So I had this awful woman calling me the other day and her intent was obviously to frame me into some shady business in Singapore or something. At first she was polite and all speaking a posh UK accent and went on about how much money I'd make if only I bought part of some business there...would cost me no more than $10,000...yeah, right...She must have gotten things mixed up somewhere...after saying I was not interested 5 times...she hung up on me LOL.

I get calls like that every day. Lately, it has been for 'charity'. Every time a caller asks for donation for charity, it's always about poor, homeless, orphaned and sick children. The first time I got a call for charity, I was genuinely concerned. I even thought of making a donation to the organization. Then when I googled the organization's name, I learnt that it was a scam run from some rural area. Later, when I searched the Government's database of charity organizations, it wasn't even there. So I figured that my money is better off in my pocket than feeding an unscrupulous stomach.

Nowadays I don't even entertain these calls. As harsh as it may sound, I simply say "I'm not interested in making any donation."

Go to youtube and look for Carl Hurley. He's a comedian, and he said these days he has fun with telemarketers.

CatHerder and I have the same birthday. The only way that that could be covered in even more awesome sauce is if Descyple were there with us.

I'm 42....so goes anyone remember those calls BEFORE caller ID? When someone would call and say " Pardon me is your refrigerator running?...Well a huh huh....you better go catch it!"
I am thankful for caller ID,....when I was a child...you couldn't avoid any horrible call.

Actually, mine was the 11th. The awesome sauce is slathered on anyone whose birthday falls during that entire week.

Hope yours was happy!

Phone number spoofing has all but rendered caller ID obsolete for screening calls. Recently scammers here have been spoofing the El Paso County Sheriff and Colorado Springs Police Dept phone numbers. They call and tell people that there is a warrant out for their arrest, or the arrest of a loved one (Facebook is a wonderful thing for scammers) and the warrant will be cancelled if they just pay the past due fine that the warrant is for (Why yes we can take your credit card over the phone).

when i was a secretary for a school, some telemarketer called saying "our files show that the warranty on your car is about to expire." i told her she called a school and to remove the number from their calling list.

SAME person called the following day saying the same thing, and so i said, "i don't own a car." and she was so confused afterwards lol never called again.

I am at a Village Inn at 9 am today... To eat pie.

Specifically to eat pie on March 14, 2015, at 9:27 in the morning.

It will never be more perfect again in my lifetime. *sniff*
(Because next year is 2016.)

Road trip to Nowhere, Wyoming! Yay.

It's actually a lot less of a Nowhere than where I live. And I've been up since 5 this morning. And now I'm sitting in my car in Mostly Nowhere, Wyoming, listening to someone else's music and waiting. There's nothing even interesting to look at. Well, no, the building in front of me is painted green and purple and yellow, and I'm parked next to the General Lee...ok, yeah, this is fairly interesting.

I think my coffee got cold, though...Yep. Dang. I wonder if I would end up lost if I took a walk? There's gotta be coffee available nearby.
