As much as I would love to be sleeping, I'm not. I am a night person, probably always will be. There's something peaceful about sitting alone in the peace of the night. My days are so hectic. Nighttime is a time of restoration. Looking out at the moon and stars I know that my God doesn't sleep. He is watching. Soon enough I will sleep. :)

I dunno if anyone remembers the forum about weird food preferences, and when I posted that anything I think will taste good in coffee WILL be dipped in coffee?

Just an FYI...Oreos (granted they were gluten-free. But they taste very similar) taste REALLY good dipped in coffee. lol

Sometimes I think that if I hadn't had kids or gotten married, I would have gone to school to become an interior decorator (do they even call it that anymore? Interior design artist or something nowadays, isn't it? I don't actually care....). Not that I would RATHER be doing that. It sounds like too much school time for what it actually is, and based on my previous school experience, just...no.

But I'm constantly redecorating in my head. My house, my mom's house (I so wish I could convince her to knock out a certain wall and make it a big archway or half-wall with columns...but will she listen? Noooo...she's all "Chill, Cristen, this is not your house...." Pssh. Whatevs.).

Right now, for instance, I'm staring at my kitchen (well, I'm typing, but my eyes keep wandering back to the kitchen) and I kinda really want to bust it up and make it better. Rearrange appliances and counters, get rid of WHITE ENAMEL PAINT, fix several cupboard doors so that they will actually stay shut once more, make a backsplash out of pennies and purple glass tiles...

Yeah, I'm just torturing myself here.

Its kind of important that you don't get interior decorators and interior designers mixed up. I used to go to school with interior designers and they would get very put-off if you mistakenly referred to them as interior decorators. They are more like architects because they plan the layout of a building's interior to make it more efficient and people-friendly and they require more education than interior decorators who basically just make rooms look good. :)

Thanks for the prayers everyone. :) I'm safe, but I didn't sleep well last night. >.< But that's normal for me most of the time when it comes to thunderstorms.

I think I've finally lost weight this week. I was at 195 on Saturday, the last time I stepped on the scale it said 193. I'm not sure how much more exercise I could reasonably do without rendering myself too tired to do anything else for the rest of the day.

When it comes to how I'm REALLY doing, I can be the worst liar and the greatest hypocrite.

This may or may not make sense to someone or anyone. But I guess where I'm coming from with that is, I typically don't always tell the truth about how I really feel at times, and can put on a good show to go with the lie. So I'm the worst at lying meaning it's something that I can do consistently. That's bad.

but I don't always want people to know how I'm doing because then people ask questions...

Are there any other minimalists out there? I am a minimalist, which means I make it a point to only include in my life things that I feel are necessary or fun. Two of the most obvious results of living a minimalist life style are what I have in terms of physical possessions, and how I spend my time.

In terms of material possessions, I don't really have much. And I'm happy with that. I have a preference for pragmatism and form over function. My bedroom walls are bare. When I pack to move into my dorm, you can fit the stuff I take into the trunk of a car. That includes my clothes. I don't have much, but just about everything I do have serves a function of some kind. My clothes are also rather plain, but it does what it needs to do. I don't have a closet full of clothes, just enough to last me about a week or so. Since I do my laundry weekly, this works out just fine for me.

In terms of how I spend my time, I try to control my time expenditure on stuff that either is important to me, or fun. I don't pay attention to the news because the stuff's beyond my comprehension and irrelevant to my life. I read up on web programming stuff because that is important to me. There's actually not much variety or flair in what I do, but I prefer it this way. In the long run, I find it works out better.
