I didn't actually post this. I was fumbling with my phone. I meant to post the actual verse..

If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them.

It is 46 degrees here in Vermont today. Yay!! The ducks are happy, the ice on the river is breaking up and I can actually see grass!
Yesterday was in the low 50's, today it's hanging right around freezing and snowing, tomorrow will be back in the mid 50's. Colorado can never decide whether it's still Winter, or Spring this time of year.

Hi Siberian,

As someone else who works in customer service, I've thought about this as well. I was wondering though... What do you do when you know the person is doing something wrong? For instance, they're returning a product they didn't buy at your store but demanding your store give them the refund. Or, they purposely put a lower price tag on a product and insist on being given that price. Is it right to just smile and go along with it all, playing dumb and being the one to apologize, as many in customer service are forced to do?

I always wonder what Jesus would do if He were a customer service worker and was confronted with people who were flat-out stealing.

Granted, Jesus wouldn't have to worry about whether or not He kept His job.
Hey Kim!

Scenarios like those make for batting on a sticky wicket, no doubt. From my own experience, it's ideal to avoid using the word "you," or implying fault or trying to instill guilt in a customer. They can get more volatile when that's done. There have been people that requested to speak to my supervisor only to ask him to be transferred back to me shortly thereafter, and I think it's because he is prone to boomerang the fault.

So yeah, tact is key. The struggle is real! Someone today replied to me with a rather snarky "No because we are professional company LOL!!!!!!" (As if to say we weren't being professional). I wanted to respond with "Hardly," but didn't. They apologized a couple of hours later.

I feel it takes wit to fight a customer, but it takes integrity to subdue them.

I had an interesting introduction to work this morning as I was met with a dozen emails that simply demanded we refund a product for somebody. A friend told me after the matter that we're sometimes given opportunities/difficult people to respond how Christ would respond, not to throw it back. What a concept! Despite handling it peaceably for the sake of being professional, I wasn't esteeming exercising grace under pressure to the Lord (all the while the reality was that I was conjuring a handful of smart alec replies. No Siberian! That's a bad Khatru.)

sometimes, patients swear up and down i said something i KNOW i didn't say. for example, time/day of their appointment, how their insurance works, costs, etc. or they'll claim the doctor said something and i know he didn't. sometimes, i just want to tell them to their face, "why you be lying?!!!!" but... i don't. sigh.
I used to work in customer service too. In the case of a customer who wants you to break policy, what I do is apologize to the customer and also tell them that I understand their frustration and that I wish there was more I could do for them but my hands are tied. They usually calm down and ask for a manager. But you must show sincere empathy otherwise it might sound like you're just trying to get rid of them. The managers I worked with were better at dealing with them than me. The most important thing is to show empathy. Address them by name if you can too (Ms. ____ or Mr. ____). Once they realize that you care about what they're goin through, they calm down and become open to what you're saying. Above all, don't let them get you upset. If you get smart or rude it could be your job.. (but you already knew that)

Ugh what a week........
Dodging a lot of verbal bullets this week, indeed fun.
A girl at work today (That normally goes off on me) yelled at me at work along the lines that I wasn't doing my job right, when she was the problem. So, me being the way that I am and hating that crap all while hating the hypocricy that lies within that whole mess to begin with, crumpeled up the ticket and put it on her tray and blurted out jibberish to her.
lol
So that showed her.
I don't get people these days!
What makes you EVEN THINK, that its ok to BE like that?

I just don't know how to deal with people like that and I need to put them in their place, but.....it begins when you begin. The constant, crazy people cycle. Once you try to tame the crazy, the crazy find you. And when it finds you the only thing that's going to stop them is a hurricane or a police officer....and sometimes they get away because their mouths run them to an escape route. And when they get the escape route it's been a couple of years and they already found a way to change their name, address, telephone number, and they grew a three foot long beard. So for women, you won't be able to tell you would assume that they came out of a circus. But for a man, you could say that they came from a far off country and they were missing for a couple of years now so it's no news to you..

Also, locked my keys in my car again today.
Why are people so weirded out when that happens?
People always go through these dramatic equations as to why it happened, when IT'S NORMAL TO LOCK YOUR KEYS INSIDE OF YOUR CAR.

I'm going to go live on the moon.

Hahahhaha, they would be so confused if I said that
And then realize how much of a nerd I really am lol[

But needless to say, I am going to kick someone's butt tomorrow.
It's going to make them reevaluate all of the avenue of their life choices that they messed up with,
They'll be like "Oh yeah, I remember that little baby with the lollipop that I stole from.... I really regret that now."
And then bruises galore. XD

K..........I don't often get "blonded out," but tonight I was talking to someone, and they said to me:

"You are too smart by half........"

???

Whaaaa? I kinda tilted my head to one side and just gave them that dazed stare that golden retrievers have when you talk to them.

"You are too smart by half........" ???

Maybe they meant that you are smarter than them by half a brain? which puzzles me because I wonder how they deduced that you were smarter by half a brain. And what are you supposed to do if you were smarter than them by half a brain? Are you supposed to give them a quarter of your brain so that it evens out? what if the next person you meet is smarter than you by half a brain? Would you be left to regret the quarter brain you gave the person before? Or would this person give you a quarter brain? Will this lead to an equilibrium of intelligence levels across the world's population?

It is all very complicated. I suggest that we don't pay attention to what that person said...

That's two people now, that have told me that the baby isn't showing enough to really be noticed, or that I'm tiny and it was a shock to find out that I was pregnant.
Come on people! Its not normal for me to have a big round thing poking out of my middle! Under normal circumstances, I'm really skinny. You can't tell me honestly that I'm not showing, or that you didn't know that I'm pregnant.
I'm not fat, I promise.
