number 10k was her saying "darn, 30 second posting rule". That was originally post 10,002 or 3 You have 5 minutes to delete a post after you post it. That dilutes the actual number unfortunately :(

and Gracie is cool, but her tears are savory. And yes, I have read a lot of twilight. Im hoping her tears can prevent me from sparkling in the daytime
I'm still confused as to how you won. :confused: LOL But it's all good, don't worry about it. You will 'win' again. ;)

Also, where is Shiney tonight? She was going to come up with a CC movie day. :)

To those confused and unaware, Angie and Ryan have this ongoing contest to snag milestone posts in this thread. It consumes them to some extent. Currently, we are nearing post 40,000 in Streams.

But I invite anyone else to join the fray, just to make the both of them work for it. *smirk*

Have at it, guys.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo..... dang it Shour! Do you know what you have done?!

And the cookie bet is directly between me and Grace. So if you arent on team donkey or team grace (only two allowed for each team) then how are you gonna get any cookies?
TEAM GRACE people! Team Grace!

I'll be honest and say that Donkey really was impressive at the last mile marker. He had been silent for weeks, and then right around that time, he kind of silently just poked his nose in and started making random posts in Streams. Of course, I was doing the same thing, so I was not at all fooled. No one mentioned the mile marker because we actually really did want to win it. *stares in Shour's direction with condemnation* Donkey WON the actual post, but because we'd all been posting like mad, there were multiple posts within the 5 minute edit time still, so we started deleting posts like crazy trying to influence who actually ended up with the 30K spot. It backfired because there were unknowns playing *stares at Gypsy and Lil with grudging admiration*. Had no one cheated, Donkey would have had it. As it was, no cookies exchanged hands.

We have to bug Katie, she does the planning! They prolly won't enjoy Anime as much as we do though. Lol.
I've been summoned via Skype, via visitor messages, and via threads. Jeez. Have no fear, ladies and gents, I am here. Shiney will save the day.

Fine. I'll come ;) What day are we planning? :p Did I see Saturday evening?

Pan's Labyrinth is the most unforgettable adult fairy tale you'll ever see.

But it is hauntingly beautiful in its own way.

You'll never "look" at these kinds of stories the same way again.

(Mel, be sure to tell us what you think.)
I LOVE Guillermo del Toro visuals... it's just awesome... all his movies have this quite different and a little out there look to them... and it's awesome... it really is this kind of adult gothic faery story...

I seriously admire all of you out there who cook on a regular basis. I rarely feel like putting much time or effort into things that get devoured in 15 minutes, but for some reason, I've been on a bit of a spree. Between last night and today I've put in about 8 hours and now have enough food to last 2 weeks:

* Mashed garlic cauliflower (instead of mashed potatoes.)
* Cauliflower mac'n'cheese
* Dark chocolate pumpkin custard
* Pumpkin soup
* Porcupine meatballs
* Zucchini "spaghetti"
* "Ice cream" made out of bananas

As a side note, I am developing a BAD raisin habit. Peanut butter and raisins, chocolate-covered raisins, oatmeal with raisins, rum extract-soaked raisins for the "ice cream"... I keep snacking on them right out of the (big) box I just got yesterday, and they're almost gone.

*sigh* I may need an intervention.

I see where you guys are uncomfortable but I have something else. I am a bookworm and I love all these teenage romance novels like The Fault In Our Stars or Looking For Alaska and something I have come across in every single book I have ever read is sex. I love all these big name books that are really popular but I haven't come across one book where they didn't have sex until after marriage. Sex is something you work your way up to. When you just do it, there is nothing to work up to. Plus you don't know if that relationship is going to last, so you just handed yourself to someone who can just easily walk away.

Well, since you're 'Raisin' the subject, har-har, I soak my raisins in dark imported rum when I make sticky buns. (shh, it's a secret, don't tell anybody) I've always been a fan of rum-raisin ice cream. Never had homemade, would love to try yours.
And it's so cool you make porcupine balls. It's been a tradition in my family for generations. Never knew any body else that made them. I thought it was a german or pennsylvania dutch thing, but what do I know. Soooo, are you now gearing up to do the thanksgiving turkey? I'll give you a tip on stuffing if you share your ice cream. Lol.:)

Oh man, I made a Thanksgiving Dinner ONE year, and only for like 8 people, and I told myself NEVER AGAIN. It was SO much work, I made a chart and 3-day schedule of how and when to cook everything, and it was gone in less than half an hour.

I'm only using rum extract because I didn't want to buy a whole bottle of rum (wouldn't have anything to do with the rest of it.) I kept reading about how you can take super ripe bananas, mash them up, freeze them, and voila... ice cream substitute. I was skeptical because I hate ripe bananas (I only like them when their yellow with a tinge of green), but I actually tried this and it was fantastic. I added vanilla and almond extract last time, so this time I'm also going to add in these "faux rum" raisins.

That's funny... any regular family gathering we have joins a crowd of approximately 20-25 people... and we are so used to doing it that we just buy groceries in advance, and cook in the day of the party... all you gotta do is get everyone to help... and all goes smooth...

Everybody eats and usually everybody takes some home... :) It's family!! You gotta do your part!!

Team work is the key!! :D
