I think this thread and the heart behind it is awesome. I hate that women are constantly having the message communicated to them that they are not enough. Not skinny enough, pretty enough, smart enough, hard-working enough, etc. To every woman here, there is so much inherent beauty in you because you are a woman and because you were created by God. You really are precious, and you really are enough.
With that said--and I think I've posted this before--I think it's good to also be careful about hounding women for wearing makeup because they don't need it to look beautiful. While there may be some women who think that they are only beautiful with makeup on, I think a lot of women wear it simply to enhance their beauty or facial features, and that is completely okay. There is nothing wrong with a woman wanting to look and feel beautiful and doing hygienic things to feel more beautiful than she may potentially without it. That doesn't necessarily mean she thinks that she's ugly without it, but that it simply enhances the beauty God has given her. So I just try to be balanced in the way that I think about it.
I think I said this in another thread too, but I am trying to avoid Hollywood and advertising photos now, not because those women are somehow more beautiful than the ones I know, but because many of the pictures have been altered significantly to enhance the features of the woman in the picture and are downright fake. I would rather not have what I consider to be beautiful to be shaped by pictures that are unreal (in the most literal sense of the word). Plus, with pictures you only get a still, physical representation of a person and you get nothing about their soul or who they are as a person, and I don't want my standards of beauty to be limited to the physical realm either.
