22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain.

Which Sabbath do you follow? How many feet do you travel from your home on this Sabbath day? Do you drive your vehicle on the day in question? Is your food prepared the day before? What work do you perform if any on the your Sabbath Day?

Jesus said my father works and he must works , that is we can do good works on the sabbath and not evil

What does the Old Testament say about the Sabbath (s) ?

What Sabbath did Abraham Keep?
The prophets were great social reformers and little interested
in the ritual. With them the element of rest, that was attached

It was to be strictly observed (Lev. 19:3b, 30; 26:2) and to that end sacrifices were prescribed for it
(Ez. 44:24; 45:17; 46:1-5, 12).
It was altogether a day of abstinence.
I think that there has been an over simplification of the Old Testament Sabbath. How does the Full Moon Sabbath differ from the seventh day Sabbath? Are we to follow both? What about the Sabbath Year? Do we need to follow this as was prescribed to the Jews? What about the Week of Sabbath? The year of Jubilee was also a Sabbath. Where does our Sabbath responsibility begin and end? To think that we can follow the Sabbath in the New Testament is to place Burdens on the Christian community.
The reality of it is this, "The Old Testament Sabbath was very exacting". we do not even begin to comprehend the meaning of Sabbath and if we believe that by following it we are somehow justified before the Lord then we are all in a lot of trouble.
I am familiar with the Mishnah and the requirements places on the regular people by the Pharisees but yet the Old Testament Sabbath was only understood by those who lived it.

The early church met on the Lord's Day or Sunday. They would share a meal, pray and study the bible.
well sunday is the day of pentecost, it is also the day in which Jesus rose from the dead and live eternally forever more and because he live we give him praise and thanks
i was actually gave up about speaking on this subject.. until i realise that i can't quit because a predestinated seed could be wondering around here and notice something different and would ask questions i pray to God that happens.. i see alot of prideful people proud in their belief not even willing to see what others have to say.. it's very sad to see and it doesn't make sense for me or anyone else to speak to you because you will just deny it no matter what, but i pray to God that a predestinated seed come in contact and notice something different and ask questions

"The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.." Which serves whom? The day serves the faithful, a day to meditate on God and have a sort of rest, it's not meant to be a day where they are slaves to it.

One man considers one day the sabbath another considers everyday a alike. Romans 14:5

The Sabbath was not established for the Jews or in the Law. The Sabbath was established in the 1st 7 days of creation by God. He rested spiritually and physically. The 7th day Sabbath was established by God during creation. The law simply showed it was given by God from the very beginning.

Since Abraham kept the sabbath youmight suggest that Abraham kept the seventh day sabbath?
Just looking for your thoughts. He did keep some type of sabbath and he clearly had communication with God.

So, some say that the Sabbath is a particular day. And on that day we are to rest, spend time with the Lord, rejuvenate for the upcoming week....So, what if one is a Christian and they are required to work on that day - say that person is a nurse or a doctor and they provide critical care in the ER. Are these Christians supposed to find jobs that don't require them to work or be on call. If so, only non Christians are to provide care on the Sabbath? I'd particularly enjoy the possibility of having a Christian taking care of me if I were to arrive at the ER on the Sabbath.
