I cried from fear last night. A fear I didn't even know I had. I wanted to get baptized, but I was afraid of the water...? What? I wonder if anyone else experienced this before. Probably someone, somewhere, in human history. Well, even if I'm the first, God is never caught off-guard or stumped. He can handle any fear. Hey, He didn't let the Israelites drown. I think I'm okay now.

I better not be getting sick, either. One person in my class came in while having the flu, apparently. Eventually during class she left. I'm not a health freak (much) or take my days off when truly needed, but jeez... If you're that sick, don't come in to let others get exposed. I can't afford to be sick.

Speaking of class, today went rather well despite that I hate the fact it involves presentations. Many people gave a speech on a topic of their choosing and some were really good with their points given and I was involved somewhat in the discussions. This is something big for me since I don't participate or talk to people much, but particularly I had small talks with the girl that sat next to me about related topics. Now I have a headache and am tired, so that's enough socializing for me. Wish I could go to sleep right now.

Now I have to have a topic that I will need to discuss by next week and am stuck between four that I can think of, probably narrowing down to two since they hit closer to me more. This should be... fun. And nerve wrecking.

We actually have this policy at our church too..............because we have so many elderly.....and an illness can be very dangerous for them. NOW...........before anyone gets all in a titther.......

We ask any who may have the flu, or some sort of bug........to let us know upon arriving.............and they are set apart.
If they request to be anointed and prayed over, we certainly will do that, for we are instructed to. And I believe, in so doing, God will protect us from any wee nasty bug that might sicken us.

However, to just walk in and mingle with the congregation and not inform anyone that they may be being exposed to something is dangerous.

Anyway.........God gave us good sense............sometimes I wish we would use the gifts He gave us, especially this one.

I just saw a comment on someone's Facebook status about one of the ingredients in anti-freeze is used in medicines we give to help people...wait, what? o_O Reasons why I don't take conventional medicine...the list keeps piling upon itself. I mean, I'm not the poster girl of health, I screw up on food choices all the time...but when did that ever sound like a good idea?? How is that medicine actually helping if it potentially contains something toxic?

...And this is why I will be majoring in nutritional science/pre-med. Hopefully I'll learn more about these things.

I would be careful about relying on that kind of reasoning, though. Using that same method of explanation I could say that I brushed my teeth using a common ingredient found in urine. The thing is, that ingredient is water haha.

It depends on what the ingredient is. Which is why I said potentially toxic. They didn't say what ingredient it was. Of course there's "normal" ingredients in things we shouldn't ingest. Shampoos have water listed as an ingredient. Does that mean water is toxic and I shouldn't drink it because it's also in shampoo that IS toxic (if ingested)? No.

But, there are things that are being put in conventional medicine that should have never been put in there (such as a certain birth control pill using conjugated estrogens isolated from mares' urine...).

Highs and lows...
The electric company is sending me a check for the deposit I had put on my apartment a year ago. Neat.
My daughter put a rubber ducky in the toilet and tried to flush it. Also neat- the bad part is that I've gotta teach her not to do fun things like that.

Yeah, I just think with medicine we have to be careful not to perpetuate untruths because that seems to happen a lot nowadays. It's best to know what exactly the ingredient is and why exactly it is harmful or potentially harmful before recommending avoiding it. Otherwise someone may avoid something that could actually help them on the basis of misinformation.

This is coming from someone who avoids pills as much as possible though. Pretty much the only thing I ever take is ibuprofen, and that's relatively rarely.

The medicine and the anti-freeze are not the same thing. Their names just sound similar. The medicine is polyethylene glycol (or PEG for short). The anti-freeze ingredient is ethylene glycol.

Now what if I told you citric acid is not only harmless but actually good for you? Citric acid is vitamin C. Plain acid is well, acid.

Okay, yeah. That person was obviously misinformed...one is way less toxic than the other.

I already knew what citric acid was. You see that everywhere. Though, depending on the SOURCE of it... no, no, no. Not getting into that.

Sometimes I'm not sure if it's God's blessing or a fluke...

I bought a car from a dealership some time ago that came with a trial subscription to Sirius Radio. The trial ended after about 3 months, and some time after that, the CD player conked out on me so I went to have it replaced (which was free because it was still under warranty) and it came with ANOTHER free Sirius Radio trial

That trial has never shut off, and it's been 14 months. Now here's where I'm not perfect--I should have checked up on it a lot sooner. I kept trying to tell myself it would just shut off automatically like the first... but the truth is, I've really been enjoying it and didn't want it to end. Sigh.

But my conscience finally got the best of me. I've called BOTH the dealership AND Sirius radio... The dealership said not to worry about and enjoy it while it last. Sirius kept telling me, "Our records say the account is inactive... You can have it turned on for a nominal fee and then choose your subscription plan..." and I'm like, "No, no, no, that's what I'm trying to tell you. I had a free trial and it's NEVER shut off and is still going... I want to make sure I'm not cheating anyone and that it's turned off if the trial has ended."

Well according to them, the trial doesn't even exist. And if it does, they said, it will shut off automatically. GOOD GRIEF!!! IF you combine the times of both free trials, I've had over a year and a half of free Sirius Radio service.

But at least my conscience is clear because I've done all I can do. *Sits back, turns up the "Hits of the 80's" and cruises.*

Actually, the MAIN ingredient used in antifreeze is used in medicines to help people. Not only that, but our children have access to this main ingredient used in anti-freeze everyday. I don't know why more people aren't concerned that the #1 ingredient used in anti-freeze is consumed daily by our pets and children.

Of course the #1 ingredient used in anti-freeze is water.
