Stealing Descyple's comment, instead of pretending I have a date on Valentine's Day, how about someone ask me out and we meet on CC for a Valentine's CC Party. We can even go into one of the empty CC forums and discuss our lack of a "real" date and how much fun we are having.
Descyple, be a gent!!
Arwen although whenever women on CC suggest that someone ask them out, it is usually a hidden request directed towards me, however are you sure Chrissy is referring to me in her post?

Besides, if Chrissy and I were in a chat room alone without your adult supervision, there is no telling what we (and by "we" I mean "her") might do!!!

There's a gent in there somewhere under all that wit and ego, I KNOW IT!
Well, I hope you brought a really big shovel.
Chrissy, Arwen is a very keen observer of the underlying sweetness and overall noble character that exists within me!!!

(but just in case Arwen, you do own a shovel right???).

You know your single on Valentine's Day when.. you've already bought yourself a valentine's gift and made plans with all your other single friends so you can sit around and talk about the pros and cons of... being single :)

You know you are single if on Valentine's Day...you stay home watching romantic comedies by yourself, because you have nothing better to do. Which is probably what I'll do when V-day comes along.

Not sure who they polled on this, but I just heard on the way home that 24% of men said it would bother them to be alone on Valentine's Day. Only 16% of women were bothered by this.

Interesting, though it would be nice to know if this poll is objective quantitative research. I wonder what the reasons would be if the poll is valid... any hypotheses anyone?

My hypotheses is that though we put men in the you-have-no-emotions-you-caveman-you it simply isn't true. Men crave love, adoration, respect, and attention just like women. The 16% of women not minding if they don't have a beau is probably because they've grown accustomed to not having someone. Or perhaps some of them truly don't mind not having someone. However, 98% of people will join in some sort of coupling over the course of their lives. We crave people to some extent. We need that sounding board, comfort, cuddle, or companionship. Those who don't need people are rare.

Yes to that^^^.

Also, I wish they would make Valentines day a national holiday so I would get work off. That is my only request.

I totally agree with Aimee. Look at some of the world's greatest music and poetry to see how loving, tender and affectionate men are capable of being. I think of the writings of Solomon, John, King David and Paul and am amazed at how much these mighty men of God understood about love. I suppose that's what led them to be mighty men of God in the first place, huh? :) Oops...I got serious in a humor thread. Sowwy! :D

I'm working on Valentines and I don't care. My boyfriend is 1600 miles away so I'll be alone anyway. I'm glad because I have work to distract me from being alone and missing him.

Hahaha... If I have to ask a man out, then I don't want a date.

Descyple, you and I both know that if we were left unattended we would wreak havoc.

For my sake Arwen, I sure hope so - lol.
Just to clarify for myself, I am "supposedly" telling Descyple he needs to ask
me out for Valentines Day(which he has failed to do btw) per Arwen.
Descyple is asking how she knows this. Arwen says she is perceptive.
Then Descyple says for his sake he hopes so.

Based upon that either I won or I majorly lost. I am confused on which it is. lol

FYI, you people are so lucky I don't speak my mind here on CC as I do in "real"
life or else I would be more confrontational, lol.(I know hard to imagine)

Yep. Pretty much.
Yeah I am still confused.lol

So from his last comment he could have meant one of two things. Either he hopes you know he is perceptive, because it all is a bunch of bull and he doesn't want you thinking it is truth or..... the flip side to this which is a positive. lol

See I don't know nothing.

You know what? I am done playing guessing games with men. I think I should just walk up to the next man I am interested in and say, "Hey, you are taking me out!"

I won't take a jab at you, Zero, no matter what you say.

But... if any of this mess was meant to be serious it wouldn't be posted in an open forum.
