing to see how God works; just showing us how much he cares for us even in the littlest things. :D

I legit wrote a song today. The lyrics starting pouring into my head while I was doing laundry. I haven't written in a while, so I didn't want to stifle the oncoming waterfall of words that I knew were begging to be put down, so I ran into my room and grabbed and notebook and flopped on my bed while I wrote.

Then I got out my guitar and figured out the chords to go with it.

I'm pretty proud of myself. I have song ideas and tune ideas, little snippets I record on my phone, but I've never actually gone start to finish and completed one. Boo-yah.

Ooh, what's the name of the band you're seeing in concert? Some people are going to call you 'heathen' no matter what you do. Aim to please God, listen to those who are looking out for you and ignore the haters.

I just wanted to say that even if I never see some of you again, I love you and thank you for everything.

I hope this isn't what I think it is, but that it's just you thanking people for supporting you. Dear sister, you have so much to live for. Christ is your light. Please, just get out of that toxic environment that you're in. We all love you, mate. :)
