Physically alive? No, he was dead and buried.
But we are not talking about this, or are we??

You never did answer me.

how can a demon know the future?
How can a demon know God left someone?
Why would a demon do something so foolish as to help a person who is doing what satan wants him to do (like saul was) stop doing that and listen to God?

why did you ignore those questions? (as if I had to ask!)
I have every intention of answering ALL your questions.

So,, are we in agreement that Saul rejected God, rejected His advice, did not repent, and fell on his own sword and died?

So,, are we in agreement that Saul rejected God, rejected His advice, did not repent, and fell on his own sword and died?

Is this not what the scripture says?

1 sam 31:
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Then said Saul unto his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And when his armourbearer saw that Saul was dead, he fell likewise upon his sword, and died with him.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]So Saul died, and his three sons, and his armourbearer, and all his men, that same day together.

Now question to you.

Are we in agreement, that Samuel told Saul this very thing would happen? and this prophesy was fulfilled? or do we want to believe a demon prophesied this??

[SUP]16 [/SUP]Then said Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the Lord is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy?

[SUP]17 [/SUP]And the Lord hath done to him, as he spake by me: for the Lord hath rent the kingdom out of thine hand, and given it to thy neighbour, even to David:

[SUP]18 [/SUP]Because thou obeyedst not the voice of the Lord, nor executedst his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore hath the Lord done this thing unto thee this day.

[SUP]19 [/SUP]Moreover the Lord will also deliver Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines: and to morrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: the Lord also shall deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.

Do you know what fortune tellers do? They predict future events.

Now it happened, as we in to prayer, that a certain slave girl posessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune telling.

This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out saying "These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of Salvation." And this she did for many days. Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, 'I command you in the nae of Jesus Christ to come out of her,' and he came out of her that very hour.

But when her masters saw that their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas, and dragged them into the market place to the authorities.'

Here we see,, that demons can predict future events. They also tell the truth at times.

You obviously believe that the dead "spirits" are alive somewhere. Where do you suppose Samuel was when the witch summoned him.. I understand you think it was God that did it,, okay,,,but my question remains,, where was Samuel while the witch was summoning him? Where did God keep his ...as you say "spirit"?

I do not know why people keep ignoring questions, then get mad when we do not see it their way. Seems to be a common occurrence.
People get tired of answering questions several times over and then having the person who asks it, ask again hoping the result will be different. Einstein called that the classic case of insanity.

Accurately? I thought only God could do this. Is this not what scripture says?

How could she know those things?

And you never answered why she was angry at saul, because she actually saw something coming out of the earth..

Did not jesus said a house divided can not stand.

so again I ask, why would a demon play into Gods hands and not help himself?

ps. Spirits can not tell the future, They can see some things, and make it appear they know. But ONLY GOD can accurately predict the future, that is what makes him God and separates him from all false gods.

no demone could have predicted saul would die. THIS HAD TO BE FROM GOD.

lol.. Well, when are you going to answer?

You do not answer someone by spouting off scripture which has NOTHING to do with the question asked, Do I do ntis to you> NO! I actually take point to point what you have said and comment on it.

A HUGE difference!

to add. Saying you have answered many times over, but still ignoring the actual question asked is called running from the problem. It shows people you have no answer. thus why you run away, or try to beat around the biush, but NEVER get to the actual question.

Okay,, I hear you,, now where was Samuel when the witch summoned him. You can call it a "spirit" or whatever you want,, but it's been named as Samuel. Now,, for the umpteeth time,, where was this samuel "spirit" that has life unto itself at when the witch was summoning it? Can you give me it's location? You know, where the rest of them "spirits", like Samuel are at.

It's not that hard of a question. I don't know why you are ducking it. Either you know or you don't.

1. You assume the witch summoned the spirit, and God did not send the spirit to show a lesson, to saul and us. (it most likely affected the witch to, we are not told)
2. as for its name, It was called samuel, even the writter called it samuel, and since it is inspired by God. God said it was samuel. there is a reason for this.
3. where did it come from? Paradise. the resting place of those awaiting the ressurection. where the thief on the cross went the moment he died :today you will be with me in paradise"

Well,, finally you answer.... So,,, Samuel was in Paradise,, the same place you claim the theif went....

