Sooo...

I claim to work out.

I even dabble in lifting weights.

And I just had a major fight with an apple wedger... And the doggone wedger almost won (my apple just sat there, totally un-wedged.)

This. Is. Embarrassing.

I have no frame of reference, but my condolences.

I take on people's burdens when I shouldn't. It's especially difficult when they're good friends. I'm very unsettled right now.

I've heard of an apple peeler and an apple corer, but not an apple wedger.... Wouldn't that just be a knife?

I know what that is like. It's so hard to not get sucked into trying to give advice or "fix" a person or their problems. Often times, we don't have the full story or the person isn't ready to tackle their issues. I've made this mistake so many times :( Its difficult, but I've had to hold back at times and let the person resolve their own problems.

Just use a knife like normal people. An apple wedger is a time sink. You lose more time cleaning it than you ever would have saved. And that's IF it works perfectly and doesn't leave any of the core in the slices.

I have a question, you guys. I have a new friend. We watched Sherlock. And I got annoyed because while we're watching, she kept texting her other friends. Sometimes we had to pause the show while she talks to her friends on the phone. We've been watching shows for two nights, and she's like always on the phone... I don't know if I'm just being possessive because I feel like her 'other' friends are way too clingy. But then, am I being clingy too?!

If she texts during the show, no biggie. If she has to pause it all the time to text... I would tell my friend either miss part of the show or let the texts wait until after.

She texts during the show, she pauses it to call her other friends. The thing is, I've seen the show like so many times. I was letting her watch it because it's nice and she said she wanted to see it too. But I felt like I was just wasting my time -_-

I think I would have to tell her that it's obvious she's in a serious relationship--with her phone--and just doesn't have room in her life for anyone else right now.

Of course, this would about 99.9% of the phone-carrying population right now.

People tease me because I'm still in the Dark Ages (no Facebook, no smart phone), but I still have no need for these things and plan to go on that way for as long as I can.

Part of the reason is because I want to try to actually pay attention to other people.

I would understand if it is a call from work or something important. Next time she does it, you can simply let it play and later pretend that you forgot to pause it. She'll get the message.. :p

LOL yeah, looks like I have competition and have no chance of winning. Yeah, that's one of my pet peeves. When I watch a show/movie with family or with close friends, we make it a habit to not use our phones, unless it's an emergency call, until the show is over. I'm finding the younger generation doing this a lot and it's really, really annoying.

There was this one time, my younger co-worker (she's 21) and I decided to watch a movie. Throughout the entire movie, she was just texting, occasionally glancing at the screen. Why she even bothered, I have no idea. She's obviously watching a better movie on her phone. After, she kept asking me about the dude that died and I'm like, "ugh go watch the movie again."

I stopped it. xD I told her to watch it alone cause I wanted to study. She kinda got hurt but ain't nobody's got time for that.
