Problem solved! Hurray!

Seriously relieved...I need a break.

In other news, I have an airplane parked on my head.

Man, an extra hour of sleep is all the world of difference. Can we do delayed start every day? This 7:45 business is for the birds; school needs to start at 9:45 all the time. Just move the end of the school day to 5:15. No worries for me, I already stay at work until 6 most days anyway...
Well, there are some scientific studies suggesting that our brains aren't fully functioning until around 10 am. It's been on my local news and I've googled it before. It's actually sort of interesting. Still not sure if it's actually true or not. The sad part is, even if it were true it wouldn't make many difference.

I didn't brush my hair this morning. I didn't style it at all. It is a wonderful mess ─ I have no shame.

Now I must call a customer to inform him he messed up his warranty for the second time ─ but, at least, we'll try to help him out.

I've just introduced my son to Looney Tunes. He's been watching for a few minutes, and he turned to ask me, with a super-serious face, "Which one of them is called Looney? The duck, or the rabbit?"

I tried to explain what "looney" means, and he thought it over, and then said "So that means we should call our house Looney House. And get a duck. Or a rabbit. Or a duck-rabbit! Can we get a duck-rabbit and make our house LOONIER?"

I told him yes.

second day home sick.

watching a documentary on how processed foods are killing us with cancers, diabetes, heart disease, etc. while eating processed cereal and breakfast sausages. The irony is not lost on me.

I am starting to feel the same way myself about processed foods. For the past few months I have been eating a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables. Unfortunately, I believe that it may be prohibitively expensive and time consuming to eat everything fresh and organic. Processed food keeps you alive but it has long-term health implications.

I try to avoid adding salt and sugar to my foods as that is an easy way to start eating healthier. I want to start drinking water too but to me that is boring and I prefer coffee. I also smoke but that is been cut way back from where I used to be. I haven't drank alcohol for years but I am wondering whether or not an occasional beverage would be beneficial. In my case, probably not.

About the only processed cereal I eat is Rice Krispies or Quaker Oats. Sometimes my wife sneaks in a few banana slices but I suppose that is a good thing.

I need to get healthier reading and applying God's word as I believe that is the most important thing that one can do for their health. The love that my wife has for me is vey healthy too and for that I am most grateful.

I stayed home from work today, wasn't feeling great. I wish I would have just sucked it up and gone because I feel better now.

In other news, I realized that my dog has separation anxiety issues. And I probably encouraged them and didn't realize it until now. In my defense, some of the things I did just had to be the way it was at the time. For example, my back yard is all fenced in except for ONE part. So, I finally got some makeshift fencing to totally enclose it so she could be in the back without me out there. But up until this time, I had taken her out to go potty, I had always been in the backyard with her even when she was off leash (I stood where it wasn't fenced in so she couldn't get out). And now, when I leave her out there and go back inside, when she realizes that I'm not there anymore, she will come to the gate and whine and bark. I just want her to sniff around the yard like a normal dog. But, I have created separation anxiety in her and now I must work on that.

I suppose I was particularly annoyed because I cut my finger and got dirty in assembling the fencing/gate, spent money on it, all for her to not even use the backyard as anticipated. I'm also annoyed at myself that I subconsciously created it in her.

You can't really blame yourself since it was unintentional, though. It's kind of hard to anticipate how certain actions or habits are going to affect a person's or an animal's subconscious. And hey, you probably solved a potential future problem for whoever lives there next by fixing the fence :)

No no... it's true. Some brains aren't even conscious until around 10am.

I am normal. The world is insane.

Some people do better first thing in the morning, others later in the day. My Mom is definitely NOT a morning person, it doesn't matter whether she gets out of bed at 5am or 8am one way or the other her brain isn't firing on all 8 until about 9.

Morning: "No. NO! I don't want to get up!"
Late morning: "Can't... stay... awake... need... caffeine..."
Early afternoon: "Hello world!"
Evening: "What? It's that late already?"
Lying in bed, trying to get to sleep: "My internal clock is set on Tokyo time."

Or for those who have jobs where they can set their own hours, it doesn't matter. When it doesn't matter, you can have some seriously weird sleep patterns.

(And by the way OnceFallen I realized you were wrong. Life according to Lynx is not life according to Calvin and Hobbes. Life according to Lynx = life according to xkcd. But really, it seems the guy has a comic about every topic.)

So (lap) a lot of my family is (lap) either on a diet or a diabetic. Given this, (lap) I texted my aunt (lap) "If I made chocolate pudding would anyone eat it?" (lap lap) She texted back, "Me!!" So (lap) I made a batch of homemade (lap) chocolate pudding - none of that (lap) instant junk, real pudding, and instead (lap) of cocoa powder I melted in some Schogetten dark chocolate. (lap) So now I'm lapping at a bowl of it and I'll probably be hyper for the rest of the night.
