First of all Cobus I'm not going to allow you to turn this into a big debate. You should not have to redefine what you say to this extent. Say it correctly the first time.
So if HE gives you a untattooed Body to live with him, why colour this one in with ink?
I don't really know what the celestial body will be like, I can only speculate. Second, I personally wouldn't get a tattoo so I don't see a reason to "color my body in ink." However people aren't without their reasons. Can you provide some New Testament scripture that talks about this perhaps?
So your three points... I imply NOTHING
No I'm pretty sure you did. There is no need to pretend. It's here for all to see.
It is NOT excluded that it might be a tattoo. That is why I leave the possibility open that the mark might be tattoed on.
Come on man really? Getting a happy face tattooed on your cheek is a far cry from the mark of the beast. This discussion isn't about the mark of the beast nor does it have any baring on it. This discussion pertains to a personal choice to get some form of artwork placed on the body for aesthetic purposes. Obviously if someone starts a post talking about Obama, (or whoever the pop Christian world has deemed to be the Antichrist today), imposing some kind of tattoo or micro chip to govern buying and selling then fine, mark of the beast discussion time. There was no need to inject "mark of the beast" into this discussion when you know as well as I do the persons question had NOTHING to do with the mark of the beast. You were not addressing some 6 year old who can barley read let alone who would be browsing this forum for theological answers.
Where in the Bible does it say one CANNOT repent from a tattoo.. so you miss the pot on that one as well.
I don't know Coubus where in the bible does it say that? You were the one who implied that this was so in your Original post. I miss the pot on wha??? What are you talking about. (don't answer that.)
I will not say something that is not in the Bible. I did once, a few hours ago and I suppose that gun will be held against my head forever.
It happens to the best of us. And yes that gun will be held to your head and my head for as long as our words remain in these forums. New people will be in here constantly and see everything you have written as I am doing now. So lets try to keep that in mind before posting our opinions without scripture to back it up. Let's also be selective in what we talk about. Avoiding trivial issues such as tattooing as being some kind of mark of the beast salvation issue.
Some tattoos really say some AWEFULL stuff... That was what I meant...
Indeed. Some are tasteful though. So what does the N.T. say about this type of thing? How can we get to the bottom of it? It would be EASY to do the whole O.T. rule throwing thing and just paste the scripture that says don't do it. But that is not a real good way to go about it for obvious reasons I'm sure you already know.
God said nothing that goes into your mouth makes you impure, but what goes out... Imagine having a tattoo that says.... Satan is my LORD! WOW!
Cobus if you are afraid your Christian brothers and sisters are going to get "I love you Satan" tattoos you can rest assured. They aren't Christians LOL. What have you to do with them?
Losin blood is losing the soul... When Caind mudered his brother God said .... The voice of thy brothers blood cryeth unto me... that was the verse that I remembered of spilling blood unnessacary... So DO NOT SPILL BLOOD, not even by getting tattoed.
So is the RED FLAG lowered yet?
Nnnnope! You make unbiblical claims and don't provide scripture.
What you are in effect doing by not showing scripture is causing people to see it YOUR way rather than seeing it for what it says. By doing so, you now cause those who wont read the scriptures for themselves to believe that bleeding is a sin. Even "bleeding from tattoos" as you say. This is completely non biblical. This methodology also prevents you from learning anything new, as it portrays that you already know well enough to speak on a matter without using scripture. You repeat your own doctrine enough times it becomes etched in your mind.
You have deviated from the original topic/question of "is it okay for a Christian to get a tattoo?" into "is bleeding a sin?"
Think about that. Now we have to have endless trivial debates on whether or not it's okay for Christians to get needles. And you do realize there are Christians out there who let their children get sick and die because of bad bible doctrine right? Through bad theology, they get it into their heads that antibiotics are a sin. What you are doing is NO different. Watch it man! Because its THAT easy to throw people off in the WRONG direction.