The result of Saul's visit to the Witch of Endor was not repentance nor confession of sin. It was despair, discouragement and death!

And the scripture has Samuel saying this: "And tomorrow you and your sons will be with me." lololololol

Seriously?????? Are you going to sit here and tell this whole forum that Saul is with Samuel in Paradise awaiting his Crown Of Righteousness???????

First off,, I don't believe that Samuel is in paradise, nor the theif, they are both dead, and buried. But,, for the sake of argument,, let's suppose they are in Paradise. Samuel says Saul is an enemy of God!!!! "So why do you ask me, seeing the Lord has departed from you and has become your enemy."

And you sit here and decide Saul gets Salavation and sits with Samuel in Paradise awaiting eternity? Please, Please, Please reconsider your position!!!

I know exactly where Samuel was. He was in Sheol. We know from Jesus that Sheol was divided into two compartments. One called Abraham's Bosom, a place of rest and the other is hell, a place of torment and despair. Samuel was in Abraham's Bosom. From this place he could see into hell. Just as the story of Lazarus the beggar and the rich man, they could see each other and even communicate back and forth.

So when Samuel said ""And tomorrow you and your sons will be with me." he was telling the truth. So Michael50, you again think you are right and mock others like a sophmore, but your argument falls flat as a pancake....again.

1 Samuel 12: 12 And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spoke to Saul, saying, Why have you deceived me? for you are Saul. 13 And the king said to her, Be not afraid: for what saw you?And the woman said to Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth.14And he said to her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man comes up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself.…

The writer did NOT say it was Samuel, the writer said the witch of Endor said she saw gods ascending out of the earth, and then, an old man comes up; and he is covered with a mantle... and then, it says that Saul PERCEIVED that it was Samuel. Saul interpreted what this woman saw to be Samuel, who came up out of the earth.

His argument is perfectly valid. Plus the fact that he's not mocking anyone. All the excellent points made are entirely ignored and then you assert your opinion based on your opinion while making that accusation.

You base all your reasoning on what has been shown to be a parable and ignore entirely every other scripture that proves your theory entirely invalid.

You skipped part of it.

[SUP]15 [/SUP]Now Samuel said to Saul, “Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?
And Saul answered, “I am deeply distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God has departed from me and does not answer me anymore, neither by prophets nor by dreams. Therefore I have called you, that you may reveal to me what I should do.”
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Then Samuel said: “So why do you ask me, seeing the Lord has departed from you and has become your enemy? [SUP]17 [/SUP]And the Lord has done for Himself[SUP][b][/SUP] as He spoke by me. For the Lord has torn the kingdom out of your hand and given it to your neighbor, David. [SUP]18 [/SUP]Because you did not obey the voice of the Lord nor execute His fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore the Lord has done this thing to you this day. [SUP]19 [/SUP]Moreover the Lord will also deliver Israel with you into the hand of the Philistines. And tomorrow you and your sons will be with me. The Lord will also deliver the army of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.”

So who is samuel? That spoke? did not the writer convey that this WAS SAMUEL? and not just some spirit??

And why did he say tomorrow you and your son will be with me (dead)

and who did the lord speak through that God has taken the kingdom from saul and given it to david. and everything else that came true? was it samuel or some demon?

Because he said those things that makes him Samuel? Him saying this doesn't prove he's Samuel. I quoted those verses. These don't have anything to do with whether or not this is Samuel, and that's why I didn't quote them. They came after the others I quoted. The point was, which you obviously missed entirely, is that woman didn't recognize this person as Samuel, and Saul never saw this person.

Satan speaks in half lies and half truths.

lol.. I will take God at his word. NOT question why he does things, like you are doing, And believe what God says.

You have demons doing the work of God and making prophesy which comes true literally to the point. As scripture says, Only God can do this,, he does it through his prophets. NOT DEMONS.. ha ha ha ha ha ha Laughs on you

You worship satan if you wish.. I will worship my Lord and believe what he says.

Nope. not ignored. Just taken at face value, and shown to be in error.
